Hey ladies and gentlemen, this is Carmine Savio for Explain America and Kamala Harris just got
0:05
blindsided. Before we get started, please make sure you like, comment, share and subscribe
0:12
Those little things really help us out and they help our channel continue to grow
0:17
So you guys already know that Donald Trump and Joe Biden have agreed to two debates
0:23
Now former President Trump is trying to get him to agree to a third on Fox News
0:28
He hasn't agreed to that yet. Former President Trump also wants President Biden to agree to
0:33
take a drug test and Democrats, they're incensed about this. Why? If you're not taking drugs
0:40
what's the issue with the drug test? But I digress. Fox News has announced that they want to host
0:48
the vice presidential debate. Trump has already accepted for his yet to be named vice president
0:55
But you know who hasn't accepted yet? Kamala Harris. And the question is
1:00
will Vice President Harris accept? Because, you know, Joe Biden, the President Joe Biden, he
1:07
made certain that his debates with Trump were on liberal networks with liberal moderators
1:12
had all his rules set. They want to be in a comfortable place. They want to be in a place
1:18
where they're not really challenged. Now, will they be challenged? I don't know. I think the
1:23
anchors that they picked for these debates are pretty good at their jobs. And I do think
1:26
Biden will be challenged. Likely not as much as Trump, but I do think he will be challenged
1:32
But on Fox News, on Fox News, it's going to be fair and square. They're both going to get
1:36
tough questions. And I don't think Harris likes that idea. Otherwise, why not respond
1:43
The issue, the invitation has been issued. Trump responded in minutes. What's taking so long
1:47
Vice President Harris? I want you to watch this report on it and let me know what you think
1:52
As always, please remember to like, comment, share and subscribe. I'm Carmine Sabia for

A little breaking news to discuss right now. Fox News is requesting the opportunity to host
2:09
a vice presidential debate. Let's bring in special report anchor Brett Baer to talk to us a little
2:15
bit about this proposal. Hello, Brett. Hey, Martha. You know, this is the wild west of
2:21
debate proposals. We put out a debate proposal for a presidential debate. I was accepted by
2:26
former President Trump, not accepted yet by the Biden camp in early October. And now there's a
2:31
pitch specifically for the vice presidential debate. I went out about a half an hour ago to
2:37
both campaigns, suggesting that in addition, the Fox News media has reached out to Virginia State
2:43
University, VSU as the possible location, since it was selected by the Commission of Presidential
2:50
Debates to be the first historically black college or university to host a presidential debate
2:55
So we are making this formal request for a vice presidential debate, either July 23rd, August 13th
3:02
or after the RNC and DNC conventions. And just in the past few minutes, as that has gone out
3:12
I have received this from former President Trump and the campaign on behalf of the future vice
3:18
president of the United States, who I have not yet chosen. We hereby accept the Fox vice presidential
3:25
debate, hopefully at Virginia State University, the first historically black college or university
3:29
to host a debate date to be determined. I urge Vice President Kamala Harris to agree to this
3:36
make America great again. Again, that's from the former president and his campaign. So we will see
3:41
about the Biden Harris campaign response and where we go from here. Obviously, we have the CNN
3:46
and ABC debate that has been agreed to have been agreed to already. And we'll see what else
3:52
happens. This is a strange dynamic in getting these things locked down, but we're doing it
3:58
in short. Wild West is, I think, a great way to put it. And it's certainly you know, we spoke with
4:03
Frank Ferencov yesterday. It's not what the presidential commission on debates wanted to see
4:09
They like to be the bipartisan organization that brings these things together, provides a forum to
4:14
hash out the rules that both sides will agree to. And, you know, Jen Psaki said, you know
4:19
any one of these existing announcements could fall apart as they start to haggle over this
4:24
And I think a lot of people look at the presentation on the Biden side as, you know
4:28
laying down the rules. This is what we want. And I guess, you know, to former President Trump's
4:32
credit, he was like, OK, fine. I think what we're getting from all of these requests
4:39
is that the Trump campaign and the former president is saying yes, yes, yes, yes. Exactly
4:45
I would like to debate more. I'd like to have one every month. I'd like to have as many as possible
4:51
And the Biden campaign and President Biden had agreed to two at the beginning. And we'll see
4:56
if he expands that. But there is a vice presidential debate that will happen. And obviously, the Trump
5:01
campaign has accepted our offer. Hopefully, it's going to be at Virginia State University and HBCU
5:07
And, you know, it would be obviously there's always a vice presidential debate. And you can't
5:11
imagine, really, that they wouldn't want the sitting vice president of the United States to
5:17
go head to head and defend the president's administration and the work that they've done
5:22
against whoever former President Trump picks. Right. That's a little surreal, too, isn't it? I mean, we're dealing with a stand in. You know, it's
5:31
basically we don't know who this person is going to be yet, but we accept on behalf of that vice
5:37
presidential nominee. I expect that that nomination, that choice, rather, will happen sometime just shy
5:44
of the convention, which obviously happens mid-July for the for the RNC. But we've seen all
5:50
of these folks that have been talked about. And I think they're going to be some significant
5:55
interviews over coming days that are more of the tryout as the former president makes that pick
