0:04

0:42
See her predecessors after the first George Bush have all gotten the endorsement of the
0:49
Teamsters Union. It's a heavily Democrat union. It's always supported Democrats, not always, but pretty consistently supported Democrats
0:58
They supported Reagan, they supported Bush, but they pretty consistently supported Democrats
1:02
since then. And the Teamsters decided they're not going to support any candidate
1:08
Now that is not the monumental shift it would be if they said, yeah, we're supporting Trump
1:14
but it's almost as good. It's almost as good. The Teamsters staying neutral
1:19
The Teamsters not putting their manpower behind knocking door to door and promoting and campaigning
1:25
for Kamala Harris. That's massive. And this is something Trump is celebrating obviously, but Kamala Harris, she's not celebrating it
1:37
No, she's devastated by this. Now they're bragging today that some local Teamsters unions are saying we support her
1:44
but they did a poll of the actual Teamsters and it's a landslide in the actual membership
1:51
support for Trump. That I think is the reason that the Teamsters made the decision they made as a company
1:58
as a group. Sean O'Brien, the head of the Teamsters, made the correct decision for his membership
2:03
and said, look, this is just too divided. I can't support Harris and it'd be too much of a jump to support Trump
2:12
But don't forget, Mr. O'Brien spoke at the Republican National Convention. He wanted to speak at the Democrat National Convention, but they didn't let him
2:20
That cost him, I think. It cost him massively. I want you to watch him in his own words, talk about it here, and then let me know what
2:26
you think in the comments. I've been looking forward to this interview for some time, especially given the last minute drama
2:34
I'm talking about a chat with Sean O'Brien. He is the Teamsters general president
2:38
We've talked to him many times over the years and he speaks his mind
2:42
That's why I'm a little surprised by this news today that the Teamsters will not be
2:46
officially endorsing a presidential candidate. So I thought to myself, Neil, when you talk to Sean, ask him how a guy who was invited
2:56
to speak before Republicans at their convention but didn't get the same honor at the Democratic
3:01
Convention could decide not to support the Republican nominee. And here he is, Sean O'Brien
3:08
Good to have you, Sean. Why not? Why not? Why, sir? Well, we interviewed both candidates and we were seeking commitments from both candidates
3:17
and we couldn't get solid commitments on our core issues, like the PRO Act, like vetoing
3:22
national right to work, like staying out of labor disputes and not trying to force any
3:27
contracts on us, like what happened to our brothers and sisters in the rail industry
3:31
We didn't get solid commitments from either candidate, which was a major factor in our
3:35
decision as a general executive board not to endorse any candidate. However, we did a lot of polling, as you know, and the polling leaned heavily towards former
3:44
President Trump. So that tells you that. Very heavily, Sean. And I'm just wondering, do you look disconnected from your members
3:52
No, we're definitely not disconnected from our members because, look, we did extensive
3:57
polling that was important. Our goal as leaders, as union leaders, as leader of the teams is to provide the ability
4:05
for people to have a voice and to provide credible information. And we cannot dictate to our members
4:11
Our members are sophisticated. They're going to make their own decisions. But this is a bigger problem
4:16
You know, the Democrats have always taken for granted that they're going to get our vote no matter what
4:20
And the Republicans fancy themselves as the working parties, working people's party
4:25
I think right now both sides have to take a step back and really reevaluate what their
4:31
commitment is to working people. And that's what we did in this process
