0:31
helps us
0:32
out kamla Harris the vice president of
0:35
the United States
0:36
thwarted by president-elect Donald Trump
0:39
in the general election I like saying it
0:41
I like talking about it she was giving a
0:44
speech it's going to be her farewell
0:45
speech I don't think that you're going
0:47
to see too much of kamla Harris in the
0:49
coming weeks and
0:50
months um I'm sure she'll give
0:52
interviews after about how she was you
0:54
know whatever it was only I only had I
0:56
only had 100 days to campaign blah blah
0:58
blah blah blah you're going to hear a
0:59
lot of that over the next four years uh
1:02
as she prepares to run for president
1:04
again and likely get trounced in the
1:06
primary by more qualified Democrat
1:08
opponents but in this particular speech
1:11
she's talking about something she quote
1:13
did for the people and she got
1:16
Medicaid in a lot of states to provide
1:20
up to a year of time off for a woman
1:23
after she gives birth now I don't mean
1:26
to insult anyone or or make un
1:30
comfortable but a year off paid a
1:32
company has to pay you for a year to sit
1:34
home you know Democrats don't do a lot
1:36
of things well but one thing they do
1:38
well one thing they do better than
1:40
almost anybody on Earth is find ways for
1:43
people to get paid to do
1:45
nothing oh they do it better than
1:47
anybody why because I believe they want
1:51
communism I mean this party lives to
1:54
find ways for people to get paid to do
1:57
nothing if you have Medicaid what job
1:59
did you have
2:00
what job could you possibly have where
2:02
you also get
2:03
Medicaid it's almost impossible because
2:06
you have to make such a little amount of
2:08
money to get
2:10
Medicaid that I can't imagine what job
2:13
you would have that would pay you so
2:15
poultry that you would still have
2:16
Medicaid but the point here is that she
2:19
talked about how she pursued this and
2:21
was quote unquote Shameless about it
2:24
with these states I want you to listen
2:26
to this speech she's very proud of this
2:28
I think it's disgusting
2:30
but I want you to listen to it and let
2:32
me know what you think in the
2:34
comments women in America die at a
2:37
higher rate in connection with
2:40
childbirth than women in any other
2:43
so-called wealthy country in the
2:46
world and the latest numbers tell us
2:49
native it was twice as likely the
2:53
current numbers are that native women
2:55
are three times more
2:58
likely than others to die in connection
3:01
with child
3:02
birth three years ago this very month as
3:07
vice president I challenged every state
3:10
in our country to address this crisis
3:14
and in particular I challenge them to
3:17
extend postpartum coverage under
3:20
Medicaid from amly what they were doing
3:23
two
3:24
months to one
3:26
year I am proud to report that whereas
3:30
when I issued the challenge and I was
3:32
pretty Shameless about it I really
3:34
challenged them like I was in their face
3:36
about
3:38
it when I first did it only three states
3:42
had Medicaid coverage postpartum Beyond
3:45
two months as of today 46 States offer a
3:51
full year of postpartum
3:53
coverage right
