Hey ladies and gentlemen, this is Carmine Sabia for Explain America
0:03
And the January 6th indictment of former President Donald Trump has come down
0:08
It is official. We're going to get right to that, but first, please make sure you like, comment, share
0:13
and subscribe. Those little things really help us out and they help our channel continue to grow
0:18
The indictment just came down from the hands of the grand jury in Washington, D.C
0:23
From Jack Smith, the special prosecutor. And if these charges stick and the trial is done before the November election, there
0:32
is a chance, if he's convicted, that Trump would not be legally allowed to serve as President
0:38
of the United States again. Now it relies on the 14th Amendment and the interpretation of the 14th Amendment and it
0:44
is perilous. You know, it's not a certainty. It's a constitutional question
0:51
But let's go right to the report officially from Fox News. For one second and just let you know that President Trump's campaign has put out a statement
0:59
saying that he has been indicted. And I know that the grant, as David Sponge's reporter, the grand jury apparently is sealed
1:06
But they're saying that shortly after 5 p.m., the magistrate judge in D.C. accepted three
1:11
new indictments. The initial of the first two were read aloud, but not the third
1:16
That's the latest that we have here. So let me let you continue
1:20
But I wanted to just get that out there so that we have the news on the record. Right
1:26
And as we expected, this is the other shoe dropping. But you know, the there's a suggestion that Jack Smith might be using the Civil Rights
1:36
Act and Section 241. That would be a stretch. It has been used in some election cases of interfering with the right to vote
1:45
But this goes to the concern many of us have. You know, if you're going to go after a president or former president, you should do it on well-established grounds
1:54
We got the printer going behind me. Forty five pages. Here it is right here
1:58
Donald Trump has been indicted. There are four different counts. I want to read them to you before I read through this
2:04
Count one is conspiracy to defraud the United States. Count two, conspiracy to obstruct an official proceeding
2:11
Count three, obstruction of an attempt to obstruct an official proceeding. And then count four is called conspiracy again against rights
2:19
So I want to go through this and look at it right now. We just sent it out. So everybody should have a copy in our email
2:25
But right now it appears four different counts. This was the indictment that was not read in court now is unsealed
2:32
And we're waiting to see if we get any type of reaction from special counsel Jack Smith will be watching for
2:37
Do you know, but earlier to earlier, you said that there were the indictments didn't have
2:42
some initials or some people were named. What happened to that is now everybody named
2:47
And there you have it. That's all the information we have right now. We will bring you more on this late breaking story as it develops
2:54
Until then, please keep it with us here at Explain America and understand what is going
2:59
on here. They are trying to take away, in my opinion, your right to vote for Donald Trump
3:05
You talk about interfering in democracy. This is the height of interfering in democracy
3:09
It is shameful. This is a sad day for the nation. It's a sad day for democracy
3:14
And in my opinion, we have crossed the line into banana republic territory
3:19
Please leave your comments on this video. Also, please make sure you like, share and subscribe
3:24
I really want your comments on this guys. So please, please leave them here
