0:08
of president-elect Donald Trump in
0:10
stride even a little before we get

0:39
Adam Schiff should be flying high right
0:42
now right you're talking about a guy
0:44
that just won a spot in the Senate from
0:47
really crappy representative he's going
0:49
to go over he's going to reach for the
0:50
stars and become a really crappy Senator
0:53
and he should be proud of that that's an
0:56
accomplishment you know but but he's not
1:00
I mean I'm sure he's happy with it but
1:01
you could see the disdain the
1:02
despondency in his eyes when he gives an
1:06
interview and in this particular
1:07
interview takes part of the
1:09
responsibility finally on
1:12
himself for the Democrats getting their
1:15
clocks
1:16
cleaned in this previous election for
1:19
Donald Trump going back to the White
1:22
House it's driving him nuts and you
1:23
could see it you can see there's a fear
1:26
there what's the fear about well you've
1:29
spent seven years lying about this man
1:32
youve spent seven years spreading
1:34
conspiracy theories about this man and
1:36
now the part's over and the DJ has to
1:39
get paid and you're going to have to pay
1:42
him and you could see the the struggle
1:45
mentally it's been for Schiff to get
1:48
through this in in every interview he's
1:50
done you know instead of talking about
1:52
his new position in the Senate what's he
1:53
talking about he's walking into the
1:56
Senate he's going to be in the minority
1:57
party with a president that's against
1:59
him House of Representatives against him
2:02
this guy has no power he's a powerless
2:06
Senator and he knows it and that's
2:09
what's driving him nuts now there will
2:11
be midterm elections there'll be another
2:13
election in four years and I'm sure he's
2:16
praying that things change don't forget
2:19
a senator has a six-year term so he's
2:21
going to be a senator for at least
2:23
longer than Trump as president that's
2:25
how it works so maybe he's holding out
2:27
some hope there I don't know but he
2:29
doesn't look like he's holding it
2:32
together very well I want you to watch
2:34
this video and then let me know what you
2:35
think in the comments I want to turn now
2:39
to the results of the
2:41
2024 election and and talk a little bit
2:43
about what you think may have gone wrong
2:46
you joined this program a month before
2:48
the election and you talked about vice
2:50
president Harris's chances of winning
2:52
take a look at this by the standards of
2:55
today I think she can wi win
2:57
overwhelmingly uh you know given how
2:59
divid of the country is overwhelming
3:02
maybe winning by 100,000 votes or 80,000
3:05
votes in these key Battleground States I
3:07
think that's within her capacity to do
3:09
so I think we are well poised to win
3:12
this thing but uh it is still scary
3:16
close why do you think that kamla Harris
3:18
didn't win and win
3:20
overwhelmingly I think Joe Biden's
3:22
decision to step beside and pass the
3:24
torch was the right decision it gave us
3:26
a chance to win it didn't give us a
3:27
guarantee uh and I thought she could win
3:30
uh and I thought she could win in all
3:31
the Battleground States but ultimately
3:34
what we saw both in this country and
3:35
around the world was a very strong
3:37
anti-incumbent wave that took out both
3:39
progressives and conservatives uh and
3:42
our party became associated with the
3:45
status quo uh and that was too much to
3:47
overcome I think the principal issue uh
3:50
is the economy uh and over years and
3:53
even decades it's gotten more and more
3:55
difficult for people working full-time
3:56
to make a living uh and until we resolve
3:59
that challenge the economy we may find
4:02
the presidency is easier to get than it
4:04
is to keep you know you talk about
4:06
President Biden's role in all of this
4:08
speaker amera Pelosi said that he
4:12
actually should have stepped aside
4:13
sooner that that could have made a
4:16
significant difference in the outcome of
4:18
this election do you agree with the
4:19
speaker amera well she has far better
4:22
political instincts than I do um you
4:24
know I think it's it's difficult because
4:27
had we gone to a competitive primary for
4:30
example uh what would the results of
4:32
that primary been how ugly and divisive
4:34
and chaotic would it have been very hard
4:36
to tell uh in advance um but I do think
4:40
the you know Democratic party has to
4:42
recognize the challenge we have which is
4:45
for too many millions of uh Battleground
4:48
voters working people they don't think
4:50
we represent them uh and we have to make
4:53
that case a new but Senator Le do you
4:55
believe that President Biden Bears some
4:58
responsibility for staying in too long
5:02
look I think the entire Democratic party
5:05
Bears a responsibility myself included
5:07
and the former president and the uh uh
5:10
mounted a in effective campaign and you
5:12
have to give him credit for that but uh
5:15
the challenge that we have is we need to
5:17
put forward a bold vision for how we're
5:19
going to move the economy forward make
5:21
the economy work for every American to
5:23
me the existential question is if you're
5:25
working hard in America can you still
5:27
earn a good living and too many people
5:29
doubt but that's possible
