Hey ladies and gentlemen, this is Carmine Sabia for Explain America and the White House has been
0:05
in a tizzy since the conviction of first son Hunter Biden. Before we get started, please make
0:11
sure you like, comment, share and subscribe. Those little things really help us out and they help our
0:16
channel continue to grow. The White House has had to juggle since Hunter Biden was convicted
0:23
yesterday of three felony firearm charges. Now I think the White House and maybe a lot of pundits
0:29
believed that it was never going to happen. He was never going to get convicted and I think they
0:33
were caught flat-footed. You have to think they prepared for such a scenario, right? But you got
0:40
your Justice Department prosecuting your son, but the evidence was just so overwhelming. I'll go
0:47
back to the fact that I don't think this should have even been a case. I think it infringes on
0:52
his Second Amendment rights and I think cheering for it. You have to understand Joe Biden is arguing
0:58
in favor of the law that got his son convicted. His son Hunter Biden is using the NRA talking
1:06
points to argue against the law and that's how it's going to play out on appeal. So this is really
1:12
you know kind of wacky. Father versus son almost. But what I'm saying to you is at least be prepared
1:20
That's what I'm when I say to you I mean the White House. At least be prepared for the possibility
1:25
your son might be convicted. They weren't prepared and this is what happened. Let's take a look at
1:31
the videotape. President's son is being convicted on those federal gun charges. He was not expected
1:36
to make mention of those charges and he didn't although there are still opportunities for
1:40
reporters to ask questions of him if and when they see the president at some point along that route
1:46
The White House press briefing that was expected to take place this afternoon has now been canceled
1:50
so any opportunity to ask the press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre questions about the conviction
1:55
that the jury leveled earlier today there is no longer an opportunity to do that as the president
2:01
is now going to be heading to Wilmington Delaware ostensibly to be sharing some personal time with
2:07
his family in the wake of that conviction. We know that the family has been spending a lot of time
2:12
together in the lead up to this trial and during this trial with the first lady traveling back and
2:17
forth from the president's trip in France to be there in person in the courtroom as some of the
2:22
most emotional testimony was delivered so we will see what more we get from the president but
2:28
certainly at this point the White House is more than satisfied to let the president's own words
2:33
earlier today speak for themselves where he says that he's proud of his son and where he stands in
2:38
his recovery and that the judicial system can do its own work and I'm paraphrasing there but that
2:43
is essentially the statement that the president has been issuing throughout the course of this
2:48
legal affair guys. Kayla Tausche live for us at the White House Kayla will let you get to that
2:53
press briefing that
