0:34
helps us out CNN data analyst Harry
0:37
enton was on last night and he said that
0:41
69% of Americans
0:44
69% agree with President Donald Trump
0:47
about one particular thing of what could
0:50
be so
0:53
massive coalescing if you will that
0:57
people 69% D across party lines Democrat
1:00
Republican didn't
1:02
matter that they agree with President
1:04
Donald Trump on this one issue I believe
1:06
the issue that cost the Democrats the
1:09
2024 presidential
1:11
election these people agree with Trump
1:13
about transgender athletes not being
1:16
allowed in women's
1:19
sports this to me seems like such a
1:21
no-brainer that anybody who's against
1:23
the idea of keeping women's sports just
1:26
for women something liberals by the way
1:29
fought for for to have women sports and
1:32
women's
1:34
spaces if you're against that you're on
1:36
the wrong side of history I mean when
1:39
almost 70% of the country disagrees with
1:42
your position maybe it's time to rethink
1:45
your position maybe it's time you come
1:47
back to the land of reality and leave
1:49
the Land of Make Believe maybe it's time
1:51
you get out of bizar world and come over
1:52
and join us here in this
1:55
world reality doesn't cease to exist
1:58
because you don't like it
2:00
reality doesn't cease to exist because
2:02
you wish to change
2:04
it reality is reality and the Democrats
2:07
Hey listen you had guys like Bill mahs
2:09
screaming this from the
2:11
rooftops and the party wouldn't listen
2:13
to him he said this is going to be a
2:15
problem and they wouldn't listen to him
2:18
and they lost the 2024 election I think
2:20
for a number of reasons but I think this
2:22
one was way up high on the list I want
2:26
you to listen to what Mr Harry enton had
2:27
to say here and let me know what you
2:29
think in the comments
2:30
comments joining me now CNN's senior
2:33
political data reporter Harry Anon Harry
2:35
tell me what are you seeing in these
2:37
numbers yeah I I think these numbers are
2:40
really Illuminating on this topic
2:42
because I just think there's such a
2:43
clear Trend among the American public so
2:47
transgender female athletes in women's
2:49
sports only 18% of the country says that
2:52
they should be in fact allowed to
2:54
participate in women's sports compare
2:56
this to the opposition I mean my
2:58
goodness gracious 79 9% you rarely get
3:01
79% of the country to agree on anything
3:04
but they do in fact agree on the idea of
3:06
opposing transgender female athletes in
3:09
women's sports but it's not just the
3:10
Here and Now Laura it's not just the
3:12
Here and Now what we're actually seeing
3:14
is a trend on this particular issue and
3:16
it's going in the direction of
3:18
opposition so take a look here okay
3:20
transgendered female athletes and
3:22
amongst those Americans who opposed them
3:24
in women's sports back in 2021 it was
3:27
62% a majority but you know not anywhere
3:31
close to a ginormous majority right a
3:34
clear majority but not a ginormous
3:35
majority but then again you look here in
3:37
20125 you see it at 79% so it's not just
3:41
that the majority of Americans are
3:43
opposed to transgender female athletes
3:45
in women's sports it's that the
3:46
opposition has become considerably
3:48
larger in just the last four years how
3:51
does this break down across party lines
3:53
yeah so you know when you get 79% of
3:55
Americans to agree on anything in this
3:57
case opposition to transgender Fe
4:00
athletes in women's sports you got to
4:01
believe that it's the majority across
4:04
all parties and that's in fact what we
4:05
see so transgender female athletes again
4:08
oppos in opposing them in women's sports
4:11
you get 67% of Democrats so 2third there
4:13
you get 64% of Independence so you get
4:16
about 2third there and then look at this
4:18
near uniformity among Republicans 94% of
4:22
Republicans in opposition you rarely get
4:24
67% of Democrats and 94% of Republicans
4:28
to agree on anything but they do on this
4:29
this particular issue but it's not just
4:32
that Republicans are in an opposition
4:34
it's the strength of that opposition
4:36
okay Republicans who strongly want to
4:39
ban trans transgender female athletes
4:41
from women sports get this it's 84% who
4:45
strongly want to ban them and that is
4:47
actually larger than the amount of
4:49
Republicans who strongly want to deport
4:50
all immigrants in America who are here
4:52
illegally so that just gives you an
4:55
understanding of how strong the
4:56
opposition is among Republicans it is
4:58
really strong when it comes to Banning
5:00
transgender female athletes from women
5:02
sports Laura it's very Illuminating
5:04
Harry Anton thank you so much thank you
