Tomi Lahren Puts Ron DeSantis' Feet To The Fire - Stunning Reason He Is Taking On Trump

DeSantis decided to take on former President Donald Trump instead of waiting until 2028

So Tommy Lahren of OutKick and Fox News decided to put the screws to Ron DeSantis and hit

him with the question that I think a lot of people have been wondering

Why didn't you wait until 2028? You know, a lot of people figured, hey look, we'll have Trump in 2024, then he's retired

he can't be President again, we'll have DeSantis in 2028, it's the perfect marriage

But DeSantis chose instead to go after Trump to take him on in 2024, which a lot of people

believe is a huge mistake and, you know, that's for you guys to decide

But it was very interesting to hear his answer to the question

I've been waiting for this answer. Tommy got it. Let's take a look

What do you say to those Trump supporters who say we like Ron DeSantis, we wish he would

have waited until his 2028 turn? What do you tell those people

Well, first of all, in America, we don't have turns. People can run if they believe they have something to offer the country

And I can tell you as somebody that's worn the country's uniform, who served in Iraq

who believes in a cause greater than myself, I believe 2024 is make or break

I don't think we have time for excuses. We're not going to get a mulligan on this one

And I think I've shown the ability to defeat the Democrats, yes, at the ballot box by winning

Florida by historic margin, but also on issue after issue. We beat them on lockdowns

We beat them on education. We beat them on ESG. We beat them on illegal immigration

We beat them on transgender athletes competing with women on issue after issue

We didn't just talk the talk. We walk the walk. And so I'll run

I'll beat Biden. But I think even more importantly than that, I will deliver on all these things, because

if we don't actually deliver, then I think we're going to end up being in a hole

It's going to be very difficult to dig out of. So I think I'm the guy that can get all of that done

And I think I have a responsibility to offer myself, given that that's where I'm coming from

Now, the problem DeSantis faces, and I understand his reason. You know, I get what he's saying

The problem he faces is twofold. Right now, polls are showing Trump is not just winning the nomination

He's running away with it in really a historic, historic curb stomping of his competition

There have never been numbers like this in a primary for the Democrats or the Republicans

unless they were the incumbent president in modern history. He's so far and away running away with this nomination that it could do serious damage

to his competitors. The problem DeSantis faces is he could have angered his own voters and he could have trouble

in the next gubernatorial election. He could have angered national voters and he could have trouble in 2028 if he tries

for it again. So all these things are factors that he should have thought of

In retrospect, of course, hindsight is 20-20. Maybe he is thinking differently, but it's too late now

I personally think, hey, look, man, it was a valiant effort, but you already know you

have no shot at this. Time to back out, everybody back out that's involved in this race

Put your support behind Trump. Let's have a united front. Let's start taking on Joe Biden right now instead of waiting until after this primary
