0:33
out vice president JD Vance sat down for
0:36
a long ranging interview with Fox News
0:38
host Maria bomo today and they talked
0:41
about a lot of things but he said that
0:43
she was the first one to Broach this
0:45
topic Maria bomo asked him what about
0:49
2028 is JD Vance going to run for
0:52
president in 2028 now you
0:54
know that being a good politician JD
0:57
Vance didn't answer the question
0:58
directly he danced around it he talked
1:00
about what they're doing now and what
1:01
their plans are and he said he hasn't
1:03
had time to think about it and maybe
1:04
he's telling the truth but I don't
1:06
believe that I think if you're the vice
1:08
president you damn sure are thinking
1:10
about if you want to be president or not
1:12
I think he's certainly going to campaign
1:14
for president in 2028 and I think when
1:17
you listen to how he answers the
1:18
question how he words everything he's
1:20
saying to miss bomo I think you'll
1:23
probably come to the same conclusion I
1:25
did that he is absolutely going to
1:28
campaign for president in 202
1:30
28 and I think he should because we need
1:33
somebody to carry on the Maga agenda to
1:36
make it keep working we don't want to
1:38
slip back we don't want to go back in
1:40
time to a republican who maybe will not
1:43
do the same thing will not behave the
1:46
same way we not have the same ideals and
1:49
ideas so I want you to listen closely to
1:51
what JD Vance had to say here and then
1:53
let me know what you think in the
1:55
comments and we're very serious about
1:57
making sure they do meet their end of
1:58
the bargain you're one of the youngest
2:00
vice presidents that we've ever seen in
2:02
the history of our country are you
2:03
expecting to run for president in three
2:05
and a half years Mar you're the first
2:08
person who's asked me that and I'd say
2:10
that uh We've we've we've not thought a
2:12
lot about politics in the last 6 months
2:14
we've thought about getting the American
2:15
people's business done uh we'll see what
2:18
happens come 2028 but the the way that I
2:20
think about this is the best thing for
2:23
my future is actually the best thing for
2:25
the American people which is that we do
2:27
a really good job over the next 3 and a
2:29
half years so we'll cross the political
2:31
bridge when we come to it I'm not
2:32
thinking about running for president I'm
2:34
thinking about doing a good job for the
2:35
American people and I think the best way
2:37
to do that is to make sure that
2:38
President Trump is a success and how
2:40
important is it to bring young people
2:42
into the political conversation so huge
2:44
so important and I think that certainly
2:46
one of the things one of the
2:47
responsibilities that I take seriously
2:49
I've got a seven-year-old an almost
2:51
5-year-old and a three-year-old kid at
2:53
home I do think I I I I view America's
2:55
political problems from the perspective
2:57
of a young father because that's exactly
2:59
what I am so I I definitely try to bring
3:01
that perspective into the Oval Office
3:03
and meetings on Capitol Hill that's an
3:05
important role for me to play and I'll
3:06
keep on playing it and I love that
3:08
you're a family man and and one of the
3:09
first executive orders that President
3:11
Trump signed in was school choice yes
3:13
and so we talk about education do you
3:15
have a vision there in terms of how
3:17
things should look for your children as
3:19
they grow up you're talking about
3:21
killing or or or um shutting down the
3:23
education department to save cost so
3:25
what does the education look like well I
3:28
think we could save costs and actually
3:29
give American children a better
3:31
education we spend way more per pupil on
3:33
American educ or on education than
3:35
almost any country in the world and
3:37
we've gotten worse and worse outcomes I
3:39
think the president's exactly right that
3:40
if you give parents more choice and more
3:42
capacity to choose what's in the best
3:44
interest of their kids then we're going
3:46
to make education better for All
3:47
American children it's really weird to
3:49
me actually that so many politicians
3:52
they send their kids to private schools
3:54
but then they want to deny that
3:55
opportunity to the families of poor
3:57
children or middle class children my
3:59
attitude is anything that's good enough
4:00
for my kids I want to give all Americans
4:02
those opportunities and that's exactly
4:04
what the president's school choice
4:05
policy aims to do Mr VP are you going to
4:08
Ohio on Monday can you tell us about
