Hey ladies and gentlemen this is Carmine Sabia for Explain America and the news is really
0:05
bad for Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell of the Republican Party. It really looks like he can't work full time anymore at this job

Those little things really help us out and they help our channel continue to grow
0:22
So Mitch McConnell yesterday had a situation where he froze while he was talking to the
0:29
reporters in his home state and Mitch McConnell was asked about running for re-election the
0:35
next time out which at 81 years old his next election is a few years away
0:40
He's freezing when he talks to reporters. I think it's probably not a great idea
0:45
However if Mitch were to retire from the Senate a Democrat senator would likely be appointed
0:52
by Democrat Governor Andy Beshear of the state of Kentucky. So I see why McConnell wants to stay in the Senate to protect the Republican Party and
1:01
that is important. That being said, working the full time schedule of the Minority Leader, a position that should
1:08
probably go to somebody else right now, that's a huge mistake and Laura Ingraham expounded
1:14
upon that on Fox News. McConnell's spokesman tried to explain all this away saying that Mitch felt momentarily
1:23
lightheaded and paused during that press conference. That's not what we saw
1:30
This is a pause. We have real problems here in both parties
1:36
Our government is about to begin what are monumentally important negotiations over the
1:40
budget and appropriations. Five men are supposed to play a dominant role in those talks
1:48
Biden is 80 years old. Schumer, 72. McConnell, 81. And McCarthy, Hakeem Jeffries, both in their 50s
1:56
Now this means at least two of those five involved in deciding how we spend trillions
2:02
of our tax dollars, they're no longer capable of working full time
2:07
And both sadly show obvious symptoms of serious physical and cognitive decline
2:14
Now, this is always a tough situation in any family. But in this case, with the authority and the power that they have, I have no words for
2:23
their wives and families who keep pushing them out there. Oh, wait a second. Wait a second
2:27
That's right. Jill's not a doctor, a real one. So she can't diagnose Biden's obvious deterioration
2:34
Now I yield to whom I yield to. Now, Ms. Ingram is absolutely correct
2:39
It doesn't seem to me that Mitch McConnell can actually stand to do this job anymore
2:43
of the day to day rigors of being the minority leader. It's a very tough job and it requires a lot
2:50
It requires a lot of attention, requires a lot of work. And you have to be cognitively available to make major decisions
2:56
Budgets are coming up. A lot of things are coming up. And we need people that are sound to make those decisions
3:03
Now I don't know if Mitch McConnell can still make sound decisions or not. I'm not his physician
3:08
I'm not even a physician. So I can't make that call. But I can judge by what I see that if we've seen him freeze two times and we know he's
3:17
had three falls in the year of 2023, this year alone, three falls
3:22
If we know all that, then we should have serious questions. The same way we have serious questions about Joe Biden
3:28
The same way we have serious questions about Dianne Feinstein. The same reason or the same way we have serious questions about John Fetterman
3:34
We can't pick and choose what we have serious questions about. I want to know what you guys think
3:41
Could McConnell step down from leadership and give somebody else a chance at that role
3:45
And if so, who would you pick for that role? Please let me know in the comments
3:49
Also, please remember to like, share, and subscribe because that really helps us out
