hey ladies and gentlemen this is Carmine
0:01
Sabia for explain America and you guys
0:04
remember the controversy over the edited
0:06
CBS kamla Harris interview well the
0:09
incoming head of the
0:11
FCC he says CBS is in a lot of trouble
0:14
for it they're in I can't say that word
0:17
but they're just in
0:18
trouble before we get started please

0:41
out guys CBS News everybody knows what
0:46
they did they didn't edit for time they
0:48
edit to try and save kamla Harris's
0:51
failing Campaign which ultimately failed
0:54
anyway they tried to take one of her
0:56
answers that sounded like gibberish edit
0:59
out the gibberish parts that make it
1:00
sound like one straight answer one
1:03
cogent straight answer which it was not
1:06
if you actually see the unedited version
1:09
or read a
1:10
transcript why because kamla Harris was
1:14
woefully unqualified for the position of
1:16
President and is not a great speaker so
1:19
they tried to save her but now the new
1:20
head of the
1:22
FCC he says they're going to go after
1:24
CBS and everything including CBS
1:27
possibly losing their broadcast license
1:29
is on the table here it is a possibility
1:31
here I don't think they'll go that far
1:33
but it's a possibility here and maybe
1:35
they should maybe they should set an
1:38
example about the news has to be fair
1:40
and if you're not well then there's a
1:43
price to be paid for not being fair I
1:45
want you to listen to what he says here
1:47
in this interview and then let me know
1:48
what you think in the
1:50
comments perspective there's a couple of
1:52
top issues number one is looking at Tech
1:55
censorship you know free speech is the
1:57
Bedrock of our democracy and there's
1:59
been this unprecedented surge in
2:01
censorship over the last couple of years
2:03
and we need to restore Americans First
2:05
Amendment rights number two is to look
2:07
at our approach to Media you know Jeff
2:10
Bezos just recently did an oped where he
2:12
said that uh Americans don't trust the
2:15
news media he said now they're the least
2:17
trusted of all and I think he's speaking
2:19
a lot of Truth there so I think the
2:20
status quo particularly when it comes to
2:22
Legacy Media needs to change and three
2:26
we have a real opportunity to get the
2:27
economy going and creating jobs
2:30
president Trump came in in 2017 uh we
2:32
were behind the eightball when it came
2:33
to Communications policy and he turned
2:35
things around and that's exactly what is
2:37
going to happen again we need to free up
2:38
more Spectrum we need to do permitting
2:41
reform you talk about real broadband
2:43
that's the key there and number three is
2:45
the space economy I'm down here in South
2:46
Padre Island right now there's going to
2:48
be another Starship launch later today
2:50
and it simply cannot take longer to move
2:52
permitting paper from one desk at an
2:54
agency to another than it does to build
2:57
and launch these Rockets so we're going
2:58
to unleash America's private sector
3:00
again what can the FCC do to help Legacy
3:04
Media you know there's a lot the FCC can
3:07
do uh broadcasters are differently
3:09
situated than other speakers uh they get
3:12
free access to a valuable public
3:13
resource the airwaves and they're
3:15
licensed by the FCC and the uh exchange
3:17
for that is they have to serve the
3:19
public interest I think it's important
3:21
that we take another look at that and we
3:23
reinvigorate it there's also a news
3:25
Distortion complaint at the FCC still um
3:28
having to do with CBS and CBS as a
3:30
transaction before the FCC and I'm
3:32
pretty confident that that news
3:33
Distortion complaint over the CBS 60
3:36
Minutes transcript is something that's
3:37
likely to arise in the context of the
3:39
fcc's review of that transaction
