Hey ladies and gentlemen, this is Carmine Sabia for Explain America and Mitch McConnell
0:04
has just revealed what his future plans are after the latest freezing incident he had
0:10
and it took a lot of people, and I mean a lot of people, by surprise
0:14
Before we get started, please make sure you like, comment, share and subscribe
0:18
Those little things really help us out and they help our channel continue to grow
0:22
So the Senate Minority Leader and Kentucky Senator Mitch McConnell, 81 years old, has
0:28
suffered two freezing incidents over the summertime in front of cameras, in front
0:32
of reporters. Now that leads a lot of people to believe, with no evidence, we have no evidence of this
0:37
but logic, right? It leads a lot of people to believe that these incidents happen more frequently than we know about
0:45
If they happen two times caught on camera, you start to ask yourself, what are the odds
0:50
that every time this happens, he's in front of cameras? Also, the way his staff reacts to them, without a sense of urgency
0:58
If you saw somebody in your family, in your life, for the first time freeze up the way
1:03
he freezes up, what would you do? You'd be calling a hospital, you'd be screaming for paramedics, you'd be doing something, right
1:12
They're very calm, because they've seen this before, is my guess. So reporters asked him yesterday, point blank, what are your plans for the future
1:21
Are you going to retire? Are you going to step aside as leader
1:25
McConnell indicated that he will not retire from the Senate, but he also indicated, and
1:30
I think this came as a surprise to a lot of people, that he will not step aside as leader
1:35
of the Republican Party in the Senate. And I think that's the worst part, because that to me is somebody who cares more about
1:43
the power than the party, more about the power than the country
1:48
He, in my opinion, does not appear to be capable of handling this job anymore
1:53
One of the smartest guys to ever be in the Senate, has done tremendous things for the country and tremendous things for our party
1:59
Let's make no mistake about it. Is he a fan of Donald Trump? No
2:04
But does he play a major role, or did he play a major role in the fact that we have a conservative
2:09
majority on the Supreme Court? Absolutely. Did he play a major role in appointing Republicans and conservatives to federal benches all across
2:18
the country? Yes, he did. He's one of the best chess players in the history of the Senate
2:23
But you have to know when it's time, right? Tom Brady had to know when it was time
2:29
Brett Favre had to know when it was time. Derek Jeter had to know when it was time
2:33
You can be great at what you do, but age, age is the great equalizer, right
2:41
Age does not stop for anybody, and none of us, none of us, not you, not me, can do the
2:47
same things we could do 20 years ago, right? Unless you're in some incredible medical wonder
2:55
You know, I can't do what I did when I was 25, you know
3:00
Things change, and McConnell should realize that, and he should realize that for the sake
3:05
of the country, for the sake of the party, for the sake of everybody involved, and for
3:09
his family, his family. Where are these people's families? Where's Dianne Feinstein's family
3:14
Where's Joe Biden's family? Where's Mitch McConnell's family? Where are their families to step in and say, enough, enough, grandpa, enough, grandma, enough
3:25
Enjoy your golden years. Retire. I think it's a dereliction from the family's part as well, and I think the Republican Party
3:33
needs to insist, and they have been, some of them have been, that it's time for Mr
3:37
McConnell to step aside. Among them, Rand Paul and Josh Hawley, you know, are saying it's time for him to step aside
3:45
Because he could destroy his legacy by holding onto power a little too long
3:49
Folks, I want to thank you again for joining us here at Explain America
3:53
Please comment on this story. I want to know what you think about McConnell and if he should retire, or if he should keep
3:58
the Senate seat but just step aside as majority leader or minority leader
4:02
Again, thank you for watching. Please remember to also like, share, and subscribe, because that does really help us out
