Hey, ladies and gentlemen, and welcome to Explain America. I'm your host, Carmine Sabia

What have the Democrats done now? What has the federal government done now to disadvantage Republicans
0:12
That's coming right at you. But first, please always, always say it

Please subscribe. Please hit the like button. Please hit the share button. Please leave a comment

Those things are so super important to a small channel like ours. Really helps us out. You know how the algorithm is trying to keep
0:30
conservatives down. We need your help to fight that. So please give us a hand
0:34
Folks, the federal government every 10 years, once a decade, runs a census
0:41
And the census is not just something to, hey, we're just going to count the people and that's it
0:47
No, the census is very important. It's important that you do it every year or every 10 years
0:53
And there's a reason for that. The reason is, in terms of services that you get from your government and things like that
0:59
well the number of people in your given area matters but it goes deeper than that it goes very much deeper than that
1:08
and it becomes very important because the number of people in your state also determines the number of seats you have in the House of Representatives It also determines how many electoral college votes
1:20
you get in the electoral college. You see where I'm going with this
1:25
Because as it happens, somehow, some way, gosh darn it, that bureaucratic federal government once again
1:35
did something that just accidentally damages Republicans. What does that mean? It means there was several states that were either overcounted or undercounted
1:44
Hawaii, Delaware, Rhode Island, New York, Massachusetts, and Minnesota were all overcounted
1:53
Just coincidentally, five of those six voted for Joe Biden in the 2020 presidential election
1:59
Texas, Illinois, Florida, Mississippi, Tennessee and Arkansas were all undercounted. and five of those six voted for President Donald Trump in the 2020 election
2:12
So states that are leaning heavily towards the Democrat Party get overcounted
2:18
which could result in more seats in Congress and more electoral votes
2:23
And states that are voting Republican they undercount it which could result in less House of Representatives seats and less electoral college votes In fact Florida lost two electoral college votes and two seats in the House of Representatives
2:40
So let's say somebody from Florida, I don't know, Donald Trump, Ron DeSantis, could be anybody
2:48
Well, let's say one of them were to run for president in 2024
2:53
and they win their home state of Florida, which is expected. You're going to win your home state, right
2:58
Usually happens. Well, they're going to get two less electoral college votes
3:03
And two less electoral college votes in a tight presidential race could mean the difference between being president and being runner-up
3:10
Now, these numbers are going to be in effect until the next census
3:14
Because even though the Census Bureau admits they made this mistake, they admit it
3:20
We messed up, guys. Sorry about that. messed up. There's actually no constitutional remedy for this. There's, you can't go to the Supreme
3:28
Court. There's nothing you can do. There's nothing you can do about this. You have to grin and bear it
3:33
until the next election. Not election, but next census. You have to grin and bear it until the
3:40
next census And that you know in 2030 So that the next time we going to find out who gets more seats in the House who gets more electoral votes And you know what reason do we have to believe it going
3:53
to be any better? This was an explosion, by the way, in error rate. Error rate is usually
3:58
razor thin. This was an explosion in the error rate. So, you know, the same bureaucracy running it
4:06
in 2030, who's to say that it's going to be any better? Don't forget, President Donald Trump
4:11
president when this census was taken. So it's not like Joe Biden was president. There was some nefarious
4:16
scheme. These are bureaucrats. These are not elected officials. These are people that are in office
4:22
that are bureaucrats. They're part of the swamp. So whatever happened happened, we don't know
4:29
It was a mistake and we're stuck with it. So we got to pray that we can overcome it in the next
4:36
election and keep on winning. Folks, that's it for today. I want to thank you for joining
