Kamala Harris has a daunting task ahead of her. She's got to roll in to the Democrat National Convention in Chicago
0:44
She's got to convince these people after she was installed that she's the rightful candidate
0:50
and she has to do it while thousands upon thousands of people are outside
0:58
protesting her and protesting the Democrat Party much more than they did at the RNC as anticipated
1:05
here for the DNC. Now why this is a nightmare for Harris is not just protesters Protesters are no big deal What this could break into what this could break into I not going to say the word here but it starts with an R and ends with an IATs
1:22
What this could turn into would absolutely take away the media coverage from the DNC
1:29
Now, Harris is relying on the DNC to give her a bump. She had a bump already in the honeymoon phase
1:35
This is supposed to be another bump before we get to the meat to the heart of the campaign
1:41
Well, if there's unrest in the streets of Chicago, that's going to take a lot of the media attention away from the coronation of the queen who got no votes
1:51
I want you to take a look at this video talking about it and talking about how devastating it could be for Harris
1:57
And then let me know what you think in the comments. That could go sideways at any moment
2:03
How is the city getting ready to allow the permitting for the protesters but also control them so they don't think things over
2:11
I really like the way you phrase that because during the NATO summit, a woman asked me if we were going to use tear gas to control the crowd
2:18
And I said, only if you can explain to me how tear gas controls the crowd, sends a crowd in all different directions
2:25
They been ramping up for months The key to this is we know that there people coming here to disrupt things We know there bad actors coming There even information that they been funded from people
2:39
overseas like Iran and Hezbollah and Hamas. So the fact is there are going to be confrontations
2:47
The best thing that they could do is get them out of the crowd. You don't wade completely into a
2:51
crowd with horses and things like that. What you do is you extract the bad actors
2:57
get them away and not let everybody else go the same fashion
3:01
So it's not about what you've seen in the past with horses and tear gas and nightsticks
3:07
It's about getting those folks, getting them out and moving on with the protests
3:11
I was talking to Bill earlier about how there's a lot of comparisons to 1968
3:17
Right. And to go back and read that history and be reminded of things that I'd forgotten is interesting
3:22
But I think that there's such an interesting, different, new element, and that is the technology
3:26
the ability for people to organize quickly based on a group text message that gets everybody going
3:33
How do police departments of modern day deal with that as we look back at this footage from 1968
3:40
We do the same thing. We have the technology. The other thing that we have not just monitoring social media open source we can do it It constitutionally protected But we have camera systems throughout the city that are monitored by the police
3:58
So we could see where groups are meeting, we could see where protests are going
4:02
And that's why one of the things that we did right in 2012 during the NATO summit was we had a ton of cops on bicycles
4:09
And the bicycles can get in front of the protests and be used
4:13
just barriers. So that was successful. The extraction technique that we used was successful. We had a
4:21
plan. We planned for it for months. We equipped. We made sure that everybody had the equipment
4:26
And it's important to realize that we didn't come out in riot here. When I first got my first briefing
4:32
on NATO summit, they were talking about coming out in riot here. And I said, well, do we want a riot
4:38
And they said, no. I said, confrontation begets confrontation. So we came out in a check of
4:43
short hats, and when it ramped up, we moved up to the next level with helmets
4:47
Then when it got a little bit crazier, that's when we came in with the riot gear. Here's the problem. Axios. One House Democrat telling Axios, they are, quote, very concerned about the person
