Jack Smith's Case Against Trump Gets Devastating News - Trump Is Celebrating

So Jack Smith, you know, what does he need in order to prosecute Trump

What does he need from the federal government? What help could he possibly need that he could be stopped at

Well he needs funding and who controls the funding? The House of Representatives

Now we're inching closer to a government shutdown. It could happen in the next few days

Non-essential workers start getting laid off and put on furlough if there's a government shutdown

One of the sticking points here has been funding for Jack Smith's investigation which a lot

of Republicans believe is a political witch hunt. Well if he thought it was going to be easy to just secure that funding, he just got really

bad news from Ohio Republican Representative Jim Jordan who has something to say on the matter

Let's take a look. You needed to get those bills done. Why weren't the appropriations bills done in time

Well there's been a fight over the number, what level we're actually going to fund that

Look, I want to reduce spending too. I know what the debt problem is. But in divided government there's been a number that's agreed on to fund the government and

frankly it's less than the year before which is a huge step

When we control one half of one third of the government by five votes and we've actually

got to negotiate a number that's less than Joe Biden and the Democrats spent last year

I think that's a win. So let's hold on that number if we can

There's some debate within our conference and I get that. Let's hold on that number if we can

But let's win the policies. The other policy, frankly, we should consider putting on these bills is the policy that

says you can't fund the attack on your political opponent, which is exactly what Joe Biden's

doing when he's funding this Jack Smith operation, going after his political opponent

And the American people, I think, see that for what it is. It's one of the reasons why President Trump's up 10 points in the latest poll, for goodness

sake, because they know his policies work and Joe Biden's policies don't

And they see that Joe Biden is using their tax money to attack President Trump

So that's another policy when we could go for that that I think makes a lot of sense

And I know that there are different people who have different priorities. You and this has been a sticking point for Jordan, for Matt Gaetz and for others

A lot of people in the Freedom Caucus, a lot of the more hardcore Trump Republicans, a

lot of the more hardcore fiscally responsible Republicans are exhausted with funding Jack

Smith's what they believe is a witch hunt investigation. They believe this is just about politics

Now whatever you believe about it doesn't really matter. What actually matters is what these Republicans believe about it

Because if this is a major sticking point, that's going to be problematic for the White

House and the Democrats to get any kind of budget passed in Congress

Now what they're looking for is a continuing resolution. A continuing resolution has been going on since the 90s

It means we're not balancing the budget. It means we're just spending and spending and spending and spending, paying our bills

but not lowering the bills. It means that we're just continuing on this path of utter destruction

Utter destruction. It is untenable. The bill we are leaving for our grandkids, grandkids is absolutely shameful

And it has to be stopped. At some point it has to be stopped. Who's going to be the ones to stop it

That's a big question. We don't yet know the answer to. Right now Matt Gaetz and others are holding the line and it looks like Jim Jordan is ready

to hold that line. We got to pray that they stand strong here because the stop has to happen

You can't keep doing this. This is not the way it was intended to function

So stay strong Jim Jordan. Stay strong Matt Gaetz. Hold the line and if it has to be shut down, then shut it down
