Hey ladies and gentlemen, Carmine Sabia here for Explain America, and unfortunately, the
0:05
liberal assault on this Supreme Court is never ending, and now there's a new way, they believe
0:13
to impeach not one, but two Supreme Court justices, and maybe get it back to a liberal majority
0:19
Folks, before we get started, please make sure you like, comment, share and subscribe
0:24
Those little things really help us out and help us spread the conservative message
0:28
So have you guys heard of the organization MoveOn.org? I'm sure you have
0:33
They were an organization that was formed after former President Bill Clinton's impeachment
0:38
quite literally to quote move on from what had happened. This is not a nonpartisan organization
0:46
They are far to the left of even the Clintons, way to the left
0:50
Well, right now people know that they're stuck with the court, okay, because Joe Biden, the
0:55
President of the United States, he doesn't want to pack the court. He talked a lot of game, but he doesn't want to pack the court
1:00
As I've told you before here on these videos, at his core, Joe Biden is a traditionalist
1:05
So for that very reason, he doesn't like to have massive changes like that that seem political
1:11
Even though he's a political machine, he likes things to stay traditional
1:16
That being said, the same cannot be said for a lot of the Democrat Party, particularly
1:21
the progressives and particularly a group like MoveOn.org. Now MoveOn.org has launched a petition looking for signatories that basically wants the Senate
1:31
to investigate both Justice Clarence Thomas and Justice Samuel Alito for taking gifts
1:37
from rich friends. Now it's interesting the organization that found this out, ProPublica, did not report
1:44
on any of the gifts, say a Justice Sonia Sotomayor got, and she got plenty of gifts from people
1:51
or groups whose cases either directly or indirectly came before the Supreme Court
1:55
But ProPublica, who says it's nonpartisan, doesn't appear to be concerned with those
2:01
No, they're only concerned with Alito and Thomas. So I think you can kind of figure out what's going on there
2:09
Now this petition seeks to have the Senate investigate Alito and Thomas, bring Alito
2:16
Thomas Roberts, the Chief Justice, before the Senate for hearings. Here's the thing though, you can't compel the justices to go before the Senate
2:25
These are co-equal branches of government. So one branch cannot wield its power over the other
2:31
There is, however, an impeachment proceeding that can happen for Supreme Court justices
2:36
but with the current makeup of Congress, very unlikely that that's going to go ahead
2:41
But it does give you a glimpse into the mind of what they want to do if they should get
2:45
the majority. They want to change this court. This all happened after the affirmative action case
2:51
It happened after the student loan ruling. They don't want a court that follows the Constitution
2:56
They say, you know, conservative activists, but really they're just following the Constitution
3:01
They want a liberal activist court. It's not that they don't want an activist court
3:04
They do. They just want their activist court. That's the issue. They want their activists
3:10
So, you know, I don't believe this petition right now will go anywhere, but it does give
3:16
you a glimpse into the future about how they plan to shape and mold this court and possibly
3:22
remove conservative justices like Alito and Thomas. And that's very frightening. Folks, I want to thank you again for watching
