Hey ladies and gentlemen, this is Carmine Sabia for Explain America and the governor
0:04
of Georgia, a Republican, has just stepped in on the impeachment of Fannie Willis

Those little things really help us out and they help our channel continue to grow
0:20
So Georgia Governor Brian Kemp, who used to be an ally of former President Donald Trump
0:26
but is no longer an ally because they feuded over the Georgia election results in 2020
0:32
he stepped in to calls from the Republicans in his state legislature to call a special
0:37
session to impeach Fannie Willis. And the governor said, and I quote, he has not seen enough evidence that she has abused
0:48
her position that would require her impeachment. Now I've seen plenty of that evidence in my opinion, but I'm not the governor of Georgia
0:58
You know, unlike some people like Stacey Abrams, I don't live in a fantasy where I am the governor
1:02
of Georgia. That being said, let's listen to his words, but then I have some bad news for Fannie Willis
1:09
after this. So I want you to watch this and then I'll give you the bad news for her
1:13
I did want to take just a few minutes to speak to some history that's trying to repeat itself
1:19
over the last few days here in Georgia. Many of you will recall that in the final weeks of 2020, I clearly and repeatedly said
1:29
that I would not be calling a special session of the General Assembly to overturn the 2020
1:35
election results because such an action would have been unconstitutional. It was that simple
1:42
Fast forward today, nearly three years later, memories are fading fast. There have been calls by one individual in the General Assembly and echoed outside of
1:52
these walls by the former president for a special session that would ignore current
1:57
Georgia law and directly interfere with the proceedings of a separate but equal branch
2:03
of government. Up to this point, I have not seen any evidence that D.A. Willis's actions or lack thereof
2:11
warrant action by the Prosecuting Attorney Oversight Commission. That will ultimately be a decision that the commission will make
2:21
Regardless, in my mind, a special session of the General Assembly to end run around
2:27
this law is not feasible and may ultimately prove to be unconstitutional
2:33
The bottom line is that in the state of Georgia, as long as I'm governor, we're going to follow
2:38
the law and the Constitution, regardless of who it helps or harms politically
2:46
Over the last few years, some inside and outside of this building may have forgotten
2:51
that, but I can assure you I have not. The oath I took with my hand on the Bible that's right behind me in January of 23 is
3:02
the same Bible that I took in my inauguration in 2019. And in Georgia, we will not be engaging in political fear that only inflames the emotions
3:15
of the moment. We will do what is right. We will uphold our oaths as public servants, and it's my belief that our state will be
3:25
better off for it. Now that's all well and good for her
3:28
Bad news is they can still bring her in front of the prosecutorial board, and the prosecutorial
3:36
board can remove her. Now they're going ahead with plans to do that on October 1st when that board comes into
3:43
session, and that's probably the surest, quickest way to get rid of her
3:48
Of course, it's not sure, it's just the surest way. But it's not sure, nothing is certain
3:54
So we have to see what happens, but October 1st, look for that date, look for that prosecutorial
3:59
board, and look for that case. That is going to be a barn burner
4:03
I want to know what you guys think in the comments below. Is Brian Kemp a rhino
4:07
Has he betrayed his country and his Constitution? Do you think Fannie Willis should be impeached and or removed
4:13
Let me know in the comments. Also, please remember to like, share, and subscribe. That really helps us out
