Hey ladies and gentlemen, this is Carmine Sabia for Explain America
0:03
and a Fulton County judge has just made the first massive decision
0:08
in the Trump-Rico case that is set to start, well we're gonna find out right now. But before we get started please make sure
0:16
you like, comment, share and subscribe. Those little things really help us out
0:21
and they help our channel continue to grow. So Judge McAfee has set a trial date for Kenneth
0:28
Chesebrough and this is important to President Donald Trump for a lot of reasons and I'm gonna get to it. But first
0:35
I want you know that Kenneth Chesebrough had requested a speedy trial. Well District Attorney Fannie Willis came along and said okay
0:44
let's do a speedy trial. She's all for a speedy trial. She says she's ready to go
0:49
Maybe he was bluffing, maybe she called his bluff but here we are
0:53
Judge McAfee says okay then let's set the trial date for October 23rd. Now that is a huge decision. That is right around the corner
1:02
That is right around the corner. That is two months away give or take
1:06
So that's gonna be huge. Here's the thing. It definitely can affect former President Donald Trump's case
1:14
It can also affect the cases of the other 17 people charged
1:18
which include former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani who also served as legal counsel to former President Donald Trump
1:26
Here's how. If Chesebrough is found not guilty well then that sets up a whole cascade of events that could lead to
1:35
everybody being found not guilty. And the reason for that is in the charging documents
1:40
it basically lays out that Chesebrough was the person who was the
1:45
architect of the fake electors scheme or what they call the fake electors scheme to get
1:50
Trump re-elected or at least to get him the Georgia electors. And the idea behind this was a separate slate of electors
1:57
who were going to vote for Donald Trump were going to be sent in from Georgia
2:01
and not the ones that were supposed to vote for Joe Biden. Now
2:06
Georgia was won by Joe Biden so those are the electors that were counted, the
2:10
Joe Biden electors. But Chesebrough had this idea that Pence could reject those electors
2:16
and use the Trump electors instead. This would have set up an entire
2:20
huge constitutional crisis no matter what you think happened. It would have been catastrophic
2:27
The point is if he's found not guilty then the entire House of Cards starts
2:31
crumbling down because that's a major part of the RICO case and if he's not guilty of that well then nobody's guilty of that right
2:38
At least it would stand to reason. If however he's found guilty of that then the knife cuts the other way
2:45
and it sets the stage for a lot of people to be found guilty including former President Trump and that could be disastrous
2:53
I think Chesebrough should have pushed this off. I think he should have took more time
2:57
I'm not an attorney, I'm not a legal expert but two months to prepare for this does not seem like a lot of time
3:04
unless he's planning to cut some kind of deal. Either way this could be huge for Trump
3:10
one way or the other and we're gonna have to wait and see and find out what
3:13
happens here. This is going to be a massive trial to watch. Don't
3:18
think this is just some bit player and it's not an important trial. If this trial is on television you need to watch it
3:25
and if it does go down on October 23rd as is scheduled you need to watch it
3:29
and you also need to keep watching us. We appreciate it so much guys
3:33
I want to thank you for joining us here tonight. Please leave me your comments on this story and remember to like, share and subscribe because that really helps us out
