Hey, ladies and gentlemen, this is Carmine Sabia 4 Explain America and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis
0:05
was on the hot seat about the future of his campaign as he is falling and falling fast in the polls
0:12
And, well, he didn't like this question, but he did answer it eventually. Before we get started, please make sure you like, comment, share, and subscribe

Those little things really help us out, and they help our channel continue to grow
0:25
So, disclaimer at the beginning of this video, I'm a Ron DeSantis fan
0:29
still the Ron DeSantis fan. I'll probably always be a Ron DeSantis fan. I think he's a great governor
0:34
I think he's a great conservative. I think he's a great Republican. And I think we do our party
0:38
and injustice if we're so furious at him for challenging President Trump, which is done in primaries
0:47
you know, for challenging former President Trump that we dismissed this guy. This guy could be the
0:52
future of our party. And he's a great, great conservative. So I think, you know, we need to stick with him
0:57
Even as we watch Trump become the nominee for this year, DeSantis still has a future
1:03
And I would love to see him and Trump make amends and make that future possible for all of our sakes
1:10
That being said, he is plummeting in the polls. Nikki Haley is passing him
1:15
And NBC's Meet the Press is Kristen Welker, the host of the show or the anchor of the show
1:20
She put it to DeSantis. And here's what he had to say. Let's take a look. You have now held events in all 99 of
1:27
Iowa counties And yet former President Trump is still 27 points ahead of you in the state So Governor I have to ask you are you committed to staying in this race through the Iowa caucuses
1:41
Well, tell you what, doing all 99 counties is a tradition here. It's something that Governor Reynolds advised that I do
1:47
And it's a way to, one, show that you're earning people support
1:52
Two, it's a way to hear from real people outside of kind of the media bubble about what's important to them
1:58
And then I think three, it reminds you that at the end of the day, you're a servant
2:03
You're not a ruler. And we really believe in servant leadership. So we went everywhere
2:08
We showed up. We took questions. And we've been able to build a really incredible organization
2:13
We've got over 30,000 people that already committed to caucus for us
2:17
We're adding more every day. Of course, we have the endorsement by the great governor here, Kim Reynolds
2:22
And, of course, by Bob Vanderplatz, most recently from the family leader
2:27
So I don't think anyone's ever done in Iowa caucus with this amount of institutional and grassroots support
2:34
And it's only going to build for here. And we look forward to being victorious on January 15th
2:39
So just to be clear, you are committed to staying in the race through the caucuses
2:44
Of course I am. I mean, it's absurd that I wouldn't be. If you look at past Iowa caucus winners and compare to what, you know, people were saying in November with this poll or that poll
2:55
it almost never comes out. the same way So we have a great base of support We have a much wider base of people who are potential caucus goers who believe that I been a great governor and would be a good president And we just got to bring that home when people start to make their decisions and they will be doing it But I tell you one thing what people in Iowa and even the other early states they do not want the media choosing the
3:20
Republican nominee. They do not want narrative to trump over their decisions. And so I see a lot
3:26
of resistance on the ground here to some of the things that have tried to be spun, whether it's
3:30
through polls, whether it's through pundits. And I think that's a good thing. I think you're going to
3:34
see on caucus night, people's voice be heard. Well, let's talk about the stakes on caucus night
3:40
If you don't come in at least second, would you then drop out of the race? How critical is Iowa
3:50
Well, we're going to win the caucus. We're doing everything that we need to do it
3:55
But what if you don't, Governor. What if you don't? And I've said from the beginning, we are, we are
4:00
we're going to win the, we're going to win the caucus. But even apart from that
4:04
there have been people that have won Iowa and not won the nomination and vice versa
4:09
You need to win a majority of the delegates. And so we're committed to doing that through the whole process to win the majority of the delegates
4:17
There's a lot of things that happened. I mean, even two months ago, the field looked a lot different than it does now
4:22
I think the field will look different on caucus night than it does now. So it's a very dynamic situation
4:27
Fortunately, we're somebody that has broad support. We're well positioned. and we're going to be able to take it all the way to the end to be able to win a majority of those delegates
4:36
Bottom line is Iowa do or die for you, Governor? We going to win Iowa I think it going to help propel us to the nomination but I think we have a lot of work that we have to do beyond that I don think you take anything for granted And I do recognize that there have been people that have wanted who knocked on to win the nomination I think this year a little bit different I think the field is narrowed quicker I think it going to narrow even more And ultimately Republican voters are going to have the choice of Donald Trump which I think would make the election a referendum on him and a lot of the issues that he
5:11
dealing with or me. And that will be a referendum on Biden's failures, on all the issues in the
5:17
country that are affecting people, and I'll be able to stand for a positive vision going forward
5:22
We have a much better chance if we're doing it with me as the candidate. I'd also be able to
5:28
serve two terms, and I'm more likely to actually get a lot of this stuff done. But those are
5:32
the choices realistically for Republican voters. Now, all that was a very slick way of not answering
5:38
the question. I do believe Iowa's do or die for DeSantis. I think if he finishes third or fourth in Iowa, I don't see him finishing fourth, but even third, that could be the end of his campaign because the donors start to go away
5:51
And the donors are now going to Nikki Haley if they don't believe you have a chance anymore
5:56
And I think, you know, DeSantis's campaign started strong, but it looks like it could be all over
6:02
