0:30
we just received word a few hours ago
0:32
the Secret Service in the early morning
0:35
hours had a neutralize a suspect who was
0:39
outside close to in proximity to the
0:41
White House were told that this man may
0:44
have been armed in fact was likely armed
0:48
because there was some kind of exchange
0:50
of fire from the preliminary reports
0:53
that we're hearing no secret service
0:55
members were injured the president the
0:58
vice president their families are safe
1:01
preliminary reports coming out suggest
1:03
that the man may have been on the edge
1:07
kind of thinking about self harm and a
1:09
lot of times you see this happen with
1:11
it's blank blank by cop can't say the
1:14
word on here you know how it is but when
1:17
they try to basically off themselves but
1:19
they use the police to do it however we
1:22
do not currently know the condition of
1:24
the perpetrator or the suspect in this
1:27
incident we do know that police have
1:30
given a report and they are now in
1:32
charge the DC Metro Police are now in
1:35
charge of this
1:37
investigation we understand that the
1:39
secret service agent was placed on leave
1:42
as is protocol in these type of
1:45
situations again important to note that
1:47
the Secret Service acted quickly to make
1:50
sure that everybody was safe that nobody
1:53
in the president's realm in the
1:55
President's Circle was Hurt No Secret
1:56
Service agents were hurt just the
1:59
suspect himself self was
2:01
neutralized that being said we do have a
2:04
report here about the incident as it
2:06
happened so I'm going to take you to
2:08
that but I also want to know you know is
2:10
the secret service now you think doing a
2:12
better job under Shan
2:14
Karen um is there anything you'd like to
2:16
see changed with the Secret Service do
2:18
you trust the Secret Service to keep the
2:21
president and the vice president safe I
2:22
want to know all these things so please
2:24
watch this video and let me know what
2:25
you think in the comments breaking news
2:28
coming from the US now and the US secret
2:30
service has shot a man near the White
2:33
House in Washington DC that's according
2:35
to our colleagues at NBC News in the
2:38
states it happened shortly after
2:39
midnight uh after an armed confrontation
2:42
with law enforcement uh according to the
2:45
Secret Service there they say local
2:48
police had reported what they described
2:50
as a suicidal individual who had
2:53
possibly traveled to Washington DC from
2:56
Indiana they uh later located uh a
2:59
vehicle and spotted a person on foot who
3:02
matched the description uh they then
3:05
brandished a firearm the report says an
3:07
an armed confrontation ensued during
3:09
which shots were fired by Secret Service
3:12
Personnel they've confirmed the man was
3:14
shot and has been taken to hospital and
3:16
this all happened on the intersection of
3:19
17th Street and uh F Street Northwest
3:23
which is near the White House in
3:24
Washington DC so just to reiterate the
3:26
US secret service has shot a man near
3:29
near the White House in Washington DC uh
3:32
he has subsequently been taken to
3:33
hospital
