Elon Musk was at the first cabinet
0:32
meeting today and a lot had to be talked
0:34
about but is interesting cuz he wore
0:37
this shirt that said technical support
0:40
and he wore a dark Maga hat and the
0:41
whole thing but when he got there he
0:42
said you know this is basically what I'm
0:44
doing here I'm technical support and
0:47
we're going to fix a lot of glitches
0:48
that are going on inside this government
0:50
a lot of computer glitches a lot of
0:52
software glitches that are happening old
0:55
software it's happening inside the
0:56
federal government it's costing money
0:59
and and you know according to him he's
1:01
here to fix it but what he said is
1:03
there's a lot of mistakes he also said
1:06
if we don't stop this runaway spending
1:08
we're looking at bankrupting this
1:10
country for our children for our
1:12
grandchildren a bankrupt Nation it's on
1:15
the horizon if we don't do something and
1:17
really do it right now that's why we
1:20
elected Donald Trump we knew he was
1:21
going to bring Elon Musk with him we
1:23
knew what Doge was going to do he told
1:26
us there was no secrets here Democrats
1:28
are acting like where'd all this come
1:29
from we didn't the people didn't vote
1:31
for this hell yes we did we absolutely
1:34
voted for this what campaign were you
1:37
watching Trump did not lie he told us
1:40
exactly what he was going to do and he
1:43
told us what Elon mus was going to do
1:44
now they're doing it this is exactly
1:46
what we voted for I for one I'm thrilled
1:49
about it wonder if you are too I want
1:51
you to watch this video and let me know
1:53
what you think in the comments that's
1:55
the way it works so I'd like to have
1:58
Elon Musk please say a few words thank
2:01
you thank you Mr President uh well I I
2:04
actually just P myself with humle tech
2:06
support here because this is
2:10
actually as crazy as it sounds that that
2:13
that is almost a literal description of
2:16
the work that the Doge team is doing is
2:18
helping fix the government computer
2:19
systems many of these systems are uh
2:21
extremely old they don't communicate uh
2:23
there are a lot of mistakes in the
2:25
systems the software doesn't work um the
2:29
uh so we are actually Tex it's it's a
2:32
it's ironic but it's true um the the
2:36
overall goal here with the Doge team is
2:38
to help address the enormous deficit we
2:41
simply cannot sustain as a country uh $2
2:44
trillion deficits the interest rates
2:47
just the interest on the national debt
2:49
now exceeds the defense department
2:51
spending we spent a lot on the defense
2:54
department but we're spending like over
2:56
a trillion dollars on interest if this
2:58
continues the country will will go
3:00
become de facto bankrupt it's it's not
3:03
an optional thing it is an essential
3:05
thing that that's that's the reason I'm
3:07
here um and taking a lot of plat and
3:10
getting a lot of death threats by the
3:11
way I mean I like stuck them up you know
3:14
um but if we don't do this America will
3:17
go bankrupt that's why it has to be done
3:21
um I'm confident at this point uh knock
3:23
on wood you know on my wooden head um
3:27
the go a lot of wood up there um that we
3:30
can actually find a trillion dollar in
3:33
savings that would be roughly 15% of the
3:36
$7 trillion budget um and obviously that
3:39
can only be done with the support of
3:41
everyone in this room and I'd like to
3:43
thank everyone for for your support
3:44
thank you very much this this can only
3:46
be done with with with your support um
3:49
so this is It's really doge is a support
3:51
function uh for the president and for
3:54
the the agencies and departments uh to
3:56
help achieve those savings and to
3:59
effectively find
4:00
15% uh in reduction in fraud and and
4:04
waste um and and we bring the receipts
4:07
so people say like well is this real
4:09
just go to Doge Dogo we we line item by
4:12
line item we specify each item so and we
4:16
and I I should say we also we will make
4:18
mistakes we won't be perfect but when we
4:21
uh make mistake we'll fix it very
4:23
quickly uh so for example with uh USA uh
4:27
one of the things we accidentally
4:28
canceled very briefly when was aola
4:30
Evola prevention I think we all want
4:32
aola prevention so we restored the Evola
4:34
prevention immediately and there was no
4:37
interruption um but uh we do need to
4:40
move quickly uh if we're if we're to
4:42
achieve a a trillion dollar deficit
4:45
reduction uh in in financial year 2026
4:49
it requires saving uh $4 billion per day
4:52
every day from now through the end of
4:54
September but we can do it and we will
4:57
do it thank you would have any questions
