Harrison Beider, Center Field of the Yankee and New York, Harrison. Thank you for being here with us in this interview
0:07
for Con Las Bases Jennas. Don't worry, it's not in Spanish. Although I heard maybe you speak a little Spanish, right? No
0:13
How has it been this year playing the entire time with the Yankees
0:18
And also, I know that you play with Jason Dominguez in the spring training
0:23
What can you tell us about how he impresses you? You know, first of all, it's been a great experience with the Yankees
0:30
Obviously, coming back into my hometown, playing in front of friends and family, is obviously very special
0:34
So it's really just about, you know, continuing to play hard. We got some runway towards the end of the season to maybe make some things happen
0:40
So I think we're all just focused on that and playing winning baseball. And you mentioned Jason Dominguez, super talented, very young kid, does a lot of things very well on all sides of baseball
0:49
So, yeah, a very exciting future for him moving forward. What does it mean to be a Yankee
0:56
To be a Yankee means to, you know, to bring it every day under the, you know, the highest expectations and under, you know, a lot of high expectations for yourself
1:05
And I think the organization, the fans, the city, the level of baseball, you know, and the ALEs
1:09
it all kind of brings out the best version of you on and off the field. Not only as a baseball player, but you got to learn how to dig deep at times
1:17
especially when things don't necessarily go your way. It's about bouncing back very quickly and finding a way to come out and give your best version the next day
1:24
So, you know, having the privilege to do that in this uniform means the absolute world to me
1:28
I'm excited to it every day. It's really been special for me. I don't know if you know this, but when you guys were in Miami
1:33
it was a sellout crowd every night. It was the record for them The most people they ever had in the stadium outside of the WBC and it because they were supporting you guys like it was Yankee Stadium And here in Tampa when you guys play it like you guys
1:47
are the home team, what is it with the fans, the Yankee fans in Florida? Is that crazy
1:53
Yeah, it's great. Listen, Yankee fans travel. There are Yankee fans everywhere. You know, I feel like if you go to the jungle in the middle of nowhere, you'll see someone wearing a
2:00
Yankees hat. But, you know, I think about Florida, you know, a lot of New Yorkers come down to
2:04
Florida, whether they're in Miami or Tampa or, you know, in a lot of these nice cities in Florida
2:10
they just kind of settle from New York. So, you know, they bring their fanship and everything
2:15
to Florida. And whenever we play those teams, like you mentioned, whether it's the Rays or the Marlins
2:21
I think they come out in support. So it's very special to see that. And let me tell you, this interview is going to be on the Yankees Spanish official website
2:27
for the podcast of the New York Yankees in Spanish. And let me tell you, the Spanish audience
2:32
the Latino fans, they really like you, man. because you're like an ex-player that you give it your all
2:38
you're very explosive playing in the center field, send them a message. It could be in English
2:42
but a message for all of those fans in Conlas Basis Janas Janus that are going to be watching this interview
2:48
Yeah, to all the fans that are watching this interview, thank you for your support for not only me as a fan
2:52
but also for this organization and the teams where I came from. You know, we had a lot of Spanish background with the St. Louis Cardinals
2:58
A lot of it stemming from Yadir, Malina, and his brother, and his very close friend and associate, Polo
3:04
So, you know, Spanish is, you know, Spanish baseball means a lot to me and my growing up as a young baseball player
3:11
And before I went to University of Florida and, you know, those roots and everything. So it means the world to me
3:15
So thank you guys very much. And I'll keep playing hard for you guys. So thank you. Familia, Harrison Vader
3:20
Let's go. Thank you, man. Appreciate it. That was great
