We have the pleasure of being with Kyle Gigasioca, the catcher of the Yankees of Nueva York
0:06
Kyle, thank you so much for being here with us in this interview. First of all, and we would like to talk to you because during the time
0:13
this is the Spanish podcast of the New York Yankees, and every time that we interview one of the pitchers, Latinos, they talk wonders about you
0:20
They always praise you and they say how much you have helped with everything
0:24
What can you say about some of those guys that you've been together since the minor leagues
0:28
Yeah, I mean, you know, everybody that I came up with here, you know, especially the Latino pitchers, they, you know, they're some of my favorites
0:38
And, you know, we've got some nasty guys here, and it's always a joy to catch them
0:44
So, you know, I just, and I'm glad that, you know, they've kind of accepted me, you know, as a teammate
0:52
I try my best to speak as much Spanish as I can. So, yeah, I really enjoy playing with them
0:58
How is that? Like, how is your Spanish right now? Like, what, like, how is that communication
1:06
Because many of them, every time that we have them on the show, they say how much you help them
1:40
but I don't know. Wow, I'm very impressed. Thank you so much
1:49
Super bien. I mean, now, staying on that point, when you guys are in the game, right
1:57
many of the pitchers and the Yankees, also the American guys, but they relate to you so much
2:02
because you've been in this organization for so long. What does it mean for you to be a Yankee
2:06
It's always a privilege to be putting on the pinstripes every day
2:14
No matter if we're good or if we're struggling, this is the greatest organization in history
2:22
So just to be able to go out for this team every day is always an honor and a privilege
2:29
And it never something you can take for granted Who was that player that baseball guy that you idolized when you were a kid I liked a lot of guys I mean Kevin Griffey Jr was my first guy that I really
2:47
just idolized. He had the video game. I played it. Me too. He was the only guy. He was the only
2:54
real player in the game. Yes, I remember. Yeah. But Gary Sheffield was another
3:00
one. Mike Piazza. Posada. Manny Ramirez. I mean, Andrew Jones
3:10
Those are kind of my guys. Wait, but so you made your dream come true
3:14
Because this year, I remember you being in Miami, wearing that USA
3:18
shirt on your chest. And you were there with Ken Griffey. Tell me about that experience representing your country in the World Baseball Classic
3:26
and had the chance to have Ken Griffey there with you. Yeah, it was really special
3:32
I mean, if I could do that every year, I would because, I mean
3:36
it's probably one of my most cherished baseball memories. Being able to play in meaningful games during March
3:43
and having the opportunity to work with the coaches not only Ken Griffey but we had Andy Pettit Brian McCann Mark DeRosa a lot of really big guys that I watched growing up
3:59
And then the roster was incredible too. It was a fantastic experience
4:05
Of course, you're very young. You're going to still have a great career in Major League Baseball
4:10
But once everything is over, I think that you said before, you love this game so much
4:15
Would you like to, once you retire, be in a manager in baseball one day
4:21
Maybe, maybe. We'll have to see. I mean, I haven't really thought about it that much because I don't want to yet
4:28
No, you have a lot of time. Yeah, I mean, we'll just have to see where, you know, where my career takes me
4:36
Hey, thank you so much for being here with us in this interview. And I'm going to let you send a message to all of the Latino fans
4:42
that are going to be listening and watching to the Yankees podcast
