1. The UK and the US have carried out a fresh set of joint airstrikes in Yemen, in the latest bid to stop Houthi attacks. Defence Secretary Grant Shapps said the latest round of strikes were in “self-defence” and would “deal another blow” to the Iranian-backed militants. 2. The government borrowed much less than expected in December, helped by falling interest payments, in a boost for the government’s hopes of cutting taxes in the Spring Budget. According to figures from the Office for National Statistics (ONS), the government borrowed £7.8bn in December, significantly lower than the £14bn expected by the Office for Budget Responsibility (OBR). 3. The ‘work phone’ could be set for a revival in the City this year as top firms snap up tens of thousands of mobiles to stamp out wayward Whatsapp use by staff, a compliance boss has predicted. 4. Primark owner Associated British Foods reported a 2.8 per cent boost in revenues to £6.8bn in the fourth months to January, as shoppers sought out cheap clothing. In an update to markets, the British firm said retail sales grew 7.3 per cent to £3.3bn thanks to a collaboration with pop-star Rita Ora.
