Will Trump concede Ukrainian land to Russia in peace talks with Putin?

On Friday, Vladimir Putin will visit the US for the first time since 2015, and it’ll be the first meeting with a US president since the Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2022. In the meantime, world leaders will be taking part in a frantic, omnidirectional network of video calls to frame the terms of the summit. Donald Trump has described the summit as a “feel-out meeting” to end the war in Ukraine, but he has also warned that there may be “some swapping, some changes in land”.
