0:00
hi in this video I'm going to show you
0:02
how to make your own Button Art this
0:03
video is less than five minutes because
0:05
it's really easy to do there's a heart
0:07
one I've made but this flower picture is
0:09
the one I'm going to show you in this
0:11
video I'm Christine of christines
0:13
craft.com and this channel is dedicated
0:15
to crafting on a budget so what do you
0:18
need to do some Button Art you need a
0:20
simple piece of canvas mine's a boxed
0:22
canvas a really small one it's only a
0:24
few inches across you're going to need
0:26
some buttons whatever you want or
0:28
whatever you've got available some glue
0:31
I just use an ordinary multi-purpose you
0:33
might want a pencil to draw a design and
0:36
for this one I want a mark pen to draw
0:38
my stems and leaves so the first thing
0:41
you need to do is if you're' taking a
0:43
design from somewhere else you might
0:44
want to draw it out on your canvas
0:47
lightly with a pencil so that you can
0:49
place your buttons on it because mine's
0:51
freestyle I've just got to work out
0:53
where I want these buttons to make my
0:55
flowers so simply place them on if
0:58
you're freestyling and then move them
1:00
around until you're happy with them so
1:02
mentally I'm just drawing those stalks
1:04
in and working out what's going to look
1:08
me once you're happy with all your
1:10
buttons or you've got a general
1:12
placement on your pattern that you've
1:13
got there it's time to glue them in
1:16
place and that's as simple as it sounds
1:19
simply take your glue add a little bit
1:23
button and then put the button in
1:27
place so if you have a design to follow
1:30
make sure you're covering those pencil
1:32
lines so you can't see them at the end
1:35
and if you're freestyling just give us
1:37
some thought to where it's going and
1:38
make sure you put it in the right place
1:39
straight away you don't really want to
1:41
be moving them around and ending up with
1:43
glue on your canvas that's
1:45
showing so then it's simply a case of
1:48
working your way through all your
1:50
buttons another option when you're doing
1:52
Button Art is that you can paint the
1:54
background which I have done in the past
1:57
and then place your B your buttons on
1:58
top of your painted back ground this can
2:01
make a really nice effect too so as you
2:04
can see you just glue them all on if all
2:07
you're doing is putting your buttons on
2:09
glue them all in place and you should
2:10
have your completed artwork if you want
2:13
to make it more detailed or you've got a
2:15
fancier pattern and you're using a pen
2:17
then now is the time let all your glue
2:20
dry so your buttons don't move and then
2:22
you can draw on any extra features so if
2:25
you're looking to do the flower pattern
2:27
like me I've placed a ruler on the
2:29
bottom of the canvas to make sure I stop
2:31
all the stems in exactly the right place
2:33
so it's a nice horizontal line at the
2:36
bottom and then it's simply a case of
2:39
hand drawing those stems in you'll see
2:43
I've curved some one way some the other
2:45
some have curved both ways just add a
2:48
little bit of interest because in the
2:49
real world they're not usually all
2:50
straight so now look at those stems and
2:52
see if you're happy with them in my case
2:54
I think they need to be a little bit
2:55
thicker I don't think they're quite
2:58
clear enough I think when you you're
2:59
looking from a distance they look a
3:02
little bit too skinny so all I'm going
3:04
to do is run along those lines and just
3:08
out and you can see how much thicker
3:10
they look as I work my way
3:14
across then once you've got your flowers
3:16
you've got your stems there's just the
3:19
go it's up to you you might use a little
3:21
stencil but I'm personally just
3:23
freestyling mine and just placing them
3:26
in different positions on each of the
3:29
stems so keep taking a little step back
3:32
have a look see where you think another
3:34
Leaf should go is one per stem enough
3:37
should there be two on some of the stems
3:39
this is your artwork you
3:41
decide just keep taking a a step back
3:44
and have a look some of your leaves
3:46
could be big some could be small they
3:49
don't all have to be exactly the same
3:53
shape and then once you've got all those
3:55
leaves on there you've got a completed
3:57
piece of art so well done that could
4:00
anywhere so as I turn that around you
4:04
completed so thank you for watching I
4:06
hope you've enjoyed my Button Art and I
4:08
hope you enjoy making yours they're also
4:10

4:13

4:15
complex or simple great Valentine gift
