Thai Food in LEAST VISITED Town in Thailand UNSEEN Fishing in Phatthalung!
Jul 22, 2025
Welcome to Thailand's least visited province, Phatthalung. Here you can step back in time to experience what life was like in rural Thailand, and continues to be here in Phatthalung. We start our day on Thailand's largest lagoon learning about the ancient practice of "yok yaw" fishing where fisherman use their weight to lift massive nets from the lagoon. We get to try it ourselves as well as taste the bait fish these fisherman are catching. After our trip to Thale Noi's sea of lotus we pick our own to prepare the stems and roots into southern Thai dishes. This was an unforgettable journey in Phatthalung and I highly recommend you to consider visiting this province on your next trip to Thailand!
