Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Remove the sausage from its casing if necessary and crumble it into the skillet. Cook until browned and cooked through, about 8-10 minutes. 2. Remove the sausage from the skillet and set aside. In the same skillet, add the sliced onion and bell peppers. Sauté until they start to soften, about 5 minutes. 3. Add the minced garlic and sauté for another minute until fragrant. 4. Stir in the diced tomatoes, oregano, and basil. Let the mixture simmer for about 10 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld. 5. Return the sausage to the skillet, mixing well with the tomato and vegetable mixture. Season with salt and pepper to taste. 6. Garnish with fresh basil or parsley if desired.
