Carl, also called "The Monster", is a minor antagonist appearing in the 1995 horror anthology film Tales from the Hood, being the main antagonist of the segment "Boys Do Get Bruised". He was portrayed by famous comedian/actor David Allen Grier. Carl (David Alan Grier) was the main villain of "The Monster", a segment from the 1995 anthology horror film Tales From The Hood. He was the abusive boyfriend of a woman called Sissy, who also beat her nine-year old son Walter. As a result of Carl's abuse, Walter began to envision him as a monster, drawing him as such while at school, which caught the attention of his teacher Richard Garvey (the segment's protagonist) who asked him about bruises he had recently suffered. When Walter claimed that a monster had attacked him. It was also revealed that Walter possessed supernatural abilities that caused him to be able to cause harm to those who he had made drawings of, with this being shown when he crumpled up a drawing of the school bully, resulting in the boy's limbs suddenly shattering. That night, Richard visited Walter's house and asked Sissy about the monster, who feigned ignorance. When Carl returned home, he immediately made his domineering presence known. When Richard mentioned the monster drawings before leaving, Carl said he would "talk" to Walter about them. Following Richard's departure from the house, Carl entered Walter's bedroom, turning heel as he began beating the child, accusing him of making drawings of him as a monster to mock him. Additionally, the evil Carl also attacked Sissy and beat her with a belt when she attempted to intervene. Outside, Richard hear the sounds of the fight and ran in to help Sissy and Walter. Carl then fought both Richard and Sissy in a prolonged fight scene, eventually knocking Sissy to the ground and standing over his helpless girlfriend with a frying pan, preparing to kill her. At that moment, Walter crumpled one of the drawings of the monster into a ball, causing Carl to collapse into a grotesque pile of mangled limbs. Sissy then stomped on the crumpled ball, shattering Carl's neck and killing her villainous boyfriend. After Carl's death, his body was burnt by the protagonists and eventually wound up in the funeral home of Mr. Simms. 🔴 Merch Store https://cedric-taylor-shop.fourthwall.com/collections/all 🔴 Patreon (THE REWIND) https://www.patreon.com/cedtalks85/membership 🔴 HEALTHY SNACKS (YAY NUTS)
