Sea Stars Gather along a Shallow Mozambique Shoreline

A large aggregation of living sea stars can be seen in the shallow intertidal zone of Mozambique. As the tide recedes, the sea stars are left exposed across the sandy seabed, with some surrounded by wet sand as the water moves away. Although they may look stranded or even dead from above, they are alive and naturally occurring in this intertidal habitat.
