It's been 23 years since Jason Robert Brown's The Last Five Years premiered at Chicago's Northlight Theatre. Whitney White was there to see it, and this season, she is at the helm of the first ever Broadway production. watch as she tells us more in this video.

is an incredible musical, iconic musical called The Last Five Years. And I have to nerd out because it premiered about 25 years ago now in Illinois

It was at a theater. In Chicago, that's a very beloved theater

And I've been following the show since. When I was a musical theater kid, those were some of the first songs I've sung

I think it's just one of the most special musical. and the American canon, and that I get to bring it to Broadway is bananas

So I will be giving it my best. Yes I have a long time history with the show so I very excited about it Talk about your two exciting stars who are the nicest people in the world I have Nick Jonas and Adrian Warren I mean they both Titans of the Stage

They are able to command hundreds of thousands of people at one time, and that is a very rare

skill these days. So I think they're going to be electric. It's a very intricate, complex musical landscape, the show, and they're powerhouse singers

They have such huge fan bases, and some people like for Nick have never seen him on stage

It means so much because I think so many incredible artists out there are multifaceted, and so is he

He can do it all. Not only does he command the stage, but he can act, he can sing, and this show's going to bring it all together in a beautiful way
