It's Tony Day, you've got a Tony pin
0:11
Yeah, I guess so! Oh my god, it's crazy! Is it surreal? Like, what's going through your mind
0:17
This has been the craziest day of my life. I got to spend the last couple days with my family after the announcement happened
0:25
and so today is really the day where I walked in and it's sort of really set in
0:30
And I just, I have no words. Like, my brain is scrambled eggs and this is the best day of my life
0:37
Like, I don't know what to do with myself. It's got to be a dream, like when you're a kid wanting to start out
0:41
like, oh my god, I want to do theatre, oh, one day I hope I can come to Broadway, oh my god, and all your peers are here today with a pin on
0:48
All of those things. I'm a die-hard theatre kid. I come from a theatre family, I'm a musical theatre girl through and through
0:55
like, cast albums are like, you know, like, what I listen to, you know
1:00
So, and I gather around the TV with my family every year to watch the Tonys
1:04
and now we're here. And I can't believe it. And now you're going to be there
1:08
I can't believe it! And I'm taking my dad with me, and it's just going to be the best night ever. I love him so much. Yeah
1:17
Being a part of Into the Woods, it's been so magical! Yeah! I mean, you've had so many incredible, like, star cast members
1:23
that would just go into the show for two weeks! It's insane! It's insane. And it's continually the gift that keeps on giving
1:29
They're still telling the story across the country with the tour. And no matter what time this show is revived again
1:37
it will always be relevant to the world that we're living in. And it's beautiful and magical, and I learn something new about it
1:43
every time I see anything about it. Okay, now I know you're really young, but take me back to, like, the young, young, young you
1:49
like, when you were in kindergarten doing your first play. What was that first play? And what would older Julie tell younger Julie now
1:56
Definitely, like, my first, like, memory of, like, performing was I was in dance class when I was, like, two years old
2:05
Tap class, jazz class. I remember I had a little acting class at my elementary school
2:10
where, you know, after every class, they would put some glitter in our hands
2:16
and we would pretend it was magic. And I would, like, play hardcore make-believe
2:21
and I think that was, like, the foundation for wanting to be a performer when I was older
2:26
And, you know, this is kind of one of those dreams where every night before you go to bed
2:30
you're like, oh, please, oh, please, oh, please, one day, let this happen to me
2:34
And now I'm 23, and it's here, and it's happening, and it's like I've blacked out up until now, and all of a sudden it's happening
2:42
It's amazing
