I'm Emily Grace Tucker, and I'm here with Broadway World at the Hudson Theater on the red carpet of the gala performance of All In, a comedy about love
0:08
Come with us. You know, the idea was like, why isn't there a love letters for 2024
0:16
You know, something where amazing performers can come in and read amazing stories, and the audience leans in and uses their imagination
0:23
And so that was kind of the start of the journey. Simon Rich is my favorite comedy writer
0:28
I've always wanted to work with him. like a theater lover, I thought, Simon belongs on Broadway
0:33
Like, his stories are so theatrical. So here we are. I'm very excited about it
0:38
Alex Timbers is the director who they actually have to work with day in and day out
0:42
And I think he's the reason I think why a lot of people are taking a chance on this show
0:46
because they're just so excited for the opportunity to collaborate with them. And that's one of the reasons why I'm here
0:51
I've been a fan of his for years. And we had never met until this project
0:56
Yeah and until he reached out to me and so I just ecstatic at the chance to collaborate with him and with this incredible cast And obviously I know some of the cast I worked with them on other projects but this experience has been so thrilling because I get to sit in and watch Alex work with these performers to find these intimate character portrayals
1:20
And I'm just so excited about how it turned out. It's just always a slight feeling of dread
1:27
Now, I'm excited, but I do always get nervous. Now, this is not your first time on Broadway, correct
1:32
No. No, so you're coming back, but you've always done plays. Are we ever going to get you in a musical
1:38
And if so, what musical do you want to do, and what do you want to play
1:43
Oh, that's a good question. I would say, I'd love to do Sweeney Todd
1:51
But it would be a mistake to cast me because I couldn't sing it
1:57
And by the way people have you know that been floated and discussed and the community has said no to me So there no musical coming down Well I would pay good money to see you do that
2:10
I think some people in a Florence Foster Jenkins type setting of, like, this delusional idiot thinks he can sing might pay to see it
2:17
But, yeah, I don't know if night after night. Is there anything that you are, like, really striving and looking forward to
2:22
people you're going to meet, anything like that? No, just doing a good show every night
2:27
It's, well, they're paying me. I better do it. I love the whole process of it
2:32
So what I was looking forward to has already happened. Like the fact that we've already been working on it
2:38
that every day we work on specific words, it's already happening. All my dreams of what I wanted it to be has already come true
2:46
I'm looking forward to the fact that my husband is seeing the show for the first time tonight. And this is a show about love
2:53
I think of the writer Simon Rich knows what love is. I'm telling you
2:58
He he he he celebrates it in the so many forms in this show And I I I the person that feeds me and fuels me in the way that it makes it easy to tell these stories is here seeing the show for the first time
3:13
This is a show all about love stories. We're curious if there's anything that you are currently falling in love with
3:19
It could be a person, it could be a pet, it could be a food. What are you currently falling in love with
3:24
I am currently falling in love with these spandex, elastic bows I can put on my baby daughter's head
3:31
because they stay on and then she's got a bow on her head all day
3:35
and she doesn't even know it. There's a podcast called A History of Rock Music in 500 songs
3:42
It's so good. I thought I knew about music. I know nothing
3:49
It's so good. I can't get enough of it. What is something that you are falling in love with currently
3:55
It could be a TV show. It can be a food. It can be a pet. It can be a person. Yeah, I can..
4:02
A person, but I'm not telling you. I mean, we knew Hudson
4:06
So there you go
