What's up, Broadway World? It's me, Katie Lynch, here at the season three launch party of survival jobs, the podcast
0:08
Let's see if we can survive the night. To feel the love in the room of people we've like interviewed, people who like want to be interviewed, like, it's just really incredible to have that support and that love
0:20
And the energy in here is amazing. So I am so pumped. We're so grateful for the space and the platform to continue to grow
0:29
and to continue to get inspiring stories. So. Thank you. We started this in the pandemic as a way to be creative
0:38
because we were sitting at home and we're like, putting our fingers. Like, what do we do
0:42
And to see, like, three years later, it's still happening. We're still reaching new heights
0:46
We're like, we like are big manifesters. We're still thanking for the outlet and opportunity to share stories of other people
0:52
and to share our own stories as well. Well, first of all, I love these two so much
0:56
I mean, they're personal friends, but I've also been on the show. and I love what they do
1:01
I love the idea of influencing people and encouraging people to continue their passions
1:06
and know that you might have to have a survival job every once in a while
1:11
But the turnout is incredible. We knew the vibe was going to be right, but it is always special to walk in and be like
1:16
oh my God, my friend is killing it and everyone feels this love
1:20
And I'm just so happy for them. I'm so happy to be here supporting my girl, Samantha
1:24
and my boy, Jason. I got nothing but love for them and happy to see old friends
1:29
celebrate them in the new season. I had so much fun when I was on the podcast
1:34
I like I just want to see more of that seeing how people you know their survival jobs hearing their stories I think it was cool like listening through like through the season Like people how they got here and all this stuff it takes a lot to get to like
1:49
Broadway and to this world and everything. And to hear people's stories, sometimes you can, like, you understand them
1:57
And then they're funny and you empathize and everything. So I just want to bigger, better, bolder, go for it
2:03
I want to hear it all. I mean, I guess I imagine in like by your third season
2:07
you have to like use the best of what you've got and keep doing that
2:11
but also like find a way to keep it fresh and new. It's just sort of like working on a Broadway show
2:16
It's like you've worked on it for years. All you get is notes. What works? What doesn't
2:21
But also like how do you keep reinventing it to keep it alive for now
2:25
So I guess I wish them like life, love, newness and all the good shit
2:32
Can I say shit on Broadway world? Right. Shit. Well, and Matt, as the father of toddlers, can say that three is a really fun year
2:41
They're walking, they're talking, they're emoting. You better like bring it. And I think it's really exciting to have a three-year-old podcast
2:50
It's all very excited. I think season three of anything is always very exciting because season one's your debut
2:56
Season two, you're kind of finding, you know, what's working and what's growing and what we should focus on
3:01
Season three, you're like, we're here, we're established. Sex in the City, season three, amazing
3:07
You literally just stole my example. Oh, well, we've been married very long time. Yeah
3:14
It amazing I mean they were one of the first podcasts I ever did And so to see us both grow in what we doing it always good to support other artists I feel that genuinely because rising tides lifts all boats
3:28
So when one person does well, we all do well. So I'm so happy to see how big this has grown
3:34
and I just can't wait to see what's coming more down the pike. So it's an amazing podcast
3:39
I can't wait to listen to your episode. Oh, my God. Very excited. I was so happy when Sammy and Jason called
3:45
me and asked me to be on it, just honored. Any words of encouragement for them heading into season three
3:52
I just think they have such a welcoming dynamic. And I know for me, it made me feel so at ease and excited to share with them
4:01
And I just think if they just keep embracing their authentic selves, it's a home run
4:06
There's no way it can't be great. That is almost exactly what I was going to say
4:09
I feel like the heart of a podcast is something that keeps people coming to it
4:15
And maybe in season three, continue to go back to why you started in the first place
4:20
What's one word of encouragement you have for them launching into season three
4:25
Oh, man. Oh, the first word that comes into mine is trust. Just, like, trust that this is an amazing podcast, and it's sharing so much wonderful information with the community
4:36
Oh, my gosh. They don't need anything from us. They don't need any, but just like, I can't wait to listen to it
4:42
Yeah, just keep going. Just keep going. People love it. It's hard sometimes when you're like throwing content out into the ether and you you don't get that direct feedback from like an audience
4:51
But people are listening people love it keep doing it We love hearing stories as an actor I love to hear the stories of when other actors who are now successful we struggling and working hard and on the grind It really inspiring
5:05
So those stories are great. Keep sharing them. Keep listening to them. Words of encouragement
5:10
Be present. Have fun. Be silly. Remember why you do what you do
5:14
Be intentional. I love you. Oh, continue to be authentic and continue to just like dig, be honest, be playful
5:22
Like just continue to love it. I think that when you love something, it is so infectious that people fall in love with it as well
5:30
So I think just reminding them to always, like, have fun with it, keep it light
5:34
And, like, just don't, they're a big fish. I want them to just continue to reach out to everybody
5:40
I think I want people to come onto the show because it is such a love letter to the craft
5:45
and, like, staying in the craft for so long. So I think that it just keep dreaming bigger and bigger and bigger
5:51
Like Sam and I, we manifest things together. That is our thing. Yeah, so I'm just going to always tell her, tell them, think bigger, dream bigger, and it'll come
6:02
Just be their amazing selves because authenticity is key. I loved talking to them because they are such genuine people
6:09
But on top of it, just keep striving to help those around them
6:14
I feel this is a very helpful podcast. And when you are doing good in the world by sharing information, such as this where actors need survival jobs
6:22
The whole point of acting is to share the human story, but if you can't pay your rent
6:27
that puts you in a bit of a downturn to not be able to do your art. So this is a very vital resource that I believe can help lots of people
6:35
and I just continue to wish them all the sex in the world
