I am so excited that you were sitting here

Me too. I mean, this is wild. You all got nominated. I know

I feel so grateful to the nominators. I think in a three-person play, it's very evident to us that the system does not function without one of the parts

But I think it's not that often that every person in a cast, I mean, there are only three of us, but that everyone is recognized

And it really makes all of this so, so special. Did you all talk that night when you went to the theater

Like, oh my gosh. Oh, yes. I mean, we all texted that morning

And we're so grateful. And I think the collaboration with Jim and Jessica has been so meaningful

And I think, you know, awards can, if everybody isn't included, it can make it a little bit harder

And I think we would have totally survived. But the fact that we all get to be here today, it's really, really meaningful

Because you've done some amazing pieces of work with some incredible actors

What's made this one so special? You know, I feel so lucky

I do. I have had so many wonderful experiences. But this collaboration, it was different than anything I've done

And I can't tell. It's so mysterious, like, why things work that way

And I think it must all really go back to Paula. But that Paula made this piece that really asks all of us to examine these relationships with our families and with love and forgiveness

And that when you write a play that really asks these big questions, then everyone involved, including the designers, have to sort of weigh in and make themselves, open themselves up to the process

And I think in doing that, we became, like, very connected with one another and very dependent on each other

Audiences have fallen in love with this play. Every diversity, every age

Many people coming for the very first time to see a live show

What that means to you. I know. I think, you know, what's so incredible about Jessica and Jim is that they bring people to the theater that wouldn't necessarily come otherwise

And the fact that they're being brought to a Paula Vogel play that was directed by Tina Landau

Like, these are now artists that will loom larger in the collective imagination

And I just think I'm so grateful that they decided to do this piece and that they have such a fan base that's showing up

Who's that? That's William Jackson Harper. I know, I was with him four nights ago at the opening and now he's a Tony nominee
