Hi guys, how are you
0:01
Good, how are you? I'm good, I'm so excited to speak with you guys today
0:06
We first saw you guys together in Modern Family, but a couple of years later, what was it like now to reunite on this new series
0:14
Amazing. You liked it? You did like it. I liked it. I liked it too, yeah
0:22
I mean, honestly, it was the best. Sarah and I are friends
0:27
I think she's super talented and I think we have great chemistry with each other
0:32
It's nice, we have such a shorthand where we can finish each other's... Burritos. Sandwiches
0:40
And we both didn't say... Yeah, we both didn't say a sentence
0:45
Yeah, we're good like that. Yeah. Well, Adam, you were in the original Pitch Perfect movies
0:52
Sarah, you're sort of new to the whole franchise. So from the perspective of a returning cast member
0:58
and someone who is new, what do you guys both think that Pitch Perfect fans
1:03
will like about this new series? Oh, I know that they're... Like, I am a fan of the franchise itself
1:11
So from my perspective, I feel like there are a lot of like Easter eggs
1:15
within the series from the movies that I recognized. And I think it just like
1:22
I think essentially to its core, it's just really about friendship and community
1:28
and making each other better people and grow for your highest self. Adam
1:37
Yeah, and to that point, I think it's also... There's some familiar characters that you know
1:44
and you love from the movies, obviously, but it's also just a breath of fresh air
1:49
I'm like, it's... It obviously will feel like the Pitch Perfect movies
1:54
but it's in Germany. It feels different. It feels new and fresh
2:00
And I think just over the past few years, everything has felt so heavy that it's nice
2:05
just to have something that is just unabashedly fun. And that's what we try to do with the show
2:12
Yeah, I love it. Well, one of my favorite parts about all of the Pitch Perfect movies
2:16
and now the series are the musical numbers. And there are some great ones in this new series
2:22
Do you guys have a personal favorite that you are really excited for audiences to see
2:28
One of my personal favorites is the Shaggy's Was It Me number that Adam and I do
2:35
It's a very like kind of jazzy rendition of it. So it's super unexpected
2:40
And so while it's hysterical in that regard, we're very serious about it
2:46
And it's this big dance routine on this... We shot at this really, really cool old theater in Berlin
2:52
And it was amazing for me to be able to kind of like
2:56
stretch my muscles a little bit into like my old theater days of singing and dancing
3:02
And it was so fun. The choreography was amazing. And you're a great dance partner, Adam
3:08
Thank you. And speaking of stretching muscles, I feel like I didn't stretch my muscles enough
3:14
because I pulled my groin shooting one of the first big dance numbers that we shot
3:20
Oh my gosh. The Kings and Queens in the very first episode of the show
3:25
where we're singing Kings and Queens, we have like the light up glow sticks
3:30
Yeah, I kicked my leg up and pulled my groin. So I'm an old man now, but I feel one of my favorite was
3:39
we did a Barbie girl, Aqua's Barbie girl rendition. And it was super fun and we shot it
3:48
It was all in one take. And I think it turned out awesome
3:52
It reminded me of like old movie musicals where they could really only do it in one shot
3:59
And it showed like how talented some of those actors were. I'm not saying I'm that talented
4:04
but I think the shot turned out great. Well, all musical numbers, amazing
4:10
I love the series so much. So thank you guys so much for speaking with me today
4:14
Thank you, Michael. ♪ I'm a true singer.
4:46
Bumper, focus up. Yep. You are going to perform at German Unity Day
4:52
It's like the 4th of July meets a Super Bowl halftime show. Except that we are way cooler about showing nipples here
4:58
Bumper Allen's going to try to play at Unity Day? It doesn't have the range
5:02
I can go from to to I just think that you know, so I'm amazing
5:14
The proper performance is hard even for the most seasoned performers. Don't worry, I work better under pressure
5:20
What's up, Berlin? Nope. Come out of here. Nope. Nope
5:33
I've wanted to be famous my entire life. I thought Berlin was going to change everything
5:38
It still could. If you don't take a risk, you don't grow
5:45
Somebody get the mash because Bumper's song is a banger. What if we turn this into a riff-off
5:52
You Americans, you are obsessed with your riff-off. Riff-off. Riff-off. Riff-off. You said riff-off, I said riff-off. Okay
6:14
Woo! I'm not like a corny acapella guy. I'm cool, right? Right
6:27
Right? I'm not like a corny acapella guy
6:46
I'm cool, right? Right? Right? I'm cool, right? Right? I'm cool. I'm cool
6:52
