Perfect Your Pre-Audition/Show/Self-Tape Skincare on The Dressing Room with Jamie Glickman!

episode of the dressing room where we talk about everything at the intersection of theater style

and beauty in today's video I'm going to be taking you along on my skincare routine that I do

before I have an audition or I have a self-tape because it just helps me feel really hydrated and

awake and centered because today it is a spring morning, it's eight o'clock and my face is feeling

real puffy and real tired and this skincare routine has helped me to feel alive. Okay so

the first step that I usually do in the morning is shower which I have done. The first step

after the shower is a facial mask. I don't do a mask every morning. It is a little time consuming

but if you leave a little bit extra time or you have some time, it's a great step to just wake up

your face and make it feel really hydrated. This is the Hydra Biome Greek yogurt face mask. It is

a little pricey, but I use such a small amount that it is worth it because I've had it for a long time

I tried this a while ago and I have just loved it. It makes my face just feel so cool and like just delicious

And I love Greek yogurt. You can't eat this though. Oh, got it in my hair

That's fine. You can just wipe it out. I didn't do that thick of a layer because I don't think this mask needs that thick of

a layer to work. This is just the right amount for me

It also saves a lot of the product. It's also really just great to have on in the morning before an audition because

you can just leave this on for 10 minutes while you go over your song or your lines or whatever it is that you need to go over So yes I love this mask It is a probiotic face mask with real

Greek yogurt that rehydrates, soothes, and supports the rebalance of skin's natural protective layer

in just one use. It's for a normal dry combination and oily skin. It's also cruelty-free and just

great. So I just wiped off this face mask. There really wasn't that much to wipe off because my

skin like drank all of it. So now I'm going to do a little bit of cleanser. I usually do that in

the shower, but I'm going to do it for you right here, right now on camera. I'm going to be using

this CeraVe foaming facial cleanser. I use this all the time. It's for normal to oily skin. It

is fragrance free and it has hyaluronic acid and niacinamide. I'm just going to do a tiny tiny bit

of this and then wash it off. Now I am going to put on a serum. This is a Derma E Advanced Peptide

and Collagen Serum and it is a nourishing double action powerhouse serum that is formulated with

multi peptides and it helps reduce the appearance of lines, wrinkles, it's a plant extract

it's powerful, there's antioxidants, it helps with collagen, it's all the good things. So I'm

just going to take a little bit of this and stamp it onto my skin like that. And I just put a little

bit on the neck because you can't forget the neck because your neck is very important. So while the

peptide serum is on my face, I like to put some under eye cream on and I use the Eye

Duty Niacinamide Brightening Cream from First Aid Beauty This is my favorite eye cream that I ever used for the morning because it has like a nice like not glitter but like shimmer kind of thing going on which definitely helps to brighten

Like you'll see, do you see what I'm talking about? Yeah, it is just lovely and feels so good

and really actually brightens. Like you could, can you see the difference

I like to bring it down to like this area, even though it's eye cream, it's fine

Who cares? So now that I have my serum on and I have my under eye cream on

now I like to use some face tools. So I have this gua sha

So a gua sha is the practice of using a tool to apply pressure and scrape the skin

to relieve pain and tension. And it comes from the Chinese word for scraping

I find that I get so much tension in my jaw and this just feels so good. I take it up and I kind

of press in here and then I drag it down on my neck. I also take it on my forehead and I

I bring it up over here. I do get a little bit of redness from this but it just goes away. It's

really just the blood flowing to my face, which is good because you need blood flow on your face

and you need like your body to recognize that your face like needs some love. So it will go away

by the time you are ready to present yourself to the world. I really love this little thing over

here because it fits very nicely on your jaw. And if you have jaw tension, like I said, this feels

like just unlike anything you've ever felt. And it's just so amazing. And I always press right in

here where I tense my jaw up and I just bring it down my neck. Lots of neck tension. Ooh

The next step is moisturizer I just like to use a little bit because that serum really is very moisturizing as well as the under eye cream but I going to be using this coconut water cream from First Aid Beauty It also smells like vacation which everyone loves

Bring it down to your neck again, because you just can't forget your neck. Okay, so now that the moisturizer is on

I am going to spray my face with this rose water spray

This is the Heritage Store Rosewater Refreshing Facial Mist. It is vegan, cruelty-free, free of dyes, and free of alcohol

And I have really sensitive skin, and this has never broken me out. It just kind of leaves my skin feeling very refreshed at the end

and I just like to do this at the end of my skincare routine. I always put this Vaseline Lip Therapy on my lips

This is my favorite Vaseline product. It just has like a little rosy tint to it

and I sometimes just use this as like my lip product for the day. Anyone else who uses this

do you have a really hard time opening it? I just feel like it's like a trap. I love this stuff

Okay. But my last, last, last step is to put on some sunscreen. Sunscreen is very important. The

sun is very strong. It's April, but I think that's when the sun's rays are most powerful. So it's

always good to protect your skin. I'm using this Ultra Sheer Face Mist in SPF 55. You can get this

at your local drugstore, CVS, Walgreens, whatever. I love the smell of sunscreen. I just feel like

I'm on a beach. Well, that is it. I am so happy. I feel so hydrated and so much more awake than I

did at the beginning of the video. And I cannot recommend these skincare products more. If you
