Hi, I'm Stephen Brackett. I'm nominated for Best Director for A Strange Little Thing

How does it feel to be nominated for Best Director for A Strange Little Thing
0:08
Crazy. It's really, really crazy. Like, what's going through your mind today
0:12
I mean, a lot. This whole thing has felt really joyous and a little surreal
0:19
So it's just crazy. It's crazy to be here. It feels like I sort of wonderfully did not know quite what to expect
0:29
but it's been a real joy ride so far. Because, you know, Broadway was never where it was going to go, the show
0:35
And all of a sudden, here you are introducing this beautiful musical to a brand new Broadway audience. Yeah
0:40
What that means to you. Yeah. I mean, listen, we've been working on this piece forever, right
0:45
I have a decade of working on it. I feel like Michael has been working on this from infancy, right
0:53
So we, for a long, long time, just thought that we were never going to be able to get this to a stage
0:59
that it was too challenging, that it was too specific. And so every single moment that we've actually got to do this in front of an audience has felt extremely rewarding
1:10
Taking it to Broadway has been unbelievable. There's something about being able to open your doors to that bigger audience that just feels thrilling, right
1:22
And for it to be getting the recognition that it's getting right now, it's just like we didn't even know to dream this big, right
1:29
And so it feels unbelievable. You're wearing a Tony pin. I am. I am. I am
1:36
My very first Tony pin
