Hi guys, how are you? Good, how are you Michael? Hi. Good, I am so excited to speak with the both
0:06
of you today. Starting out, I think both of you have some experience in musical theatre
0:12
if I'm correct. So what was it like getting to bring those skills to the big screen for the series
0:18
It was so satisfying. I mean, we both went to school for musical theatre. I graduated in 2020
0:24
so it's very fresh on my mind. And it's such a great experience to be able to bring all the
0:30
things that you learned and all the things that you've loved your whole life, like all the iconic
0:35
musical theatre performers that have existed, and then be able to create your own character and be
0:40
that for yourself. It's amazing. It's incredible. I feel like I've trained my whole life for this
0:46
moment. And I also felt like I would never have this opportunity on screen. You can do musicals
0:53
but it's not too often that you get to do like several musicals. It's almost like we're doing 10
0:59
musicals for this. So it's really exciting to be able to showcase everything that we love and that
1:04
we hold so dear to our heart for the world to see. Yeah, I mean, and the musical numbers in this
1:10
series are stellar. Do you guys have a favourite one that you can't wait for audiences to see when
1:16
the series comes out? I have to choose? I don't know what we're allowed to say. Oh, yeah
1:24
In the, I love Grease is the Word. I love Grease is the Word. That one you've seen before. In the
1:31
trailer, which is out, there's a moment in an auto body shop, and featuring this one right here
1:39
And I think that is absolutely a standout number. And I would say that's one of my favourites
1:45
Amazing. I didn't say what it was. Yeah, but you might be seeing it very soon. Yes. Well
1:51
I'm sure everyone is going to love them. As two musical theatre professionals, I'm sure you guys
1:57
are fans of the original Grease movie. So what was it like getting to create it for a new generation
2:02
in the series? Yeah, it's kind of scary. Like knowing that Grease has such a huge part, it's
2:08
such a huge part of our culture. And it's so many people have have watched this show or this movie
2:14
their whole life and know these characters and these and these like social groups and the
2:18
expectations for Grease are really high. They obviously set the bar incredibly high. And I think
2:24
what's been so great is the thankfully Annabelle has given us these characters that are very
2:29
different than than any of the characters in original Grease. None of us are trying, there
2:33
was no expectation of us to be like them or to be those characters. And like, we get to be, you
2:39
know, play these characters in our own specific way and make our own choices. And it's been so
2:44
so amazing to do with like this cast of people. It's such an ensemble show. So we all get to play
2:50
off each other. It's just like, it's just the best time. It really is. Yeah, there's so much
2:53
nostalgia too. And you're right, there's a lot of responsibility. But with that responsibility comes
2:58
great pride that we have in our work that we are doing. And just knowing that it's going to be
3:04
different. These characters are different. We're not the same. We're not we're not trying to recreate anything either. It's not a reboot. It's something totally unique and special. And all of
3:13
these stories are going to be so exciting for everyone to see. And they're going to see themselves
3:18
in it. We're really excited for everyone to watch. Good morning, boys and girls
3:26
Thank you for the best summer of my short life. And welcome to the 1954 to 55 school year. Olivia, save your seat for my lap
3:40
Sure to be our greatest year at Rydale, yes. We promised Roy and Bill we'd eat lunch with them
3:46
today. To end the divisions among us. I want to be a T-Bird. And become a truly united Rydale
3:55
He told me exactly what you did to get that jacket. It's not as bad as it seems. These things blow over. Maybe for you. There are a lot of kids in
4:08
Rydale who are sick of feeling like they're not welcome here. I know what it feels like to not be
4:14
like the others. We have to think big, really change things. Everyone already thinks we're
4:24
such bad girls. Watch out fellas, it's a girl game. We're not girls, we're ladies. The Pink Ladies
4:35
We're gonna need some jackets. The Pink Lady pledge is to act cool, to look cool, and to be
4:44
cool. Till death do us part, think pink. The world's changing, boys
5:00
Maybe sometimes you gotta be bad to do good
