I was just there at camp and I was sitting on the floor with the other girls

and she said, for ten minutes I want you to just write and brag about yourself for ten minutes

Which is really hard for me to do as a woman especially. No one was going to think that we were conceited

And the girls were terrified to get up there, but one by one they would push themselves to get up there

I remember one of them especially said, didn't want to go. And we said, what are you afraid of

And a tear came down and she read her whole thing. The very first thing being, I am extremely smart

And the idea that she was afraid to tell everyone how smart she was

was heartbreaking to me, but also like the perfect lesson. There we are with these women that know deep down

that they have something so special to offer the world. That's sort of the mission for all of us at A Broader Way
