It's a privilege to pee
0:03
Water's worth its weight in gold these days. No more bathrooms like in olden days
0:11
You come here and pay a fee for the privilege to pee
0:19
Literally just left one town for another town, right? Yeah, I came on up out of the underground
0:26
Yeah, I had a beautiful 14, almost, 15 months at Hades Town
0:31
to go from one town to another. Basically playing the same track
0:36
I mean, Bobby Strong is kind of Orpheus of this fictional town
0:41
You can call him a rabble-rouser. You can call him a whatever. But ultimately, he's just a force for good
0:46
And much like Orpheus, he sees the world the way that it should be. And he is gonna make that happen
0:52
Regardless of what happens to him, something affects him early on, act one
0:58
like changes his life. and then he's like born again with, you know, a new, new sight through hope
1:06
And I think that like we all kind of go through, regardless of how funny it is
1:10
regardless of like it very traditional musical theater construction we all go through things like that in life It might not be a fictitious town where you have to pay to pee
1:22
but in a lot of ways we have to pay to pee
1:27
And we know that we shouldn't be denied the right to pee
1:32
when it's something that we have to do. So I just think that, like, it's incredible how
1:41
Poignant. You're in town is right now. I hope it does well
1:47
I hope it does well. I hope we get a run elsewhere
1:52
I think that this show is so special. I'm having the time of my life
1:56
I play Hope Cladwell, the daughter of Caldwell B. Gladwell, the head of Yerng Good Company
2:01
or UGC, as it's known for short. And I fall in love with the leader of this rebellion and strike
2:06
And so it's this beautiful Starcrest Lover story, and Hope really gets to go from
2:10
this sense of kind of ignorant bliss to knowing who she is a person as a person and what she wants to do with her life in this world
2:17
I play the villain of the piece, Caldwell Be Cladwell, and it's just a great classic villain role
2:24
I mean it you he charming and sleazy and fun and ridiculous and over the top and and mustache twirling A couple of great song and dance numbers and it just it couldn be great fun
2:41
And I remember seeing Yurintown on Broadway 20 some years ago and how incredible John Cullum was
2:48
And his voice, of course, is, you know, world class. So I'm not going to be able to follow in those footsteps, but it's great
2:57
to be in these villainous shoes. I play Miss Penelope Pennywise. She's the head of public amenity number nine
3:06
in this made up place called You're in town. Well, I mean, yeah, sort of
3:14
And she's a very empowering woman. She's also going to work hard
3:20
whether it's the good side or the bad side. She's going to make it happen
3:25
And you sort of see all of that transpire throughout the production, which is actually really fun for me. I love playing that
3:32
I play Mr. McQueen, who is the villain's right-hand man, and I love about him that you don't
3:41
ever have to smile You just look like you sucking on a lemon and that feels fun I hope I don get lines from it Botox I need Botox I about to play Little Sally
3:54
I love her so much. She's actually so much like me, because she's a little bit sarcastic
4:00
She's funny. She has a good time, and she definitely has, like, a bond with people
4:07
So, yeah, like this one. Yeah, yeah. I play Officer Lockstock, who is
4:12
enforcing the pay-to-pea law. He's typically a hard, hard person, maybe sometimes mean and scary
4:21
but he really does have a soft spot for Little Sally, which is maybe the best thing about him, I think
4:26
A shining world is just reason to sweat or anger or gladness
4:34
just left me and play
