I got loves more good it, cheats it constantly
0:04
Sometimes I get to wandering. Does she love it more than me
0:08
Does she love it more than me? I play Melissa Gimble, and she stumbles into the world of Shmigadoon with Josh
0:17
And we're just sort of observing classic musicals and commentating on it the entire time, in a loving way
0:25
Yes. I play Josh Skinner, a doctor who hates musicals. so it's a huge stretch for me
0:31
And I mean that genuinely. The hardest part I'm having is my whole time
0:35
essentially until the end of this show, I have to actively abhor musicals
0:40
which is completely antithetical to who I am, and it's impossible to watch people on stage
0:44
during these rehearsals and not feel pride, joy, and have to tamp those down
0:48
is the hardest thing I've had to do in years. Oh, I'm Florence Menlove
0:54
I play the wife of Mayor Menlov. What do I love about her
0:58
thing. She's so kind and she loves her husband so, so much. She's completely
1:04
accepting and warm and, you know, I love her. And I'm playing Mayor Menlove
1:11
who does have a small secret that we will find out in the course of the piece
1:17
But I love, he's a good guy. He wants everyone to be happy
1:23
He wants Shmigadoon to be the place that, you know, to maintain this joy
1:28
world. And so yeah, there's a very positive feeling that I enjoy
1:34
I'm playing Betsy. She's the farmer's daughter. And she's a little flirtatious
1:39
She's a little shameless in her flirtation. And she's got her eyes set on Josh
1:44
And I love her tenacity. Oh my God I playing Doc Lopez And he is he had some hurts in his past and some loss and that made him hard a little cold
1:56
And then he falls in love and is a changed man in the end. Oh, I play Emma Tate, the school marm
2:02
She's based on Mary than Librarian. But she's a little more progressive than Mary in the librarian because she gets to dance a bit
2:07
So I get to be serious and then silly in my dancing, which I love
2:13
I think it really, I play Danny Bailey. It's the like Billy Bigelow character, and I think it really encompasses this sort of half-love letter to the thing
2:21
and also poking fun at it. It's like a whole carousel arc, but in a very unserious way
2:26
Well, I play Mildred Layton, who is married to the Reverend Layton
2:31
and she's sort of the archetypal prim proper villainous. Yeah, who's just sort of, she's just type A controlling, you know, in a fun way
2:45
A fun book banner. Yes. Yes, and the Reverend Layton is the opposite of that
2:51
Very soft-spoken, a doormat of a man. But, you know, maybe he'll come out of his shell a little bit during the show
3:01
It's fun. It's especially fun right now when the world feels a little complicated
3:08
So it's great to walk into a place where every day is just about finding joy
3:14
and finding laughter. That sounds so trite, but I don't know how to say that
3:18
any more truthfully. Yeah, it's true. We keep saying, it's such a great cast
3:25
it's such a great group of people. Everybody in the room is just having fun and enjoying it
3:31
and is super talented. And I find us like watching other people do their scenes
3:36
and laughing. And that's like been the most fun for me is watching everybody else
3:41
It's so fun
