Character Breakdown: JUST IN TME Cast Unpacks Their Roles

The YouTube rabbit hole started, and seven years later, I'm still in it

I'm still, like, literally still watching YouTube's of him watching him. He is a supernova performer, phenomenal Grammy-winning recording artist, Oscar-nominated actor, prolific producer

but it's his like, by all accounts, too, for the people that saw him live

It's his connection to the audience and his magic of existing in the present moment as a musician

that really sets him apart from all the rest. And Samadavis Jr. said the only act he wouldn't follow was Bobby Darren because he was so electric on stage

The obsession started with watching videos of him performing. Then I got this book called Dream Lovers written by his son, Dodd Darren

the Magnificent Shattered Lives of Bobby Darren and Sandra D. chapter, chapter, one chapter is about Bobby, the next is about Sandy

And it's like, you can't put it down. This book is like hot

The stuff that he's sharing about his parents' lives apart and together

And then out comes all of this fascinating material about the life of Bobby Darren from his sort of death sentence from when he was eight years old the doctor saying he wouldn live past 16 He made it to 37 and felt like he was living on borrowed time

And then I don't want to spoil it for people that don't know his family story, but some insane revelations about who he thought he was and who he actually was

Ms. Sanjadhi? I can't, I mean, my mom was like a huge fan of, like, Gidjo when it came out

And then the remake was Sally Fields, which is different than Sanjee. I think what's so wild is Sandra D for a lot of people

the thing that they might know about her is, you know, the song from Greece, which is kind of wild because Sandra D had a massive, like, star

She is a star. And when she and Bobby Daring got together, like, that is like when

who are, like, hot teeny boppers who are, like, dating? Like, I don't know, if Sabrina Carpenter starts dating, like

who's like a hot man these days? I don't know. All the kids

All the kids. All the kids. Like, that's how big they were. And Sandra, I love her because very similar to me

I think she had a very chaotic life. She, you know, if you go into sort of the annals of history for her, dark

But she lived with like such vibrant positivity and joy when she was on screen when she was opposite Bobby And I think my favorite thing is you can even see in her movies The difference between how she is as a person when she not opposite Bobby and then when Bobby ends up being her lover on screen

you just see her gain a level of maturity and confidence and just comfort in herself

And I think that's so special is to see how these two sort of brought one another from

child, teen, stardom, into like real adult work. together and a real adult relationship

And I'm excited for people to learn the things they don't know about her. As a human being, I love how she is both incredibly graceful and has so much poise as a performer

and so much control. And then as a person behind the scenes from the research that I've done, I think she's like

a really tough, smart, clever East Coast girl. and I love how both of those things coexist for her

I play Kirshner, and I'm actually Bobby Darren's first collaborator, first manager in the show, lifelong friend

So there's quite a history between these two gentlemen, and they kind of started each other's careers together

And then what's beautiful about this show is that you going to see Broadway vets playing multiple characters throughout the entire show It going to be really surprising and really fun So I play Steve Blowner who was Bobby manager and I also play a guy named Charlie Mafia

His last name really is Mafia. Spell with 2Fs, not to be confused, with the Mothers and Fathers' Italian Association

Anyway, they're so much fun. Both of them are fun. Charlie is fantastic

Charlie is really Bobby's brother-in-law. He works with him a little bit

And I also do two other cameos, which we won't talk about right now. We'll just leave that, and that'll be a little surprise when it comes

But Charlie's fantastic. Blounter's a tough guy. And to draw a distinction between the two is the challenge for me

Well, I'm the old broad. And I played Bobby's mother, mother with a twist

And she was really, truly, a vaudeville performer, which kind of lends itself to half of my personality

already, which is just living large. And so the idea that so much of who he ended up being on stage

you know, she gave to him from her, like, limited sort of career

And the joy and performing and his connection to the audience, I feel like a lot of that came from her

And that's a gift to be able to share that, especially with him, who I just adore
