I play Toni Lafayette, who is essentially the matriarch of the family
0:19
the executor of the estate. And what I love about her, there are too many things to mention
0:26
but she's incredibly fierce. She's funny. She has a lot of grit, tenacity
0:33
and she has a big heart, actually. I play Beau, who's the middles of the three siblings
0:41
And, you know, he's the seemingly stable one, the one who seemingly has everything together
0:50
And I really have such a great arc in this play. It took me a while to sort of figure out, you know
1:00
who this guy was and why he was so interesting to play
1:03
But once we figured that out, I really think he's a really intriguing, relatable character
1:13
He's very complex. He's very unconscious in a certain way. And really trying to find his way through something
1:22
I really think he wants to do right and to be better
1:28
And I love that about him so much. Yeah, I love his earnestness in that pursuit
1:37
Well, I play River, and I brought a little her tonight because I'm like, I got to do another show tomorrow
1:43
So I'm trying to make these. They're fake, but I'm trying to make them last
1:46
But, hey, they look kind of cool with this. It's fine. She is Michael Esper plays Franz
1:54
and she is Franz's fiance. So she's not one of the siblings, but she's kind of an outsider on the Lafayette family
2:00
And she has a very different perspective than everyone else. And I think she easily could be written off
2:06
as just like this kind of hippie, vegan, flower child. But especially in the second act
2:12
you see there's more to her than meets the eye. And actually, her perspective is quite a beautiful one
2:18
and one that is maybe one of the most sane amongst everyone else
2:22
I don't know. Yeah. I play Rachel. So I'm the, I play Corey Stoll's wife
2:31
and he's the brother, the middle child. And I love her because she's an outsider to this family
2:40
She has a different perspective that I think only when you're not in the family
2:45
are you able to see. And I love that. And I think she's so
2:52
comes in together, comes in trying to make it work. And you slowly get to see her decline as the play goes on
2:59
And I love that she gets to break with the rest of them. Yeah
3:04
Yeah, I mean, I play Reese, and I love that he's so unabashedly struggling
3:08
I mean, I think, you know, it's all in the writing and on the page
3:12
but to see a young man who's really trying to discover himself and also find his place
3:18
within his own family, I think is something I definitely related to. But also just to remind people
3:23
that no matter what age you are, there's a lot worth trying to figure out
3:27
I play Cassidy, who is one of the youngest characters in the play
3:31
which I think is really incredible because it offers such a unique perspective
3:35
on the issues and the topics being discussed. So I hope that other teenagers and other young people
3:41
will be able to kind of see this character and hopefully understand her journey
3:45
and see a little bit of themselves in her
