I'm so excited to speak with you guys today
0:02
I'm even more excited that Girls 5EVA is finally back. I've been waiting on this season for so long
0:09
We have two. Getting. Looking back to when the series was first renewed for the second season and you found out
0:16
it was coming back. What excited you the most about returning to these characters
0:21
Getting to be with these guys. Yeah, absolutely. I mean, yes, the characters
0:27
But it's also just like the chemistry. of being with these women and our creative team and this music team
0:34
Like it's just, it's such a fun place to go to work. I mean, speaking for myself, I was very interested to see where they were going to take us
0:42
I have no idea. Because I felt like we got left in this cliffhanger, and so we were just like
0:47
what are we going to do next season? And of course, they did not disappoint
0:51
They did not disappoint. I think, you know, in any of these, I think I always feel like the greatest part of any of these jobs is the family that's created
0:59
family that's created. And, you know, we'll love each other forever, but, you know, the family is
1:04
there for a reason. And a season two, or even a press day is about bringing the gang back together
1:11
And so the first thing you're excited about is there's a reason why these four very incredibly
1:16
busy and all over the place people will have to be together for about 14 hours a day. And
1:22
there's nothing better than that. Yeah, I mean, you guys have such great chemistry as a group
1:29
Looking back throughout filming of season two, is there a specific memory or day on set that kind of stands out to as your favorite that you can't wait for audiences to see
1:38
Oh, on set or off? I mean, I guess I'll never see what happens off set
1:43
Oh, my goodness. What would you? I mean, the one that's coming to mind is us filming
1:48
I always loved the days we're performing our big performance. Sorry, the days we're shooting our big performance
1:54
And so we have kind of a finale performance in this season as well
1:59
And we were at Terminal 5, which is one of the great music venues
2:03
of New York City. And we all were like crammed into this little dressing room because we didn want to be apart And we were in between setups And it was like a big shot with a crane and everything so there were a lot of setup time between shots and we just were laughing all day long we were the four of us back there and we were
2:21
in the most uncomfortable clothes just like you know it takes a lot and just laughing kind of pull it
2:28
all together oh it was so comfortable but you know we do anything for the look yeah um yeah
2:33
off stage it's those moments where we're all kind of crammed together for a day and um
2:37
On stage, if we can say that to you, of course we can. I think, especially because of this particular audience
2:45
what's really special is what she said, the moments where we're actually doing a production number
2:49
I think the girls are such that there's so much kind of fumbling and foibling
2:54
and there's just so much of that. And I think one of the reasons why you kind of root for them
2:58
is because when they actually put a production number together, especially after it's edited
3:04
certainly after the magic, the movie magic, the post-production happens. You actually, you kind of root for them
3:14
They're like, hey, you know, they're pretty good. They're dancing together in choreography
3:18
They got their harmony. They look good. They're turning up. Like, for some reason, the craziness kind of stops when we're performing
3:27
And I think that just makes them, that just makes you want to root for them
3:31
Yeah, it's also making me think of we had a really fun day. on set with Renee and Daniel Breaker and I and we got to sing with Daniel and that
3:40
was like finally everybody knows you have this great oh he's like one of the great voices of all
3:46
time yes and so to finally get him that we got to sing and we were singing the three of us around the piano
3:51
it was really fun so fun I mean there are so many great like Broadway cameos and people in the
3:57
series did you guys kind of feel like right at home seeing people on set and just get so
4:01
Oh, God. Well, you know, fortunately, like, you know, Tina and Jeff spent a little time on Broadway
4:06
And they're fans of, like, so many, it's just such a diverse group of actors
4:10
So of course, we get like the best comedians in the world and a lot of really wonderful writers
4:14
but we also have like wonderful Broadway people. Gray Henson joining us
4:19
Gray Hens and like God he so good And obviously we have Andrew Rannels who just like he the he the fifth member He really is the fifth member But you know obviously you know there Ashley and Erica and you know
4:31
Will Chase came last year and that was a rent reunion for me. I don't, I don't want to you to anybody
4:37
There's so many, but almost everybody comes from this world. And it is truly an embarrassment of riches that we get to make this show in New York City and have this whole community to draw from
4:48
And people are eager to come in and come in and day play. It's a really fun set to jump into
4:53
Yeah, it's a little scary, probably. Yeah. But, you know, you just let that go
4:57
We don't bite. Right. Well, you guys have had such great success on Broadway and then also in music, film, TV
5:04
You are playing these comedic heightened characters, but have you been able to relate any of your own experience to anything that's going
5:11
on with your own character on the show? Absolutely. Yes. People always ask me, you know, gosh, who are you relating
5:17
who are you kind of modeling Wiki after? Like, what person? She's so different from you
5:23
Who do you have to reach for to create her? And I'm like, you know, there's a part in all of us
5:29
that's always been trying to stand in the middle of a group of girls. You know what I mean
5:33
Like I actually just like, you know, swallow that, you know, ridiculous thing all the time
5:38
But, you know, Wiki doesn't have to. And I relate to a person that just never says no
5:43
to her inner demons. I have them too. I just tell my no
5:47
Wiki is like, you know, gives them a microphone, you know. And I just, I love that about her
5:52
because it's just helpful to kind of see up close. Gosh, this is why you don't behave that way
5:56
This is why you don't do it. That's what I love about acting
6:00
As someone who's kind of new to, you know, this whole medium and especially in TV though
6:05
it's a form of radical empathy. You have to find your way into a storyline
6:11
that you might not live out in your own life, but I mean, you can almost imagine a world where anything
6:17
as possible. Women, humans are, we're infinite in that way, you know
6:21
So finding your way into their storyline, I think it's also, I would, I bet I could speak
6:26
for everybody that that is our approach. We want to make them real. We want to make these women three and relatable and human and we all rooting for their most authentic selves to come through in some way even as ridiculous as it is Hey what up Instagram Live
6:44
It's Girls 5Eva! And we're here with a surprise first look at us in this..
6:49
The eyeball icon thing is saying zero. It's just us in here
6:55
C-s us in here. Cease and desist, es. Girls five Emma are hoping to become two-hit wonders
7:02
It wonders. We are officially in album mode. Here we do it lie
7:08
Finally, we're in charge of the satch. No more singing whatever crap they give us
7:14
Half our old songs weren't even spell-checked. We don't want no avid jokes
7:18
so you better be rolling in some dugs. We're back in biz
7:24
Yeah, we do it lie. We need the album done in six weeks
7:29
That's fast. I know people over 30, 10, $10. have other things in their lives
7:34
I have a kid. Oh! But she never talks to me, so I'm via Vail. Okay
7:40
Girls Five. Epa. You're a producer? We got another toxic dude on our hands. Co-co
7:47
I don't think I saw him sniff our chair. He didn't. Did he take his dick out
7:51
Not that I would notice. They are so boring to me. We got, we got, we got
7:56
Momentum, yeah, it's our moment. We just have to make the most undeniable
8:02
album of all time. What you got there, Vic? My riff, Rolodex. All the greats are in here
8:08
Yeah, yeah. Our album dropped in a month. We need to make noise now. They're shooting a music video
8:19
How open should my mouth be in a shot? Like, or... Two
8:27
Look how far we've come. Clear eyes. Numb knee. Can't lose. Let's hit it
8:35
You wrote all of the songs on the album, so if everybody hates it
8:39
it means that they hate you as a person on every level. Jesus, Summer
8:44
What? Oh, no
