BWW Exclusive: Allison Frasca Gets WICKED on The Broadway Break(down)!

Hey, it's Alison Frasca with Broadway World. We're inside the Gershwin Theatre to have a little chat about Wicked

We know it. We love it. It's the story of Elphaba, a moody witch who's green

and she goes to school for the first time to take care of her sister, mainly guilted by her dad, am I right

There she meets Galinda, the good witch, and they become roommates through circumstances

that are designed to force them together in a beautifully done way through song

And they're roommates, and then Galinda's like, you could be pretty if you tried, and she's like, no, I can't

But then she is, because they go to a party. She's like, is my hat okay? And Galinda's like, lol, no, but I feel bad

We're friends now. So they become friends. Flash forward. They go to the Emerald City

because they're going to use Elphaba's powers for bad, and she doesn't know it yet

She's a pawn, and she doesn't realize it. That's later. So they get to the Emerald City

She's like, oh my god, I'm green, but I'm okay with it now because everything else is green. Yeah

But then she realizes she's a pawn. She learns it just a few seconds later

And then there, when she's the pawn, she's like, ah! And then, act two comes

Time has passed. Elphaba's missing. Galinda's not president, but like, close. And so she's standing there with, like, one shoulder off

and she's like, goodness knows I messed up my friendship. Then Dorothy's now introduced to the picture

because it's really about the Wizard of Oz. Dorothy comes. They're all like, you go away for a second

You have to heal. Then they're like, I'm sorry I messed up

She's like, I'm sorry, too. And then they become friends again. There's also a love story in here with a scarecrow

He's not a scarecrow yet, though. That happens at the end. In the beginning, he's a hot prince who doesn't like to study

So they have a moment where they're like, mm, you're mine, in the woods

And then Galinda and Elphaba are like, for good. And she's like, go away so no one sees you

And Elphaba's like, OK, fine. And then Galinda comes back. She's like, everybody, she's gone

We're back at the top of the show. Now you see how I got here, right

That's so crazy. Did it work? It's me, Elphaba, and my scarecrow boyfriend

It worked. We're going to run away and be happy together. If you didn't see Wicked for some reason
