Hi everyone, welcome to Key2 Blogging and in this video I will show you how can create a
0:04
subdomain in your hosting or dashboard. So let's understand what is subdomain
0:09
So if I create something like land.key2 blogging.com, then in that case, this is a subdomain
0:16
So let me just show you. So if you add something like Lan or blog.example.com, then that is called a subdomain
0:23
And if you add forward slash and then add a folder, then that is called a sub folder
0:29
So you can create unlimited number of subdomain inside your domain. So if you go to the Hostingor and select the shared hosting plan and here you can see you
0:40
will get single web hosting, premium web hosting. And in single web hosting, you will get two subdomain for free and you can create hundreds
0:48
of domain in the premium web hosting plan. So if you want to get the Hostinger, then you can use the link in the description and use
0:55
the coupon code to get 10% discount. So, let's check how you can create the subdomain in Hostinger
1:03
So for this, we are going to log into Hostinger Edge Panel and I will click on the hosting
1:08
button here. Now let's click on Manage here and here you will see the IP address of your website
1:16
So for this, let's scroll down and click on the soft domain here
1:20
And you need to add the name of your subdomain. So in my case I will add like Lan
1:26
key to blogging.com. And then I will check on the custom folder for subdomain
1:32
So it will create a separate folder in your database. So you can easily identify the files in your subdomain
1:39
So I can name the file like LAN dash KΠ²logging
1:48
You can basically add any name in the directory field. This is to remember the folder name
1:55
So, we have added LAN-Dash K2Blogging and in soft domain we have added the LAN
2:00
So it will add like LARDOTKITUBlogging. So let's click on Create button
2:07
So it will take some time. So let's wait. Okay, the subdomain is now created in our hosting or panel
2:15
So to install WordPress in that subdomain, we are going to click on website here and click
2:22
on auto installer. So just click on here. And before that, let's activate the SSL certificate
2:30
So for this, let's click on the SSL here. And as you can see, there is no SSL here
2:35
So let's click on Manage and it is saying auto installation item 1
2:38
26 field. Okay, it is checking the SSL certificate. So it will automatically add the SSL certificate after 9 minutes
2:48
So we can skip this. So before that, let's install the WordPress first
2:54
So for this let click on the website field here and I will click on auto installer here Now I will select the WordPress here Now I can add a website title like Lan Key to Blogging like this and I can add an administrative
3:14
email address here and I can add the administrative username and I can generate a password
3:21
So let's add a password suggested by Google. So I have added a password here
3:29
Now let's click on Advance here and you can change the HTTP to HTTPS and here you can
3:36
select the soft domain here. So don't click on the main domain, you have to select the soft domain here
3:44
Now you can create a database password. So let's create a new database for our soft domain
3:50
So I will click on new database and I can add a database password here and I will click on next
3:58
Now here you will see this option, install WordPress in land.gitublogging.com
4:07
And here you can select the language and the it has automatically selected the
4:11
php version and showing the disk face. And you can always update to latest version available or you can disable the automatic application
4:22
update. So I will keep it as recommended and I will click on install
4:28
So, it will take some time to install the WordPress in our newly created subdomain
4:35
So it is creating the subdomain. Okay, now the WordPress is activated in our subdomen
4:46
We need to point that subdomain to the Hostinger. So for this, I will log into my Cloudflare dashboard and if you are using the GoDaddydy
4:58
you can go to the DNS manager of GoDaddy. So for this you can just click on the DNS
5:03
So let me just click on back here and I will select the domain here
5:09
Now let's click on DNS here and I will create a new A record
5:15
And in the name field I will add the same like LAND and in IP address I will copy that IP
5:22
address from the dashboard or I can just copy my old IP address
5:27
So the IP address will be same for both domain and subdomain
5:31
So I will add the IP address like this and I will click on save changes
5:39
I have added the new subdomain A record in my Cloudflare or you can use the same technique
5:46
to add the A record in your GoDaddy account or NameChip account
5:51
So after adding the A record let's go to the Hosting or Edge panel and it is saying that it will take
5:57
around 24 hours to successfully propagate the name server. Okay I am back after 10 to 15 minutes and let check what the status of the name server So for this I will click on the hosting here and I will click on manage here and then I will
6:15
click on WordPress dashboard and under the drop down menu I will select the subdomain here
6:23
and still saying the same. So we can install the SSL certificate from Cloudflare to make it quick
6:31
So, let's scroll down and let's log into Cloudflier and get a SSL certificate
6:39
So before that, let me just log into the soft domain like this, learn
6:44
dot, key to blogging.com. And as you can see, we have login to learn
6:53
.com and it's saying SSL handsack failed. So to fix this, we have to create a SSL certificate in Cloudfield
7:01
and then add that SSL certificate to Hostinger. So in some cases the install SSL certificate doesn't work
7:09
So if you install the WordPress using the HTTPS. So for this, let's log into Cloudflare and I will click on the SSL slash TLS
7:23
And here you will see this option, Origin Server. So just click on Origin Server here and we can create a
7:31
SSL certificate. So let's click on Create Certificate and let's close this one and I can type like Learn. Learn.
7:47
So we will add the SSL certificate in soft domain. So I will add my soft domain like this and I will click on Create button and the validity
7:57
of the certificate is 15 years. And here you will see this option origin certificate and private key
8:04
So let's go to the Hosting or dashboard and I will go to the hosting section here
8:11
Let's click on Manage here. Now scroll down and here you will see this option SSL
8:18
So where it is, this one is SSL in the Advanced tab
8:21
So just click on SSL here. Now it is saying that SSL failed
8:26
So, let's click on here and let's click on on install. Okay, SSL is now on install
8:36
Let's first install the SSL certificate again. Otherwise, we can import that SSL certificate from Cloud Player
8:43
So let's click on install again and it will take some time
8:51
So it is saying installing and it's as you can see SSL installation failed
8:55
due to some technical regions in Hostinger. So let's install this one
9:03
And we have SSL certificate from Hostinger in our main domain but we have to add the SSL certificate in the soft domain So I will click on import SSL certificate and here I will choose the soft domain here and let
9:20
go to the Cloudflare and just copy the origin certificate and I will click on here like
9:28
this and let's click on private key. So let's let's copy the private key here and I will add the private key like this
9:37
Now let's click on install SSL. And as you can see, the SSL is now successfully installed in our subdomain and it is saying active
9:52
So if your hosting garage doesn't activating the SSL in the custom subdomain, then you can
9:57
create a SSL certificate using the Cloud Flier and then import that certificate to your subdomain
10:04
Now let's go to the website and let's refresh this page. And as you can see, the SS certificate is now activated and we have login to our website
10:14
So let's go to the backend. So I will type like, so let's add WP admin
10:22
Okay, now we have login to our backend in subdomain. As you can see, land
10:31
com blogging. So let me just add my subdomain here and I will add my subdomain here
10:37
I will add my password here. So you need to remember the password that you have added in the time of installation of the subdomain
10:52
So let's click on save here and the press WordPress install is now added in subdomain
11:00
Now let's go to the plugin section and I will click on whole, you know, and I will click on
11:06
whole here, plugin here and I will click on deactivate and let's click on apply
11:13
Now let's click on the tick button and I will click on delete
11:18
And I will click on okay. So it will delete all the pre-install plugins in our website
11:25
Now let's go to the post here and I will delete this post here
11:31
Now let's go to the settings and let's click on Permalink here
11:38
And I will click on Postname here and I will click on Save Changes
11:43
Okay, now you have learned how to create a soft domain, how to install WordPress on that
11:48
subdomain and how to get SSL certificate. Either you can get SSL certificate using the Hostinger panel or you can create a SSL certificate
11:57
in Cloudflare and import that SSL certificate to your soft domain. And in the next video I will show you how you can create a landing page in your WordPress website
