NY Giants 2025 Schedule Release Show LIVE

all right Well welcome back to another edition a special live edition of Inside

BBI with John and Eric I'm John McDev and with me as always senior editor of Big Blue Interactive Mr Eric Kennedy And

Eric first off before we get to schedule I went I'm going with beer I I brought a beer today I don't know if you brought

one today or not Yes I did All right perfect I went with the Common House uh Ale Works Red Fox Irish style red ale Uh

figured uh let's go let's go a little red today because I think Johnson will break out those red uniforms in this

banner Going to be mirror image 1984 season How are you I was rooting through the refrigerator because I didn't want

to go with the same beer that I had been drinking recently because it' be too boring And do you remember the Elapo Oh

yes there was one can of the Elapo left It's a sweater

So So anyways the people that like the three amigos will get that reference So

okay Nice Well done So here we are I mean schedule release it's it it got out

early The NFL was not able to keep this one under wraps No Uh the whole the entire Giant schedule came out early I

know a lot of people talked about it but first off your first impressions You've seen it You can bring it up on a screen

whenever you you want Your your thought first thoughts on this schedule We knew

who we're playing so we knew it was going to be tough but what do you think about the way it's arranged I got this from BBI I printed this off the schedule

section Obviously we're still going to fill in the networks They do do we you and I were talking about before we came

on Sometimes the CBS will pick up even the two NFC teams So we'll have to wait

to see who the networks are But I got this from Paul Schwarz which mimics the earlier schedule that was released on um

Twitter So it it jives with that And so I think it's official We'll see about

the times but I think the times are pretty official So I have good points bad points and sort of weird points I

don't know if you want me to start with the good the bad or the I'm I'm gonna leave it Dealer's choice You You roll with what you want to go with first All

right I'll start off Well let's start off with the negative and we'll get positive It's a [ __ ] of a schedule I

mean anyone who looks at the schedule you got to be honest and say this this schedule is a [ __ ] Um the funny thing

about the comments that I'm seeing all day today is we kind of knew this was coming but I think until people actually

see it in print they don't really So you and I were having a lot of discussions

on our podcast leading up to this And I kept bringing up the schedule the schedule the

schedule And you were kind of like nah don't worry The schedule is the schedule Don't worry about it And I think until

people actually see it and then it hits home So overall this is a this is a [ __ ] of

a schedule And the one thing that really kind of sort of sticks out to me in a bad way and it's not what people think

it is it's not the start And I I I'm a little more positive about the start than most people It's playing the Eagles

twice in 17 days That's to me is a little weird I don't know why the NFL did that but we're you know we play them

on a Thursday then have a game um with the Bronco in Denver and then we and and

then we play play the Eagles again right away So to me that was that was kind of

a weird thing that get the the Eagles sort of concentrated in that short period of time I guess in a way we can

say we can get them out of the get them out of the way Um but those were my negative overall I'm I'm sure we'll get

into it more but I had more positive things but I don't know if you want to react to the negative Yeah So the so the

negative I I I get it I get it And I and I still stick to the schedule schedule with this caveat When you look at it

like this it there are pieces that look bad like you just pointed out right The beginning looks looks tough You're going

you got Commanders Cowboys Chiefs Chargers right off the bat Then you've got the you've got the Saints then we

got the Eagles right And that was a big thing People are like "Oh man then we got the Eagles so early." I like to look

though at what some of these teams do before we play them So yes we play the

Commanders I think that's a much more winnable game than maybe a lot of other people will think And I think agree

that's a team I think we can match up with There's some things there So we'll we'll see Again who knows The Cowboys I

actually like starting with the Commanders I like starting with the Commanders I I agree I I agree The Cowboys game right They're coming off

their game with Philly So either they got their butts whipped or they lost a tight game or they beat Philadelphia and

are on emotional high Either way we're going to be looked at one of the things

I said to a lot of people was we're going to be looked at as as sort of the overlooked team that other teams play Oh

we're the team that everybody's circling and saying that's a win right Or you're just not considering it None of none of

the teams on our schedule are their fans are looking at that They're all going win They're not none of them are going

that's a loss None of them My negative of the schedule is actually just how far

into the schedule we go before the by-week comes up The team could be

depending on how you look at it If we hit any kind of injury piece that's a

long stretch before you get that buy Well that's perfect for the playoff run though But if you are if you look at it

if we are successful and that everybody has their own interpretation of what

that might mean if we are somewhat successful before the buy that comes at

a point where now you can rest up you can make run at certain things And the

last part of the schedule is not that bad You've got a Vikings team coming commanders and Vikings coming to us and

we don't know what the Vikings are going to be like they're gonna have a quarterback who hasn't played it down in the NFL yet and that that's just assuming he wins The Raiders at that

point we don't know what they are or what they what they'll be And then the Cowboys we've already would have faced them earlier in the season So there's a

lot from this The negative to me though is kind of the murderers row at the beginning and then the by-week being

late I don't think that I when I first saw it I thought damn the the beginning

sucks And I I've kind of stepped off the ledge If you look at X if you look at BBI

people are are like three wins four wins maybe five wins

Um it again the opponents are the opponents We don't play well at

home So to me excuse me a home game and

an away game to me that doesn't matter as much Sometimes we play better on the road So I don't mind playing

um division games on the road at the start of the SK at at the start and I think there is going to be a um

advantage in this sense that we are going to be a different animal for a lot

of these other teams that we face So our defense is going to be much different

It's not just Abdul Carter It's what we did on the back end of the defense in the secondary much much different animal

Now a lot of the pressure on Shane Bowen we can talk about that later Shane Bowen is got a lot of pressure on him to

deliver because he has all the things that he needs Um I even saw a positive story today on Tai Banks Um Patty

Trainer did it I guess Um Drew Phillips came out and had said how hard um Tai

Banks has been working this off seasonason to get ready I I think the I

think this might work out to the most important game Let me step back

for a second If the Giants are going to be have a decent year they've got to win division games that so we play the

toughest divisions outside the NFC East We play the toughest divisions this year

We're going to have to win some of these NFC East games We're going to have to try to get the at least three and three

in the NFC East in order to be around I think around 500 So I would kind of

rather play the Commanders and Cowboys right off the bat when they don't exactly know what they're going to get

against us on defense And remember we got a new quarterback He's not Daniel Jones anymore

So and we have a quarterback that's going to start Russell Wilson He's played in the biggest of stages He's

played in the Super Bowl He's played on Monday Night Football He I mean he thrives in those conditions Again he's

not the same player as he used to be but he's not going to buckle right he's not gonna mentally knees that that the

problem with the Giants have been in recent years is they see that Dallas star and they go "Oh geez don't hurt

us." You know or or the Eagles and they're like you don't I don't think that's going to happen with with this

group So you and I have talked about before the Commanders games with we that we had last year were close games and

one of them was a stupid kicking decision and I know the Commanders have gotten better and I know the Cowboys

arguably have gotten better We'll see Their coaching change there may actually cause them to step back but I like starting off with those two teams The

Chiefs that's a whole different story but that that is what it is But I don't mind I don't mind the first two games I

actually the more I think about it I like it So I'll say I'll say this right The Commanders game starts season off

Boom I already mentioned Dallas plays Philadelphia before they play

us Who does Kansas City play before they play us You know John C had a great post

on this Wait a minute Kansas City plays Philadelphia Yeah The week before Yep So

again emotional high of those other teams Now here's something I will say and I and and I'll touch even more on it

later We will keep it tight regardless I've been saying this and I'm not gonna I'm not going to back down from it now

I'm not going to change my mind because that would be that'd be stupid That I feel like the 25 season has some very

deep parallels to 84 We were a we were a three- win team coming off an 83 into

the 84 season Our first three games were Philadelphia Dallas Washington

Philadelphia was 5-1 the year before Dallas this year was last year was seven

and 10 So that parallels a little bit the same The Cowboys were 12-4 coming off the 83 season and then you had

Washington was 14-2 They were in the Super Bowl the previous year So you really the the it's a very

similar start We're playing Washington who was 12 and five Dallas 7-10 Kansas City 15-2 There's not a huge difference

there But what I do like and what I just mentioned a minute ago is those other teams have some very big games very

early in the season and games that mean something very not just that they're two good teams but there's an emotional

aspect You know that Kansas City's pissed about how the Super Bowl went with Philadelphia That game that game is

going to be huge So for them to come off that game and then play us and they come to us that's that's a big deal Now again

if the Giants fall flat in the first two games I the emotional high of Kansas

City is not going to matter but we assume the Giants are going to be better or at least mentally stronger You just

hit the nail on the head Russell Wilson has seen these things Russell Wilson is not going to walk into these games going

"Oh my god we're playing this team." He might not be the guy he used to be but mentally he's not Daniel Jones Yeah he's

not Daniel Jones is going to fold the first time the ball gets like tipped or or he gets a rush and you know the the

game's over right Well even if they're 14 down 14 nothing he's not going to he's not going to fold And we he played

like that last year too There were games that he played where the Steelers were he thought they were out of it and he

brought them back So but John C and Maryland had a really good post and he brought up the point that you did about

the fact about the emotional um meaning of that one game The two

disadvantages he did bring up do pertain to the two games against Dallas and they were good points Dallas is going to be

coming off a a mini buy because they're playing Thursday Um and I guess in week

one right They'll be playing Is that a Is that a Thursday game That's a Thursday game week They'll have they'll

have like a mini buy there and then in week 18 the same same thing They'll have like a little mini buy there But week

four Chargers have to come out from from the West Coast And that's

again that feels like 10:00 a.m to them as he as he said Uh again the Denver game Um they're going to be coming off a

trip in to London and and we're going to be coming off a Thursday night mini buy

So that works to our advantage Um 49ers they again they'll have to come they'll have to come east and then um the one

o'clock game at Washington in week 15 we're coming off our bye week So there are

John C again brought up some interesting so in a lot of ways the good thing about is this and I don't know if other people

feel this way and let's take questions and make comments too as we go along with this but again this can change with

flex scheduling later in the year but there's I'm a big fan of one:00 games There's a ton of and this is schedule is

filled with nothing but one o'clock games except for the four o'clock in Denver for obvious reasons The there are

only two right now or three right now night games and I for a number of reasons I I

don't like night games but I um but the Chiefs game um the Eagles which that's a

bit scary and then the Patriots Monday night game We hopefully we we can finally win a Monday night game there Um

but you know I I like starting off with the Commanders more than I would like starting off with the Patriots I just

like I just like trying to surprise teams early and and we'll see how it goes But I like the start Obviously

Chiefs and Chargers are really tough Saints is a winnable game That Eagles

game is a [ __ ] To me the hardest stretch to me right now is the Eagles Denver Eagles

That's the That's the hardest stretch right there And then um the other you

know the 49ers they're kind of in a quasi rebuild mold They're still going to be tougher than I mean they'll be

predicted to have a better team than us obviously but I think I think they're not as strong as they've been in recent

years The Bears on paper look super good but we'll have to see about their quarterback Packers are tough Um Lions

that's a toughy but then we got the Patriots and then you already talked about the about the final stretch So um

I don't expect playoffs I don't expect um I don't even know if I expect a

winning season but I don't expect a disaster that some people are predicting

right now either I don't think What do you um I I agree Uh a couple things

Um again I I think that a lot's going to depend on some of these other teams too right We're looking at the Giant

schedule in a vacuum We're saying this is the Giant schedule Mhm The other teams have schedules too and depending

on who they play and where they're at and division games and all that stuff right The stretch of the the Eagles

Broncos Eagles is kind of an interesting one to to me overall just because you're really for a for a league

that likes to play on uh what games are going to be really more marquee in terms of just physical

attraction of people watching it Giants Eagles might not be marquee for the nation but New York is a big market The

fact that you're going to take the one of their most hated rivals right off the the the docket within the span of three

three games Boom Boom Giants Giants are the Eagles That's not that's stuff they used to do That's stuff before they did

the schedule where that you finished the year playing a lot of your division opponents I'll give you an example again

going back to 1984 just using that schedule real quick The Giants finished the season their last four games were

Kansas City the Jets St Louis New Orleans The first three games of the season the Giants played their division

revivals the Eagles the Cowboys the the Redskins They turned around and played them again Eagles Redskins Cowboys 8 N

and 10 of of the season So so the NFL's changed the way they do the scheduling So to get rid of Philadelphia off the

Giants docket in three weeks that's an interesting way of going about it In some ways I kind of feel

like that actually plays a little bit more to the Giants than it does to Philadelphia Let's say Philadelphia wins

that first game uh beating the Giants They're not going to they're not going to be any more amped up for that next

game with the Giants They've got they've got bigger fish to fry That that game becomes a much bigger deal to the Giants

So it's it's it's just weird It's one of those weird dichotoies when you look at how they put the schedule together So

where are our division games So we have let's see one two three four right So we

have we play four of our division games by before November So right do I got

that right Yeah we have four division games before then then after that we only have two division games left So

it's a little odd in that sense I kind of like that though in a way So we'll find out pretty quickly where this team

is Um I'd like to get your opinion on this I don't we've talked about this

before I don't and people are disagreeing with me on BBI already I don't think Dable's getting fired unless

there's a complete collapse here So but in my mind I think if So in my mind if

they're hanging around six seven wins he's coming back no matter what I would

be hardressed to see them firing in at five wins because he picked the quarterback So the new quarterback is

his guy He's not going to play this year except maybe the end And that's by the way the by-week is is an obvious spot if

they're going to play Jackson Dart that at some point they they would make the

switch I think around the buy That's same thing the same thing they did last year with Daniel But I think that that's

an obvious spot for them You know if if he's going to play at all this year that's when they would make the switch

But I I don't think Dable's job and again I was one of the guys who said I

was leaning towards firing him right But I think now that he's picked the quarterback I think it would be kind of stupid for the Giants to fire fire him

unless they completely just collapse and like a two three- win season again where

the team's quitting on them because he picked the guy and he's the guy that

they've sort of designated to bring him along If you were going to do that if

he's on that short of a leash they shouldn't have drafted a quarterback in my opinion Agreed And and I'll say um uh

Darren uh Hartman in chat asked a question earlier What do we what do you

consider to be um uh what would be a a good season in terms of wins A minimal

good not like oh they're going to go to the play you know what I mean Like what do you consider that was acceptable with what they've put together Um and I I'll

start with the my opinion I think you're right on the assessment that the Giants probably are not getting rid of dayball

unless they collapse They would have to pretty much match what they did last year right Which would show no

improvement by the way And you've spent a lot of money on improvement So if if you come out three wins yeah that's

going to be really really touchy Five six wins and they were in some games

they're probably there My assessment though is this team needs to be far closer to what they did in 22 in order

for for me to consider it to be successful because they've won games Hold on I don't What do you mean

no They They won games that that they they should have They got a couple of

games that they kind of played over their heads They have more talent on this team and they have a they have

veteran quarterbacks They're playing teams that are not Some of these teams are not going to be that great There are

going to be teams that are going to be bad this year that you weren't expecting to be bad You're going to have some

games You've got to steal You've already said it You have to win division games You've got to steal some games I'm not

saying you will win nine games but you've got to be far closer to that team that stole those games than the team

that was out of it by the third quarter I think a realistic good season

realistic good season for them this year given the schedule if they didn't have to

play the NFC North and the AFC

West No wait wait What am I talking about here Is it the West We are playing the West Yes West If they didn't have to

play those divisions I would be more where you are at But right now I would consider this a

good season for them if they're seven and 10 If they get anywhere near nine then it's a great season for them And

again it's part of this is the quarterback transition This isn't like the only difference between I I

understand where you're coming from with the 84 comparison It's the Phil Sims isn't the starting quarterback an

entrenched guy right now Is the And I have an answer to that when you I know I know you said that before I don't know

what it is but you said but I I think a realistic

um realistic hopeful outcome would be seven and 10 if they can go above that Yeah

But when you say and I I've heard this argument all day long that team you never know what teams are going to come

back to the pack Look the Chiefs are going to be the Chiefs The Chargers the Chargers are are a pretty darn good

football team Um the Broncos do do you see the Broncos coming back to the pack

Um sure Yes Absolutely Absolutely And you were already Lions I mean the

Lions I mean I I my answer to some of those see again some of it though keep

in mind one thing about playing those divisions Yeah Those guys are going to beat the crap out of each other No doubt

and they're gonna and everybody has those guys circled as their big game The

Lions Yeah When the Lions play somebody that in the past you'd be like "Cool we got the Lions on our schedule." No one

says that now So again I'm not and I'm not trying to state the Giants are going to the playoffs I'm not saying that But

what I am saying is I think you can look at the doom and gloom and you can look at the overly positive I look at it

right down the middle There were so many teams that were were within like five to

nine wins that a couple of games here and there changes everything both positively and negatively for teams on

either side of that that range right That the Giants in 22 that's really what happened to them They won some games

that they probably shouldn't have beat some teams that they were just they were just a better more consistent team even

though they weren't great and held on towards the end of the season This season to me could play out very

similarly depending on how well Russell Wilson Now I'll say this when you I do still feel the the connection to 84 And

here's why I say it is similar All right Phil Sims was the starting quarterback of the New York Giants At what point

previous to that mid mid to late 1981 right He was not

the starter in 82 He missed the entire year He did not start in 83 And when he got into a game he blew his thumb out

against the Eagles He barely played He played one game and it was he didn't even start it So Phil Phil Sims was an

unknown The Giants tried to get Warren Moon right Phil Sims kind of came into it Now Parcels was a new coach but he

wasn't really a new coach He was Russell Wilson isn't going to pull a Phil Sims This is This is more like 2004 with the

quarterbacks Uh you could say that I guess but the rest of the Giants team in 2004 they they made a lot of changes in

2004 when when Coughlin came in No doubt No I'm I'm just saying quarterback situation is more but this team is made

up of a lot of the same players We talked about this on offense The consistency is there If they're going to

win if they feel their system was really in place but the guy running it was not

this will show Again I'm not saying it's going to be a nine- win team or 10- win team What I am saying is they're going to win more games than I think people

think they are and they're going to be a lot more competitive because if they're not then I do think Dayball's in big

trouble because that's the whole point of all of this I don't disagree that he should be in

trouble but I don't I don't think you can you can fire

him but if you fire him then the whole dart thing doesn't make a lot of sense Agreed So so you think you think the

by-week um change of subjects real quick So you think the the by-week is kind of the natural possibility of where Dart

comes in What record would you say the Giants would have to be at for them to actually go to Dart Like I don't see I

don't know Remember so remember 2004 they benched Warner when we had a winning record It was we were five and

four I think Five and four Five and four They benched Warner And Warner to this day I don't know if you saw his recent

interview with John Schmel He's still he's still Oh he's pissed still Yeah he's still pissed about that Give it up

Kurt You've got you've had success with other teams Um but Eli was the number one pick in the draft right But but look

I'm I'm going to one thing I'm going to push back a little bit with not you with with with a lot of pundits is this is

this assumption that there is very little chance that

Jackson Dart could push for playing time earlier than people think So I don't

think it's out of the realm of possibility Is it likely No But I don't think it's out of the realm of possibility that Jackson Dart looks like

the best quarterback in camp I I don't expect that to happen But it could And

if he does what are we waiting for So I don't I'm not saying he's going to be the

opening day starter but I wouldn't say it's an impossibility I don't expect it but So

So they So you It's impossible for me to answer your question because it depends on how strong he looks in the summer If

he looks really good this summer I could see it even before the buy If it's um if

he looks like again he's came from that Lane Keifin offense and he needs you know he again he he took he he's got to

get used to playing under center He's got to get used to even just doing cadences So he's got to get the basics

down But if if he's like somebody said today he's got to play before the buy

And my response was why No he doesn't have to play before the buy The answer was well you got to get a read on him

Well I don't think you're not going to get a read on a quarterback in four games We didn't get a really good read

on Eli Manning in for four years People we still were thinking in 2007 oh my god

we got a we got we might need a new quarterback before he went on that run Remember the Minnesota Oh the Minnesota

game Was it three two or three pick sixes in Yeah I mean I mean and it was like "All right Eli's not it." And then

he wins the Super Bowl that year right But but and he looked terrible Remember when they played Washington Washington

51 pass attempts in that game and they lost terrible in that game So and that was late in the year So So I'm not

saying again we got to wait four years for Jackson Dart I'm just saying you're not going to get a good read on Jackson Dart in half a year or four games or

whatever it is So um anyone who's saying and and then anyone who who who jumps to

conclusions based on both pro or con on him playing a handful of games this year

they're they're fooling themselves We have no no idea So to answer your question I I think the buy as I said

earlier I think the buy is the natural spot What the record would be I don't know I again I I think we're at best

we're going to be hovering a couple games under 500 That's what I'm hoping The way I look at it is this

I'm hoping our defense is so good it keeps us in games I hope our running

game is more productive with the two-headed monster and more consistent with a two-headed monster with the

offensive line hopefully being healthy and then we have a quarterback who doesn't turn the ball over Historically

Russell Wilson knock on wood doesn't turn the ball over If you can play good

defense run the ball and not turn the ball over you should be in these games and maybe we

can steal a game here or there that we're not supposed to win So how's that for optimism No that's

good Let But let me let me maybe I'll reverse the way I was saying it and this might make it a little bit easier to I

didn't answer your question No you did But I I think I I I I think what the way I said it made it seem like I wanted to

hear a specific record that says you would make what record to me would say I

can't make that switch So you got a Russell Wilson and they've Oh they they're in a playoff hunt You're saying

you're I would say if if the Giants are if No no but if the Giants are in Let's

see how how many games are we talking about at that point You're played at that point You've got 13 games that the

Giants would have played at because you got four games left So 13 games If the Giants are six and seven you don't make

that move You don't you don't switch quarterbacks If they're seven and six you definitely don't switch quarterback

I know we did in 04 but that's a different wild card race looks like Remember there's a lot of good teams now in the NFC now So it so it depends on

but my but my point to that is is you don't want to because you're kind of I'm

gonna say you're in the wild card hunt If you have six wins after 13 games you're probably in it We saw it last

year There's so many teams that were down towards the end that were because it just it just it just seems to be

going that way with the longer season If you're a six or seven win team through 13 games there's no way they're going to

bench Russell Wilson unless he's just playing really poorly But I think you go to Jameus Winston you don't go to Dart

because if Dart falters like Eli did that's a bad taste in not only the the

Giants mouth but it's a bad taste for it was much different with Eli because A we knew Curt Warner wasn't coming back B he

was kind of he was kind of losing steam in the middle of the season The Giants really

weren't that good And you and he and Eli was the number one pick in the draft He had to play and it was ultimately going

to be his team But with only four games left because Eli played you know at that point he played seven games for the rest

of the year You only got four games left That's a weird spot to put him in I think if they do make the switch it

would have to be before the buy It'd be a couple weeks before I'm playing devil's advocate here Then is it a good

Is it a good thing that we were in the playoff hunt at that point then I mean I know that sounds terrible but don't you

at some point want Jackson at least get his feet wet a little bit this year I would say the Chiefs didn't didn't lose

anything by having Patrick Mahomes only play week 17 No I get you I just I don't

know knowing Mara I probably resign Russell Wilson because they want a playoff game There is there is there is

that fear There is that fear I I I won't I won't lie there There is that fear that you keep them Um No I I understand

what you're saying I'm not I'm not saying you're wrong I could see it happen I just have that again that memory of the 2004 when the Giants

legitimately could have you know they were had a winning record midway through the season and could have been in the

playoff picture if they didn't make the make the quarterback switch But the Giant because they did Eli was better

prepared for for the following year when the Giants won the division So I I think people largely forget 2005 It was a

great season with a horrible playoff game but the 2005 season for the Giants was was awesome and that no one saw that

one coming The other thing I want to you touching on your 1984 reference uh and you did this partially so it wasn't so

back then the NFC East had five teams in it and so the the the Redskins were

coming off a Super Bowl appearance They got crushed by the Raiders but they were that I think they they were that was

their second they went won the Super Bowl the previous year They had returned got beat by the Raiders but they were

still an awesome team John Rigggins and that crew right The Hogs Um Dallas was a

perennial playoff team at that point And St Louis was a [ __ ] that year and they actually almost won the division that

year Now the Eagles so when before that season started most people had the

Giants winning only a handful of games were going to finish dead last in the NFC East And the only other team that

was sort of in contention for the bottom spot was the Eagles that year Right So to support what you're saying the Giants

back in ' 84 looked like they were in an impossible division No one gave them a chance and they end up making the

playoffs even though they lost their last two games I don't know if you remember that They did They lost the

they lost to the Cardinals and to the Cardinals game was devastating for them to lose Um they had to that was a big

game So so I again so my and so for my me

that the the the the overall my overall picture is this is I I'm not as negative on this schedule as a lot of other

people are Again I don't foresee playoffs but I don't I I think we knew

who the opponents were going to be and the way this worked out a bunch of one:00 games There's not a lot of big

travel on here What we have D we have to go to Denver and the Raiders right Is that are

those two big travel days So there's not a lot We have one we have one of these the shortest overall travel uh schedules

this year Oh good So you saw that Okay I didn't know that So it looks like it there's no overseas travel which is

great And the B and and um I don't think I think John C and Marilyn said this I

don't think any of our opponents are coming off a buy playing us Now there's

many buys with Dallas So in a lot of ways there's advantage It's just who we're playing It's it this is these are

tough and and a lot of people agree with you They'll say you know you never know

what the teams are going to be like So don't assume I just look at these teams and I'm like these are these are teams

that are not likely to fall back to the pack That's where I am right now And I think that's why a lot of people are are

but we're supporting what you're saying I know I'm doing a lot of talking here Supporting what you're saying too Is

this is at some point the Giants have to win some games Exactly

And the roster on paper this is where a lot of people are going might disagree with me The roster on paper isn't that

bad anymore No I like our running backs I wish we had another wide receiver like a number two wide receiver I wish we had

um I wish we had um the Evan Neil that we drafted you know that we thought we

were getting I so I think we're I think we're a wide receiver and we're an offensive lineman still from being much

you know another step forward That would be my emphasis going into next off seasonason was offensive line and wide receiver but the defense is on paper is

as is is as as good as it's been in years I mean this is this is a really

really scary defense and that's why there's so much pressure on Shane Bowen When your like weak spots are Micah

McFaden who led the team in tackles last year and has actually been playing better and Tai Banks and everybody else

is kind of you're happy with your defense is pretty darn good and and and a lot of people out there who are

non-Giants fans have been seeing it in the last couple weeks have saying this might be the best defensive line in

football right now And that's saying something when you consider some of the def defensive lines that are out there

Remember Philly lost some players up front too So so this this defense should

keep us in games I love our running backs

I We have Malik Neighbors I'm higher on Theo Johnson than some people but so if

we can get some decent quarterback play we should be around 500 at least

That's my if we were had an easier schedule I would be thinking nine wins

My concern is the schedule Yeah it's so a couple things

Um I think we we we put too much emphasis on what certain things used to mean

right Playoff contention used to mean upper echelon teams Now there are

because you go as deep as they go Now you're seven teams deep on each side in the playoffs The wild cards last year if

you go back to the last couple of of games of the season there were teams that had losing records that were still

in the hunt depending on how things were going to shake out It is not unrealistic

to think that if the Giants win some games early on that all of a sudden that that whole thing changes The big part is

you already mentioned it earlier Giants have four division games going into

early part of November If they somehow can win two of those games if they won three of those

games that flips the script on a lot of stuff because all that's not just you

getting wins that's you putting losses on other people in your division and

that divisional uh matchup with Philadelphia Dallas that's a hated rivalry between those two teams Even if

I think Dallas is falling back Washington and Philadelphia that's a hated rivalry And they played each other

in the playoffs There's some there's a lot of competition going on It's going to be kind of one of those things of

like survival of the fittest and you might actually get lucky depending on

when you play of these other teams So it might not be I'm the best team on paper

this week or that week It just happens that that week fell to us in a much more

advantageous position I like the Russell Wilson piece a little bit Now when you start you

brought it up I like Johnson at tight end I like neighbors I did say neighbors by the way Neil I like I like I like

Wandelle And now the Giants are flirting with Gabe Davis We brought this up and I know a lot of people were shooting it

down and we do There's still a thing about his knee You got to know about what's going on with his knee But if you

think about it that makes perfect sense A he knows Dave ball system B he's a little bit taller He's not real tall but

he's a little taller And he's a speed guy He's another guy that goes down the field What do you have with Russell

Wilson A guy who throws the ball down the field What did Dball say last year they wanted to do We want to throw the

ball down the field We just didn't have a guy to do it Now you do So I'm there's

there's a lot to be optimistic about Uh well it means nothing at the moment though The thing with Gabe Davis is this

too is you don't want Darius Sllayton and Jaylen Hyatt

thinking they don't have much competition right You don't want them being like I've got this team made or

I've got my playing time I know they gave I know they gave Darius that contract but how do you get a how do you

get I mean there was a great video by um Carl Banks on this week on that ble with

Bleeve and Giants and he showed how Darius and Jaylen don't run the best routes on on the fade routes and the

sideline the sideline back shoulder routes and how they were running too close to the sideline and it's you know

get somebody to push again I know Gabe Davis has his issues but I also again I

know I shouldn't be doing this He's had a roller coaster year I mean career but

it's been actually been pretty consistent except for for last year but I still can't get that four touchdown

game out of my mind with in the playoffs against Kansas City And the guy the dude

has 29 regular season touchdowns and he has six touchdowns in the playoff games

And so if you can get him on a on a one-year prove it deal what what's the downside on that So and he's supposed to

be a really good guy in the locker room So and and and what and what was he when he did those things He was a two or a

three He wasn't the one He went to Jacksonville Yeah he went to Jacksonville Big money big expectation

whole new system Be the guy It's not the same thing Again I don't have like huge I don't even know if the Giants are

going to sign him They obviously bought him for a reason There is a connection there Um well and the other thing is you

remember when you lose guys generally speaking and they they're gone and we're kind of like we're a lot of Giants fans

will be like I'm glad he's gone and you see that with other teams too You you know the Giants will sign a free agent like say they sign that offensive tackle

for Scythe and you want to go see what their fans think of and they're like good riddens we didn't like him anyways

when when when um Davis got cut Buffalo Bill fans were like "Hey

bring them back." So So and Buffalo Bill fans are are pretty

smart fans because there's not much from upstate New York There's not much to do up there So so I mean so they know

football So again again he's not he's not a superstar but the Giants need a

another threat with Malik Neighbors And and if somebody is up you know if

somebody can just put pressure on Jaylen Hyatt that alone will and again I'm not

giving up on the UDFAs that we signed So um So wait a minute So if Optimus here are

the Knicks Are the Knicks losing Is that what's going on right now Um so I'm

going to say a couple other parallels to 84 Yeah Giants played the Cowboys week two Difference was it was at home but

they played in week two The Giants played the Eagles in the same week eight

from 84 here again in 25 There's a lot of other stuff when you look at the way

that team was 80 that 83 team was 312 and one this the 24 team was you know

three and 14 The Giants drafted a linebacker at third and pick in the draft The Giants traded back in the

first round to get a guy I believe we got William Roberts at 27 We traded back in at 25 to get Jackson Dart There's a

lot of parallels that are that to those to those years There's a lot of things that are somewhat similar And where I

was going to say earlier is Bill Parcels was a new head coach but he was not new

to the organization He was already the defensive coordinator It's not like we brought a guy in from outside I kind of

feel similar about Dball He Yeah he's been here but yet but again they made the Giants made the playoffs in 81 What

happened in 82 They had kind of a weird season The strike came out They only won four games There was only nine games total But again let's let's say that's

very similar to the out what happened in 23 In many ways it is similar because Phil Sims missed the entire year of 82

83 you had a quarterback issue Giants went with Scott Bruner That did not work out They had a lot of other stuff going

on They were a better team than they than their record showed but they weren't they had a lot of issues behind

the scenes 312 and one There's a lot of parallels to this team I'm surprised you're not making up the parallel that

Parcels almost got fired after 83 too So well I mean so um he went he didn't go

from defensive coordinator to head coach from 83 to 84 He was the head coach in ' 83 and he and he and he came

as close as you can get to being fired that year So and Dave came pretty damn close to getting fired this year if you

believe if you believe some of the beat reporters and just the general sense of things So but overall again again it's a

real it's a [ __ ] of a schedule but I like starting off at Commanders I kind

of like starting off at Dallas And we'll see I I will say this the two most

important games to me right now for Brian Dable are are the both Cowboy

games He's got to prove he can beat the Cowboys The Cowboys are not going to be easy this year They

got had a really good draft and um Dak Prescott has won 13 games in a

row against us Did you know that I saw that today He's won 13 games in a row against us So you know we always you

know how we always used to feel good about playing the Commanders because they're the Commanders and we'll beat them The Cowboys feel that way with the

Giants They're like is that is that true I saw someone tweet that out today We

remember Dak got hurt So so but didn't Daniel Jones beat I don't think Dak was

playing in that game but I'm not 100% sure Uh I got to look at that up That

seems like that might not be correct But even if it isn't if you're going to tell me it's 12 and one you get my point Well

sure Sure I Yeah I was just saying that's a lot of games I'm like that's six years worth of Dak Prescott owns the

Giants He owns the But anyways my point is this is Brian's lost two games to Dallas when Cooper Rush is has started

and he has to That's true And so if we're going to if we're going to have the kind of

season that you're you're hoping they're going to have and they have the kind of season that

I think they could have they probably have to go they definitely have to go

two and four in the division and they probably have to go three and three in the division So that means they've got

to beat the Cowboys and they may have to sweep the Cowboys And Brian Dable has not been able to He's horrible against

playing the playing the Cowboys for whatever reason To me the the two games against the Cowboys are huge You can

make excuses for the Eagles because they're the world champions Um I think we can steal a game against the

Commanders Um but I we've got to beat the We've got to beat the Cowboys

Yeah I I would I would agree with that uh wholeheartedly Um cuz if you sweep

the Cowboys that's two wins Then you got the Raiders the Patriots

the Saints I I would put the Saints in there That's six So um the 49ers you

don't know what you're going to get with those guys They've got a lot of Yeah they are But they got a lot there

There's a lot of going going on with those guys Um we got to stop the run We

got to stop the That's the other thing Everyone keeps talking about our our new pass rush My biggest concern with Shane Bowen

is this Does he schematically understand how to stop the run He did in Tennessee but was at Mike Vrabel So they had a

good run defense in Tennessee just like Wink had a good run defense with the Ravens and he came here and Wink

couldn't stop the run And and Shane Bowen doesn't seem to be able to stop the run because we have two defensive

linemen out there and we're trying to play the Philadelphia Eagles in that line So my So I'd want to see our our

pass rush go nuts on these guys but we got to stop the run I We were We We were

actually I think eighth against the pass last year even with all the issues we had in the secondary but we were near

dead last against the run again We got to stop the run right We gave up almost five yards a rush

And that's that's two rushes and you're got a first down Do the math Stop the run

Um we'll we'll kind of we'll keep it tight I know there's for for those of you who you know follow the NBA there's

there's a game going on Um we didn't have that many prime time

games which is good Uh we don't do well on on on Monday Night Football We don't

do well We don't do well generally almost anytime recently So I guess it's hard to say but the prime time games

have been embarrassing I'm that's another I'm hoping kind of changes just to change the narrative overall with

with the with other fans other the media itself Giants can't you you can't lay an egg on prime time games anymore Again

Russell Wilson played almost his entire career it seems like on on on prime time and he

doesn't phase by that So So it seems like every every other week you would turn on a prime time game and Russell

Wilson was on on So I So again Daniel Jones would shrink I I I don't worry

about that with Russell Wilson So are you willing to say what if for

you for this to be a a an acceptable successful season

Seven and 10 Seven and 10 Seven and 10 would be a good year for me If they do better than that it would be an

outstanding year given the fact that this team is still building towards what

I hope they will become If they win um under six games I'd be a little

concerned But again this schedule's a [ __ ] There are people on you know on the website that are saying three wins Three wins I I I think our defense I

think our defense is going to keep keep us really competitive and I think our running game will keep us competitive

Yeah Uh I mean we'll obviously there's going to be a you know prediction show before the season starts and we can

embarrass ourselves again like we did last year Um Evan wins I hope that's not embarrassing No no but right now is So

that's what that's kind of where you said would be an acceptable successful I mean drinking beer this time Yeah So I'm

I'm going to say from a Giant standpoint they I think Dball almost has to be in

the six win range You can't be lower than that without

really bringing question If you're in the if you're back to three or four I think you're fired I don't I don't think

he's coming back Anything that would be a huge mistake though I mean if they do that I you can't you just can't you

would have shown nothing then You got veteran quarterbacks and you couldn't win more games than you won last year

You got to at least be you got to be in around that six to seven But for me for

me I I see something a little different you if you're truly the coach you say you are and your system really is the

system We did add a lot of quality players in the secondary We just got the

best player by by many accounts All the pundits all other teams we got the best

player in the draft in Abdul Carter You picked up some other players

that are going to fit some needs I'm thinking to me to be successful this

season really you got to be somewhere between seven and 7 to 10 and somewhere

that eight or nine is really the level they got to be shooting for Anything less than that is going to be really

questionable I'm not where you are at but that's good to have a difference of opinion I I

again I hope you're right that they they can get into that range but this is a [ __ ] of schedule This is this is a

[ __ ] of a schedule And and again we can make we can say I mean we can say teams

can fall back but these teams actually might get better I mean Commanders might be might be better than they were last

year Um you know you you say the Lions have are are really want to get over the

hump I mean there there are I mean the Bears on paper look way better than they were last year but we'll have to see

about their quarterback So we'll see We'll see I think seven and 10 is more realistic I I hope you're right I hope

you're right I just don't I I I don't see them firing Dable unless the the

team has quit on him because if you if you fire him then the Dart pick doesn't

make a lot of sense to me He picked Dart So and Dart's not going to play that much this year If if anything like in

your scenario he wouldn't play at all So

um and who the next coach you're going to have to say hey you want Dart And then you got to make the decision are we

drafting another quarterback next year with the new head coach when we already just drafted Dart So I God I hope we don't get to that Yeah let's not let's

not pull down the Dart curtain on this day So this is May 14th We are actually not that far away from the first

preseason game is July 31st I believe that's one of the earliest dates that

I've seen for the preseason to begin So July 31st the Chargers Lions So you one

of the things I was kind of curious I wanted to look at was just the way the schedule shakes out for for other teams

Um when you look at the schedule like you know just the week one games right we see the Cowboys Eagles So the Giants

get the Cowboys coming off playing the Eagles You've got some other games here though There's a lot of teams that are

really going to be just beating each other up Now the full schedule hasn't been released yet And if people haven't seen it look at John C and Maryland's

thread on BBI I outlined a lot of it here earlier on but there are a lot of

favorabilities in terms of what John's talking about that the guy the teams that we're playing when they face us are

coming off more difficult circumstances So we could catch some teams who they

are going to be looking past us We could catch some teams by surprise and we did that in 2022

Exactly We could do that So TW So and Ael seems to have a little bit of his

skipping a step He seems a little happier He seems back to himself He's got Daniel Jones off the team He seems a

little He seems a little happy So maybe he's got his mojo back and we he gets some of that magic back from 2022 Keep

the games close You got Russell Wilson Again I'm not a huge Russell Wilson guy

but the guy is not going to wilt and turn the ball over like crazy

you get the defense keep the games close and we if we steal a couple of games then John's prediction may not be so

crazy But if we can get if we can get out of the first four games at two and

two that'd be huge Oh yeah That's that's a huge that's a huge win Uh you know e

even if you were one and three and you were in that's survivorable One and three is survivable But if we can get

out of two and two that would be huge Is it really that much of a stretch to

say we can't beat the Commanders and the Cowboys Oh god no And and again I'm going to point out the Cowboys and the

Chiefs both play Philadelphia the week prior to us getting them playing And and

that that that's that's a lot Again it's a matter of when The Chargers game will be interesting because we don't know who

the at this point I don't know who the Chargers play the week before but that's a game they've got to come out to us and

it's a one:00 game So it's a West Coast team coming out to to the East Coast to play a one:00 game That's not always

favorable to those West Coast teams Now and I bet you Abdul Carter is going to be spying the [ __ ] out of Jaden Daniels

in week one I bet you I I would think so I bet you they have him spy like crazy on him And that was one of the problems

we had was his running against us So we'll see We'll see if they can get out

two if they can get out off two and 0 in the division I know people are going "Yeah big big if Eric." But if they can

then then that changes everything They can survive the next two weeks You know they can even lose lose both those games

and be in really good shape Not great shape but good shape And that's how 84 went too If you watched

84 it was it was they would you know get up and they

would lose a couple of games and they were hovering around They were playing like 500 football for a while you know

they would go on a win streak then a lose streak and that and then they finally got hot at the right time and and they got to nine It was nine and

seven right It was a nine and seven season Yeah we were we were nine and five and lost the last two games of the season And we were pretty bummed at

losing the last two games and we had to get help to get into the playoffs and they went out to the Rams and they were

supposed to get crushed by Eric Dickerson's Rams and we stole that game We we beat them out there So maybe we'll

win another game Yeah it's again you know it's way early but I but I'll say

look at the way the schedule shakes out Um you know a lot's got to happen during the during the summer We will see You

know this could this could easily look very bad in the summer if if they just don't gel Uh but there's you know

there's a lot of continuity The only thing there wasn't continuity at is quarterback Quarterback is the one thing but then again why would we want

continuity So I think Michael just made up a good point there too See that So

before we late but before we play the Chargers in week four they've got a big game too So that's what I were talking

about Michael is is and what John C's threat is some of this can work out to our advantage So you know and again I

mean you could look at you could say the same thing when we play the Chiefs we're coming off our game with the Cowboys but that game with the Cowboys to ultimately

is again people are going to overlook the Giants It's not like the Dallas is just going to walk in going "Oh my god

we got to play the Giants." They're going to be coming off the Philadelphia game going "Oh okay We got the Giants." You know like "Yeah we'll see what

happens." Until we beat them other teams aren't going to There's not going to be that respect All right Two questions for

you to end on with me I don't know if you who what's your must-win game on the schedule Pick one

Uh it you know what we we we've or is there one or is there one I'll say I we

we've we have to beat Dallas at least one time It has to be one of those games

I would prefer that if we do get the win it's at home but I want to win early When's the last time we beat one in

Dallas I can't even know when the last time we beat one in Dallas Uh I don't even want to look I don't

even I don't even want to look There was a time remember we went into the playoffs and we beat them in All right

All right What is the one game you just Again I know you don't think this way What's the one game you see us losing no

matter what It's the Chiefs game right No actually that one I'm not so

concerned about I I I think that's gonna be a tough game but that's not the one I'm concerned about It's the one It's It's the at Philadelphia We just

freaking always look so bad at Philadelphia that that one has me That one has me

worried Um we didn't when we had Plico No And I mean you know there was a time

when Jim Fos when Jim Fossil was head coach we went in there and beat them all the time Um yeah the Eagles games The

Eagles games obviously are tough See the reason I said I brought that question up with the Chiefs was you were saying

earlier about "Yeah but we have to play the Cowboys before the Chiefs." I don't look at the Chiefs game as a as a win I

to me that's that's pie in the sky dreaming at that point Again they're there Could we Sure But we'll see We'll

again we'll see We'll see I don't I don't want to leave it on a negative note but that that to me I'm not worried

about the Oh my goodness we played the Cowboys before the Chiefs I I I like the fact that we're playing the Cowboys And

I would let me put it this way I would hate it if we were playing the Chiefs before the Cowboys I like it that we're

playing the Cowboys before the Chiefs So uh last thing for you then and I'm pretty sure I already know the answer

but you've kind of opened the door a couple times Uh oh if you had if you had to put an El Guapo beer down on this

particular thing what would it be Russell Wilson is the starting quarterback week one against the

Commanders or Jackson Dart is the starting quarterback week one against the Commanders

Well the smart money is Russell Wilson But as I said earlier I will not I could

see the irony would be is I could see Jackson Dart pulling a Russell Wilson Remember Russell Wilson wasn't supposed

to be the starter his rookie year They had signed the guy from Green Bay Um

can't even remember his name Flynn Yeah Flynn And and they they gave him a ton

of money way more money than than than relatively speaking than we gave Russell

Wilson And it was a multi-year deal And they said you know what he's the better

quarterback I just like the vibe I'm getting from Jackson Dart So the sooner

they start sort of start the clock on that great Part of the the concern the

flip side concern of this is this though it's kind of what you alluded to earlier with the end of the schedule The one

thing Brian Dable doesn't want to have is a horrible year with Jackson Dart looking like crap

for the bulk of that year because then then he's in trouble You know what

I mean You know again I'm one of these guys that says you got to give quarterbacks at least a couple of years But if if Jackson Dart looks terrible

and this is a really tough SK this is a murderer's role schedule So it it may be

better for Brian Dable not to start Jackson Dart It would be a roll of the dice If they start Jackson Dart off from

the first game and I I don't think it's impossible but that he would really be taking a big risk in my mind because if

Jackson Dart plays like crap how and you have to bench him that

looks a lot worse That looks a lot worse than bringing him off bringing him onto

the field benching Russell Wilson right I I I think there's almost no chance right There's almost 0% chance that

Jackson Dart's going to be the starting quarterback because of that reason because of the reason of you you already

signed Russell Wilson and I and I mentioned this on the other the other show that we did when we talked about this You didn't just sign Russell Wilson

you doubled down You signed Jameus Winston too So he signed two veteran quarterbacks If you start the rookie you

can't bench him and go to those guys and then ever go back to Dart You've now ruined that whole thing You can go the

other way You can bench the veteran and bring the rookie in and then you live with his mistakes and then it's okay But

if his mistakes are so bad that you have to play the veteran a it looks bad for you Why did you even go that route to

begin with And B you can't go back to him So to me what if Russell what if

Jackson Dart looks like the best quarterback in camp If he looks like the best quarterback in camp then the Giants

will trade or release one of the veterans There's no way they'll keep both of them You just can't The optics

would be so bad to do that right So I would think if he looks that good one of the veterans is on their way out Yeah In

a way as as as weird as this sounds in a way you might wonder if given the

schedule if it it would be better for Jackson not to look too good in camp you

know You know what I mean So they don't have to make that choice I know that sounds really weird

No I I see exactly what you're saying They might be insulated on that a little bit too because let's be honest they've

Russell Wilson has to play He's he doesn't have any kind of relationship with these guys You know this is his

first year with the team They've got to get him as many reps as possible So they kind of in some ways can stash almost

Dart not have him you know they're going to use him but not a ton like you would

normally do with a rookie trying to get him up to speed because you've got to get your veteran there So they have a way of kind of managing it without

really doing it on purpose so to speak Yeah But I don't know It'll be It's going to be interesting to see how they

handle this I mean training camp to me is going to be fascinating this year So we'll see We'll we'll see because right

now where it's heading towards is Jackson Dart's going to be the third quarterback and inactive most of the

year unless something weird happen Not weird but we'll see We'll see Something

unlikely So yeah with that uh you know we'll uh oh so Paul Kelly I'll just bring bring it up real quick He said

"What week will the offensive line be in shambles?" Um I'm hoping that we finally

have some depth and some guys that are very interchangeable that they can survive uh if we have injuries But man

for the love of God uh Ed Ed Thomas cannot get hurt He cannot Well remember now it's not just that we signed the uh

the veteran swing tackle and we signed Foresight who's actually played both sides too but Marcus Marcus Bo is a

tackle in college who's got he's very athletic So they actually they don't have to throw a zudu And who was the guy

that they signed off the street Was it Hubard The um was it was it Yes Hubard

It was Hubard who's not even hasn't even been signed by another team by the way He's still he's still unsigned So all 32

teams with 90man rosters Hubard hasn't even been signed and he was our starting left tackle after Isudu flamed out again

So So the depth situation the the offensive line wasn't bad for for six

weeks until Andrew Thomas got hurt and then again it wasn't just him It was um

Renan got hurt Schmidz got hurt So it was and again the thing is Ryan never

got hurt Green Bay and he comes here and he gets hurt So it's very giant thing to do Why did why did the uh the movie V uh

I want to say it's uh I think it's either vacation or Christmas vacation run through my head when you said no one

signed Hubard yet and the the the line of well uh Eddie's still looking for a job He's holding out for a management

position Hubard's like ah I'll wait till I need a starting left tackle position I'm just

gonna wait Uh yeah So uh so I guess you know look we I we got hit for being

optimistic or at least I think I got hit for being optimistic Seven and 10 is not optimistic Well I was it wasn't even the

it was a previous episode where where we were talking about you you have to be optimistic and I'm thinking if you're a

Giants fan and you're not optimistic after the draft and I'm not saying you go in thinking we're going to win That's

not what optimism is by the way It just means that things might be getting better and that we I can see it kind of

turn around We got Abdul Carter If you don't feel the And that's the thing we've talked about you mentioned it more

than anybody All the stuff that we keep looking at and Abdul Carter is over here People keep kind of not really focusing

on the fact they're talking about him or or Darius Alexander He's potentially the defensive rookie of the year By the way

I just saw another thing where somebody who was at the Senior Bowl and they said Darius Alexander was the best defensive

lineman at the Senior Bowl Nobody could really block him So people aren't talking about those two picks They're

talking about Scataboo and they're talking about Dart So Darius Alexander could be a huge impact on this team A

huge impact on this team He's going to be ignored They're going to leave a guard on him They might not be able to block him Anthony this is a really good

question I mean that's a really good question I I don't know the answer to that question but that's a really good

question I guess it depends on where they think Dart is and how soon would

Wilson falter So if it's early in the year yeah I could see Jameus Winston

doing but I don't think they I mean Winston I mean um Russell would have to really really kind of like not look good

at all Um or get hurt Um I would think if something happened early we would see

Jamus but if it was later it would be Dart my guess I I I would think that's probably true The only thing the only

way if Dart looks really good in the preseason again I still don't think he's going to start I I don't think you can

start him period with what you've set up But if he looks pretty good and they the

Giants feel like they could move Winston to a team that needs a quarterback and get anything for him then maybe you do

that because now you put Dart in that position to be ready to go The one thing they're going to again the Giants are

going to continue to try to keep at bay is the crowd trying to pull Dart in sooner than they want to play him That's

why you've got the veterans You don't if you have just one quarterback and you draft the rookie the crowd is going to

be for that rookie They're going to be chanting his name from day one The second something goes bad that's who

they're going to be calling for You've got a little bit of space here You've got Wilson you got Winston I don't think they're going to separate that deal

unless one of those two looks really bad or Dart just looks incredibly good in

the summer It would be interesting to know if the Giants would have still signed Winston had they knew in advance

if they they were going to get Dart So now the advantage to Winston is this It's a two-year deal People in in the in

in the sports media world keep getting it wrong They keep saying Winston was a one-year deal It's a two-year deal he'll

be here next year as the backup quarterback for Dart Um so in a way it's there is an advantage for him being here

because we have our backup already next year but I wonder if they would have done that if they knew in advance that

they would able to get the quarterback right Like for an example if they had the first overall pick would they have

signed two veteran quarterbacks I don't I don't know if they would have done that Um yeah I I I totally agree with

you I think he I think if anything what that told us and we and we brought this up on some of our previous shows so

please go back and watch them Um we said that when they signed the two veteran quarterbacks that really gave them the

flexibility to at three to go Abdul Carter or a Travis Hunter they don't

have to go get that quarterback at three That that gave them options because if you were still going in with just one

guy right that you you have to get them You can't risk not having the quarterback They insulated themselves

from that that overall I we got to make this decision at three and I think

you're but to your point had they known that Dart would have been there and they still could have got him maybe they

don't get a Winston maybe they get a Flaco or somebody else that they can kind of just who's a little less popular

or something a little less on infl Well I didn't mean that I didn't mean if they would if they would even get another veteran I mean I think Winston's fine

for what he what he's doing I just don't know if they would have signed two veterans I don't think it would have been you know it's tough to consider

going in with Tommy Devito as possibly your other quarterback You know what I mean And they kept him as a three as a

third quarterback Well when they kept him though they kind of had nobody Yeah You know what I mean At this point

what's his role on this team I mean is he just a camp arm at this point I would think he's got to be I mean you Who's he

taking reps from I don't know I don't I hope that he's not getting many reps I

the best the best thing would be sort of to stash him on this practice Well the best thing would be able to trade him if

they could get late in camp and somebody even sends a seventh round draft pick for him That would be the be that would

be the best thing You know they don't someone doesn't want to compete for him on the waiver wire and they they say

we'll give you a seventh rounder for him That would be even if it's like a flip of picks like a six and a like we had

that Dallas there was that defensive lineman that was here only for like a week and

Dallas traded for him and we we flipped and that's going to actually help us out next year because we have a we have two

sixes instead of a six and seven Um so and again people who say that doesn't matter look at the last draft that we

just had I mean we look like we got some decent players in the seventh round so and we didn't have a have a sixth round

pick So who knows what we would have done in the sixth round Maybe maybe we just maybe we get a a large hogy in a I

mean you know just whatever I remember him as the guy that cost us a Derek May

I mean or not may um Jaden Daniels I remember him as the guy who cost us Jane Daniels I mean I don't have a pleasant

memory about You have your list of like previous seasons of of late season meaningless wins that really piss you

off It does piss me off So I mean what Yeah Good those those culture wins really helped us in 2024 didn't they

Anyways on that note on that note we are still trying to stay positive Uh things are really taking off Really do

appreciate it The subscribers have really gone up The the views have gone up Um a lot of stuff is really working

We we we love it We we're going to be doing some more stuff uh now that we're kind of in the off season We were going
