Inside BBI with John and Eric- NFL Mock Draft First 10 Picks

all right we are back with another inside BBI with John and Eric and we are

live Uh it is a uh Wednesday night it has been a crazy ass day uh we had a lot

of fun the other night with uh with Jason Brandt visiting i know it's it's a little bit of a different show for folks

uh we did talk football we talked some some of the Steeler stuff we talked Russell Wilson but uh my beers are on their way up i'm getting a little pissed

i gave somebody 655 it's now 700 my beers have not arrived yet uh I'm going to have to You're a little bossy with

the beer i noticed that when your kids start bringing the beer i Because first time it happened I thought you were

talking to your wife and I was like damn no no you're a little bossy when you don't get

your beer on time my By the way I've got like a bird on my trivia i'm I'm waiting for mine i'm gonna have to message down

i'm going to say where the hell's my beer my kids should be bringing it up and be happy about it after I got a call from the high school today i think he

should be doing anything I asked for uh pretty quickly here but anyway that being said we had a good show the other

night uh yes and Neil's in here by the way he knows for sure he knows for sure that I would not be talking to my wife

that way so you might want to look at that comment oh you got called out on that i

know i dude I to you know what it was so the funny thing is is when it came up

and it was talk and he's right they never actually go back and say his name

it was Ben in the beginning and I'm like "God he looks just like I'm like I'm telling you man." But yeah I got

caught on i felt like such a I'm like "Fuck ah that never happens to me." I'm like "But it did." So you know what [ __ ]

happens i've had a lot going on [ __ ] happens we got even our We got our We even got

our uh Now now our viewers are Exactly we are promoting drinking everywhere um

so in trouble so that being said let's before we're going to do a little bit of a mock draft we're not jumping into it

first i want to get to a couple things and a big thing is Russell Wilson got the number three so uh Deontay Banks

gave up the three i'm curious on if there's any money involved there banks is going to go to a two uh I was going

to make a comment to the fact that he went to number two i figured it matched the way he played last year but I left that from posting that online but now I

just said it somebody tweeted that out at me when I tweeted that change out said "Well he plays like number two." So

and for Deontay I think Deontay's in store for a comeback year and we're

going to all owe him an apology here and I'll be thrilled if that is the case because we as you've stated multiple

times we've talked multiple times you've got to have two solid cornerbacks three we need three well you Yeah we we didn't

even have two functional ones but uh say thank you to your kid i'm waiting till it gives me everything thank you

god my son's I did jesus don't make it out to like God you make us sound

services i have not funny in a whole bunch of ways so I've got Sierra Nevada

pale ale handcrafted ale so I'm going with a little Sierra Nevada i've got something what looks like the St louis Cardinals on my It's a Blue Ridge logger

i've got that so I will say I my kid is he I I got to brag just for a second he

is a straight A student um he could have moved to Maine with his mom he stayed here with us because he knew it was a

better environment for him to to get where he needed to go school-wise is that I'm a little bit of a better I have

a better feel for how he needs to go he's a straight A student um he made a National Honor Society piece i'm very

proud of him so yes I thank you for the beer and he walked away and stuff but he's a huge he's a huge fan of our of of

what we do so there you go and he's not even a sports fan but he loves what we're doing so and before we move on I'm

actually looking forward to seeing all the numbers that the players new players get i know I'm I'm dumb like that but I

like to see Well no it's always cool though it's It's fun um it's weird you

know when we were when we were young um you would see the oneoff here and there

of the difference you know how they've they've changed the numbering and they've allowed players to have they were very much before linebackers were

in the 50s or or you were or you were in the 90s later on you could have 90s but that was pretty much it but if you

remember the Giants had Brad Vanel he was number 10 the Giants had Phil Taber who played linebacker a lot he was a D

lineman but he played linebacker a lot he was 80 and Casey Merrill played linebacker a lot they would bring him as

a standup off and on he was a defensive end they bring him as a standup and he was 71 so there was a Casey Merrill

reference oh my god there you go that was a He was on a team that sacked

the quarterback like crazy the 85 was that the 85 or the 84 85 Giants

sacked the quarterback like crazy so it was across the board you had guys like Jerome Sally and and um like you um

Casey Martin Mcgriff yeah Martin McGriff Bert Sally those are and D Hardson

linebacker so and Marshall was on Marshall was on the team at that point too so yeah yeah yeah absolutely focus

people are going to get tuned out here well no we got people say Brad Vampel was one of my favorite players growing

up be before LT arrived i love Brad Vanel and I mean that whole team that again the linebackers before LT you had

Mlofflin was on the outside he kind of whatever you had uh Vampel you had uh

Brian Kelly you had Harry Carson I I loved those linebackers and LT just came and made it all any anyway all right

let's get let's get focused here so before we get to the mock anything you want to discuss so well I wanted to see

if you had any thoughts on we saw Brian first off Jesus crow Brian Dal looks he

just looks different why does he look he looks almost depressed i thought he looked really depressed at first and

then I saw a picture of Kyle Shanahan and I was like "Oh my god there is a guy that is depressed." So but Dable he just

kind of has a different look but what did you think of his comments as they were asking him about number three and

they got to uh talking about Hunter he he kind of perked up quite a bit about

the versatility of Hunter yeah and remember I had heard from an ass hat

that they were impressed with Hunter's interview at the combine so um but he perked up i thought he perked up

noticeably when he was asked about Hunter and usually they don't say anything but he he seemed to be like he

seemed like he wanted to talk about Hunter now somebody will say "Well that was smoke they don't want that." But

Hunter Well and we'll get to that when we get to the mock drip hunter is a very safe pick for the Giants because when

you think about Do you want to get into this now or you want to get into Well wait well I mean we'll do the mock piece that's going to include all the teams

but let's talk we're talking about Hunter because that's who he was talking about yeah because Hunter's very safe for them because

um if he flames out at one position he probably doesn't flame out at the other position so you see what I'm saying

because and the Giants kind of quasi have a need at both because you you kind of want to come out of the draft with at

least another corner maybe didn't have to be a starting corner but now you have insurance if

Banks is not is a problem and then you have insurance for if if um um Sllayton

isn't really playing all that well so he he would he he sort of and then if he flames out at one of those spots you can

use him at the other spot so he's actually a kind of really safe pick not only because he's a the top one of the

he may be the top ranked player in this draft but he's also the top ranked

player at two positions in this draft so the the bust factor on him knock on

knock on wood is really is much lower than a normal prospect because if you can't use him one spot you can use him

in the other spot well he's also a um he's like a roster hinge because what he

does is he gives you flexibility in either one of those two spots maybe I don't need to carry six wide receivers

because Hunter can come in and play wide receiver if we want him to play wide receiver if I'm going to play him more

as a receiver I don't necessarily need to carry a a fifth corn you know a

combination slot corner i've got a corner playing wide receiver who I could always put over there so he gives you

roster flexibility uh which is something that you know if you can really take

advantage of those things it's good i I will say I I was very much against

Hunter and we'll talk about when we do the mock draft of what's going to happen there but I've always been against Hunter saying it just wasn't the right

thing for the Giants the way they are right now but that was prior to us getting two veteran quarterbacks

now it kind of there isn't the necessity to go I've got to have this or I've got to have that you have room to kind of do

something else whatever you decide to do and his talent is such now that it does

make it a more even thing with Abdul Carter I think but anyway we'll we'll get to that but he'll be the Giants are

in a bad spot but they're in a good great spot i know that sounds really really weird the bad spot is if you if

there was one player you really wanted to come out of this draft w with if you were the Giants it would have been Cam

Ward well Cam Ward looks like he's off the table i still think they're going to call i

think I still think the Giants are going to make one last attempt you know on draft night and and just just see if the

Titans were bluffing and but I don't think that's going to happen but Cam Ward would have been perfect for us um

the wild card is Shadur but if they don't draft Shador we're in a great spot because we'll get we'll get either uh

Carter or we'll get Hunter and that's and that's great i mean other if you're the P if you're the Patriots you've got

to be going "God please somebody draft Shadore." That's what the Patriots have to be thinking right now because if they

if Shadur and Carter go before the Patriots they kind of really want an offensive lineman I think and four is

really high for an offensive lineman so so well we'll get when we start breaking that down i don't want to do too much of

that because I don't want to steal from you're stealing from that um to let everybody know it has been confirmed now

obviously things could change between now and then but at the moment it's been confirmed mo so we will be doing a show

Monday night and Bobby Skinner will be the the guest on the show Monday night so we will be doing a show with Bobby uh

and he will be on here for those of you wondering a lot of drama going on there we'll get the behind the scenes on all

that stuff so yeah in his take on his take on some of the players it sucks for Bobby um I actually I side with Bobby on

this i mean that I mean it's I shouldn't say I'm taking sides but he that that really sucks he

basically got his his brand yanked away from him and um I watched the video he put out and

you could tell that really hurt him and I can understand I if somebody took my website away from me I'd be pretty pissed so um so I'm glad that he's

coming on i'm sure he's going to do well and um we'll see what he has to say but

but it's all over social media about this with Giants fans it's actually it's

the big brewhaha this week was was even the the the beat reporters are tweeting about it which I thought was interesting

uh yeah and Carl Banks Carl commented on it and stuff which by the way Carl Banks

if you happen to see this you said you would come on after the Big East tournament alone nope i'm gonna dog your

ass until you come on you said you would you know hey I'm playing just like you did in in 90 with a with a broken wrist

you get your butt on here you said you would come on we we'll treat you with unbelievable respect but if you tell me you're coming on I kind of have They're

mad at us we keep making fun of them they're mad at us we did make fun we didn't make Who's We make fun of the Giants at times the Giants but we didn't

make fun of Carl oh God no no yeah but there are people make fun I still have i

still have the Carl's what is it carl carl's bank is closed on Sunday i like

my basement but I still have that there are people There are people on X that give Carl a lot of [ __ ] and it's fine if

you think that he's towing the company line i I I don't have a problem with that that's your choice if you want to

say that i don't have a problem with it it's the level that they go to and the things that they say this guy is a guy

who in many ways belongs in the Hall of Fame again if you match his career up against some other linebackers he is as

talented as anybody and his 86 postseason is by far the greatest postseason of a of a defensive player as

far as I'm concerned ever he was forget I love LT Banks was the man who ran the

86 playoff run shut down San Francisco was all over Washington and if you look

in Denver I can't remember off the top of my head but I believe he was in on 12 tackles in that game he was he would have easily been the MVP if Phil Sims

didn't play as well as that game exactly yeah i think the people that go after Carl on Twitter never saw Carl play

because if you did you wouldn't even dare

dare run into Carl at some function and he kicks the [ __ ] out of you i'm not gonna go down that anyway Carl was a bad

dude so I again Carl deserves nothing but respect so in the following season

the the tragedy was the strike year carl was better than LT this year and people

don't want to even think about that that year because it was a horrific season but he was the better he was the better

linebacker on the Giants in the 87 season and I'll even though the Giants won the Super Bowl in 90 I still think

they they had a really good team in ' 89 bavaro got injured but a lot of what I

feel kind of led down to where they didn't have the the longevity of of ch

of championship like didn't have the multiple championships the longevity of being in the championships was all tied to the 88

season and the holdouts banks was a hold out uh I think Bavaro got a contract

late um they it really affected these guys later on and then the big injury to

Bavaro in '89 so there's a lot anyway we're going down memory lane we are people are saying because you know why

because they win because they were winning then losing seasons were like one and then we won a bunch not you know

anyway and by the way um idea everyone in in chat too i think we should after

we get past the draft because I think we're going to have a lot of cool draft stuff first of all we've got some cool guests coming up i'm sure we'll get Sai

again if he if we can manage it but we've got um Dave from Scouts Honor is

going to be coming on at some point we're going to probably have other draft people coming on and we're going to have a lot of draft content but after we get

past the draft I think we should start doing some position reviews i think that'd be kind of fun to like go over

the running back room go over the wide receiver room that kind of thing i think that'd be kind of cool too absolutely all right so you want to do the draft or

Yeah why don't we why don't we uh kick into it um and this this uh this mock

draft is brought to you by absolutely nothing it is straight from us um but

you know there you go and everyone does mock drafts you can't go on YouTube without seeing somebody doing a mock

draft so and people seem to like it so let's let's start and we'll do this a little different we're we'll collaboratively go through these not

we're going to do it collaboratively well I mean you'll have yours mine and we'll kind of come to agreement i want to see where we where we think it'll

fall so let's start with Tennessee and now this is a trade you said no trade no trade but we can note if we think in

reality a trade may happen so you can know if you think I think somebody will trade no electric shock treatment no

exactly so we'll we'll start with Tennessee and I'll let you go first you seem to think already it's a Cam Ward

done deal well yeah i mean I think I mean they're going to take Cam Ward unless um

somebody blows him away with an offer unless they're completely um bluffing i

don't think they're bluffing i mean they just seem to be even the if you heard the commentary coming out of the proday

from people that were standing near the Titans people they were kind of gaga

over Cam Ward at that point i The irony is it sounds like they the Giants might have been able to make a trade around

the time of the combine it sounds like if they offered their first round draft pick next year um but I think that

that's passed right now so but it still won't shock me the Giants make a call and say "Are you sure are you sure

you're not moving?" I could see them offering ne next year's number one um would I do it

i don't know but I could see them doing it and I don't and I don't think that's going to happen yeah i I think Tennessee

is not as 100% sold on the one spot with Ward not because of Ward but I think

because of what they look at as their overall team so I'm going to say I think Tennessee is still a trade possibility i

just don't think we are the trade possibility really i think yes i think our I think our I I'm not really sure

about the who cleveland no Cleveland won't move up there's no reason to you could see you could maybe see Vegas i

don't I don't think so it might be a team a little bit lower but they're going to have to offer a lot the thing

is Vegas would have to offer a ton to move tennessee is missing a lot of pieces so I'm curious on where where

they're going to go with that but for now I'm gonna go with you that I think it's Ward i don't think I do think a

trade is possible i just don't think we're the team i will go on record if a trade happens with Ward it'll be the

Giants i don't see how it's anybody but the Giants okay um all right because I I

I don't think the Raiders have enough ammo to move up that far i think they're going they'd want way more than the

Raiders next year's number one for the for to do that and I think they might see the the the the

the thing the Giants have to sell is they that if if uh the Titans drop

down they're still going to get Carter or they're still going to get Hunter if they you know by going to three so So

that's the best of both worlds if the Titans aren't sold on on the quarterback

is you still can get one of those two guys and and still get the next next year's number one draft pick i don't

think they'll go down to the Raiders cuz I when I so as as I was prepping for this mock draft you know I hate mock

drafts but I He does i was very happy he's willing to as I was prepping for this mock draft this draft kind of falls

off pretty quickly so even in the 10 even in in the 10 so this is not a this

is not a great I think there are good players in this draft but it seems to me there's a bunch of second rounders in

this draft there's not a lot of first rounders in this so this is why I say that that first pick might still be up

for grabs i don't necessarily think that a team that trades up there is going after Ward it might be to get Hunter or or

Carter one of the other teams so you could see a Jacksonville make that jump

you could see the Jets possibly making that jump now they would they could possibly go for for Ward but I just have

a weird feeling that we're overrating the quarterbacks more than some of the NFL teams are and and underrating Hun

and and underrating how much higher Hunter and Carter are on the board

compared to everybody else and some teams that's a really big deal but for now we're going to stick to this we both agree with no trades involved Cam Ward

should be the pick and I agree with you that Hunter might be the player that people trade up for for two reasons one

team's got to have to be a little bit wary a little bit wary about the foot issue yes and the shoulder and the

shoulder and and but the other thing that we have not talked about and this is some people are going

to say this is not a major thing but I think the way the NFL is evolving it it is becoming a major thing the marketing

power of a two-way player in the NFL is gonna be huge so right they are

going to make a superstar um you thought Odell Beckham was getting all this attention wait till they get the two-way

player who's a star in both sides of the NFL is going to and and if he lands in New York or if he lands in one of the

big market teams that's going to be a big big deal everyone's going to want his jersey it's going to be huge so

think think of um the last time we saw to that level and it was in a time where

marketing was far less than what it is today there wasn't the internet and that was Bo Jackson right this blow that away

this is Bo was a two sports star but he they This is a guy who can be a star on

both sides of the ball and you can like you said that's a marketing bonanza and

in a big market like New York uh you put them maybe in LA they'll never make it

that far down uh even Vegas you're going to get so much attention that that's

just that that's huge there there's more to teams when they draft guys than just winning games if John Mara can't get his

team to win games he will want people in the stands just to watch yeah it will be his it'll be his Barkley replacement

times 10 right i would say because again it's going to be the novelty it's going to be what's he going to do this week

how are they going to use him this week so so um so let's uh so we Tennessee

we're going to say Cam Ward Tennessee is off the board now here comes here comes the big problem cleveland's the big this

I think the draft starts with Cleveland that's I think that's where this is the hard this is the hard pick from a pick

standpoint or I think because nobody has a clue what Cleveland's going to do so but I'm saying is do you think it's a

pick standpoint or they're open for business to trade down yes

i haven't thought about that but they could do you i kind of think they might i mean again they've got a weird salary

cap situation with so much money on the books right now and guy you know one guy

not even playing but they blatantly came out and said Watson was a mistake it's

weird to say that when he's still on your roster it would be like if the Giants actually came out and fully admitted that Jones was a mistake and

worst mistake we made and then he's still on the roster the difference is the Giants were like looking for a replacement and then they would they

were like "Oh well you're our quarterback." That was delusional but they basically made that statement but

yet is Sanders going to be the guy good enough at that point or could Cleveland

conceivably move down get some extra stuff because they draft picks cost less

and they have a salary cap problem and they want to clear stuff off i don't know i I'm I'm kind of like thinking

they're open for business and I could see the Giants and them flipping if the Giants were worried that Sanders might

go there and somebody else might come in then the Giants are going to foolishly spend capital i don't go down that path

but I was thinking about this if I'm Cleveland so say they want Shadur and we I think I think New

England wants Hunter and so say they the thinking about that Cleveland doesn't

know 100% that the Giants won't draft Shadur though there by watch I've been

watching nonstop shows you how bored I am right now i've been watching non-stop draft stuff from the the the

professional pundits from the from the YouTubers the influencers whatever you want to call them non-stop for the last

few days i don't know much but the one thing or the two things I do know is nobody

knows what Cleveland's going to do and nobody knows what the Giants are going to do everybody has a different opinion

on both those teams and they and they and they all couch their comments by

saying um the Giants will probably do this but

don't count out so they they hedge their bets on everything it's which nobody knows what their Giants are going to do

and no one knows what Cleveland's going to do and it you might not like what the Giants did at quarterback and free

agency but the one thing it did do is it has caused greater confusion with other

teams and fans and pundits about what the Giants will actually do and we'll get to that when we discuss the Giants

thing so what the Cleveland how this impacts Cleveland is if Cleveland wants Shadur and the smart thing would be to

trade down and draft Shadur if you're convinced the teams in front of between you won't draft him can they 100% for

sure predict that the Giants won't draft Shadore i wouldn't be confident if if if I was them i would think the Giants

probably won't but I'm not 100% sure i think Cleveland if you're Cleveland the

one thing you want to do is get the Deshun Watson contract off your books as soon as you can but in order to do that

eventually you've got to have somebody else in the fold a young quarterback on his first year contract his rookie

contract so it would be they they're the other team that would love have loved to have gotten Ward ward would have been

perfect for Cleveland too sure so Giants and Cleveland are sort of in the same boat so who do you who are you picking

for Cleveland because I have a different thought on Cleveland everyone seems convinced that Cleveland

is going to draft not everyone most I would say 80 to 90% that I've seen seem

they think they're going to draft C they're going to draft Carter mhm i would not discount them taking Hunter um

I've seen very few people having them pick Hunter and I don't know why um you could play Hunter at wide receiver

remember um and he could help out he could help out there i saw one guy say today and it was one of the the the guys

it might have been um on NFL.com he said he could see the Giants starting Hunter

off on defense with a little bit on offense but if he went to Cleveland he could see Hunter starting off on offense

and so he said sometimes it's team specific um I think I hate to go with the go with

everybody but I'm gonna say Carter so I think if they stay and you said we

can't you said we I'm just we can't say they're trading with this team now we just know if we think they're going to

trade i think Cleveland's open for business i think there's a good possibility that Cleveland Cleveland might be a target train master brought

up the question to I believe it's Train Master brought it up to me about what do I think about New England getting ahead

of us for for Hunter that's possible i'm not sold that very possible but I'm not

sold that New England's after Hunter new England is going to probably want to fortify the front seven on defense or

their offensive line the other way it's too high for an offensive lineman to move up you would stay at four if that's

what you were going to do so New England could move but we're not talking trades at the moment but I'm just saying Cleveland's open if they stay I think

it's Carter the reason I think it's Carter is I don't think Sanders comes in and provides anything more than what

Kenny Picket can provide this first year with a Cleveland team that's got some

issues and that the quarterback would have to overcome so much more if your

defense can take over games you can keep a more limited offense and to give

credit to our guest from Monday night Jason Bran who brought up at the very end he's wondering if some teams with

the cost of quarterbacks being such that we might start to see a shift back to teams becoming power running game look

at the the Ravens yes they have Lamar Jackson he had a much better year when they were able to use uh Derrick Henry

and pound the ball control the line of scrimmage there was a lot of running and mixed in with that if you want to

protect a bad quarterback you got to be able to run the ball you want to protect a bad offense you have a very good

defense that gets you the ball in short fields i think it's I think it is Abdul Carter unless they trade and keep in

mind with Cleveland this um Cleveland has a very high pick obviously in in the

second round and they're one of those teams that could trade back into the first round which a lot of people are

predicting and get the quarterback like they could get a Jackson dart at that at that point too if Shidora gets past us

Shidora can drop and Shador could be could make it into the 20s um is it

likely i don't know but if Shador gets past us Shador could drop and and the team I saw a mock today where Shador

where somebody traded up and got Shador at 20 um it was Cleveland trading up and getting him now um that would I don't

know what the what the cost of that trade would be um but that's kind of the same thing the Giants would would there were you know there was speculation out

there that the Giants might be able to get Hunter and um Shadur Shadur in the

same draft they're both Colorado guys we would have to basically do the same thing that that that scenario here we'd

have to trade back up to like 20 to do to do that so I think Carter's a safe pick i will not be shocked if Shidor

gets drafted at at two i would not I I I I'm prepared for that to be happen and

that might actually be a good thing for the Giants because the Giants I don't know if you saw this um

it shows you how far behind I am on the technology i just did my first mock draft simulator just an hour ago and u I

went to ESPN and um Shadur went too and so I had to choice between um Hunter or

Carter and just out of curiosity I I wanted to see if New England would trade with me so they didn't lose the so they

got the guy that they wanted which I assumed was going to be Hunter so I put

in I said would you trade your second round pick and they accepted the trade now they ended up they actually ended up

taking Carter but I I took Hunter at four and I got their second round pick

and it was great because I had a pick at 34 and a pick at 38 sure i thought that was I thought I don't think that's going

to happen in real life but but teams will trade up one spot to make sure that they get the player that they want it's

it's it's not unusual the Giants have done it the Giants did it in 2002 when they traded with Tennessee one spot to

move up to make sure that they got Jeremy Shocki i was actually at that draft it was a lot of fun had a bunch of Raider fans behind me it was pretty cool

they were dressed to the nine with their shoulder pads and all that good [ __ ] so we're at the Giants we're We're picking

three ward's gone carter's gone you're the Giants i'll let you go first oh no

what are you doing what do you think the Giants are doing my opinion on this pick

in this scenario has flip-flopped all day long cuz I want to be 100% sure so

we're saying Carter's gone right carter went too so Ward Carter I think the Giants love um Hunter i I think I think

I I don't think it was I think Dable it wasn't an act with him today i

think he a lot of sense for the Giants because he's in

insurance is the right isn't the right word because he's elite all right look there are two players in this draft

everybody's sold on Carter and Hunter and if you can get one of those two guys out of this draft out of a draft that

isn't very topheavy then you got to be pretty darn happy so this is a good scenario for the Giants and they get a

player that can step in and start at a Pro Bowl at cornerback if and he

probably takes Deontay Banks's job the downside is you're kind of giving up on Deontay Banks already the other thing is

he can come in and also size got him as and a lot of people

do as the number one wide receiver in this draft so you could actually have because if you have a a receiver group that has Malik Neighbors and Hunter out

there holy hell so maybe it doesn't matter who your quarterback is so much at that point so he's really grown on me

because he can do you can the Giants can use him in so many different ways he's very clean he's got as far as I can tell

he's got no off the- field issues in fact it's the opposite he He seems to be like the kind of guy that you'd want to

bring in the building he's going to make the Giants a ton of money like I said earlier um the problem I have is

this the Giants improve the quarterback room but the quarterback room is probably still

the fourth best in the NFC East we're not even talking the NFC we're talking about the NFC East now opinions may vary

on Dak Prescott he owns us so I've got a little higher opinion of him than others

but we're not going to become a serious football team until we fix the

quarterback situation and and if you pass on Shadur you're not likely to

address the quarterback situation in this draft i know where you're going with with Jaylen Milo i know I know

where and and I and I haven't anything yet and I and I and I and I don't oppose

that but the odds that Jaylen Milro is going to pan out are not are far less than Shador Sanders depends on what

you're thinking but yes so I well I think Shadore is really I think like I've said a lot of times I think people

are knock are knocking Shadur for a variety of reasons way more than they should be i think he is

legitimately the second best quarterback in this draft it wouldn't be s surprise me if he's actually the best quarterback

in this draft right off the bat because I think he he will be he's been coached

in a pro style by our former head coach um he

process give me a quarterback who processes well who makes quick decisions

who is very accurate and can read defenses and that's Shadore shador does

not have the ideal perfect traits but if you give me a quarterback that can and his arm is is been way underrated he's

not have a rocket but he doesn't he doesn't have a peashooter either so I'm

pretty sure that Shadur is going to be a viable NFL starter in this in this

league what I don't know is how what what the ceiling is on him so I don't know how I don't know how good he's

going to get but I think if the Giants got him he could be a 10ear starter 15ear starter in this league but the

problem is is how good can he get so minus all of what you just said there right who you giving to the Giants with

your pick here Hunter or Sanders you sold me who do I give or who

well you're we're picking based on what we think the teams are doing what we think the Giants will do what do you think you think they're Hunter okay i'm

going to agree with you and I'm going to even if even if it was Hun even if it

was Hunter Carter I'm going to go against what I had said previously i now think it is Hunter and there's a reason

why you mentioned all this other stuff and you brought up all these things about Sanders and I don't disagree with

you but I have a real problem with the number of sacks he takes i'm a little concerned about his overall size i'm a

little concerned about the fact that he's been coached the entire time from high school through he has been coached

by his father he's not going to wilt under the pressure of whatever but he brings an

air of pressure to the rest of the team to ownership to the coaching

staff the idea that you better give him talent is just as much as you better be

bringing talent and I worry that that piece is there so I do think it's Hunter

now i'm getting a weird feeling the Giants have decided it's Hunter he You mentioned I do too i got that feeling

too you used insurance and then you took it back you're like "No not insurance." I agree with you it's not insurance you know what he is he's insulation what

does insulation do it keeps you cool in the summer it keeps you hot it keeps you warm in the winter cool in the summer

warm in the winter what is Hunter he's a hot producing offensive player and he's

a cool shutdown corner that guy is insulation to a team if you bring them you've got two options and I free up a

roster spot i think the Giants are going to go on that all day nope actually I just did it the second you sent

insurance but the reason I think that's the case

is yes I'm 100% on board with the Giants are going to draft Jaylen Milro why

because you're worried about him being the the quarterback the guy i'm not

worried about him being that i don't even know if I care if he's the guy down the road what I do care about is they

can use him in a far greater role than a Taesm Hill exactly a far greater role than Justin

Fields and you have two very decent quarterbacks who are somewhat less

mobile than they used to be and one's kind of immobile so you bring a guy like that in it opens up your offense at

different points in time you can bring them in in the middle of the game you can run certain things and by the way

nobody thought Lamar Jackson was going to be that guy i think Jaylen Milro is

going to be the guy but that's a whole different thing but I'm putting it down i'm going to make a little video for it jaylen Milro is going to be the Giants

quarterback that they draft but it will be Travis Hunter here at three i I agree with the possible tradeout but I don't

think the Giants are going to give a Hunter why they've made a serious point about talking about the process and

pointing out the fauxpaw of the past where they've they're and you said it before too it's also very good excuse

making after the fact but that they were pressured in they said the 22 draft i don't think it was 22 i think it was 23

i think it was JMS is what they were talking about he said the first draft he did but I don't believe that's what he

was pointing at i think they're talking about Well and maybe they don't maybe they knew they needed offensive lineman so they took him but the fact of the

matter is he was one of the top rated offensive linements that just means you picked the wrong guy but JMS was a

forced pick we all kind of know that we know and then you can say no to to Milro i got you our friends i know i got I got

you but I think he's going to be a differencemaker non I don't think long term he's going to be the quarterback i

think he's going to be a differencemaker guy but I think well for now because we got to keep it rolling yeah well the

Giants get Hunter at three right well yeah and and I want to focus a little bit more on this because I don't give a

rat's ass about the rest of the pick we'll pick them but we'll pick them we're on the Giants and this is a Giants

channel goddamn it and we're going to talk Giants here all right just so you know John where I'm coming from is

Milro is not likely to be the answer at quarterback i hear you about the Taesm

Hill stuff but we've got to fix the quarterback so I

I know in my heart that Hunter's the smart pick it's the best it's the safest pick what I'm saying is at some point

they got to take another swing and after Cam Ward is off the board and why is Cam

Ward off the board for us i'm not going to say it um Colts game

um Cam Ward is off the board shadur is the second best quarterback in

this draft i know people are falling in love with Jackson Dart i think people are falling in love with Jackson Dart because they don't like Shadore i I

think Jackson Dart's a I took Jackson Dart in in my mock draft that I just did i took him at I took him at 34 because

he was still there i don't think he'll be there at 34 and I took Milro at the bottom of the third round he was still there at the bottom i took him at the

99th pick or or second third round pick so I took two quarterbacks so I I'd have

four quarterbacks on the roster but Milro would be like the the X factor so

anyways um but what about Devito no I'm just kidding i'm I'm totally messing with you five no um so so just so you

know that's the dilemma I'm in is kind of like it's the opportunity cost here if we pass on a quarterback again we're

passing on a quarterback again and we got to realize that we're we're we're still suffering from the Daniel Jones

fiasco because it was six years of [ __ ] and now we're now we're stuck with how

the hell do we get our next court and the Steelers are a little bit in that too when and and and Jason Brandt who

was on our last show said the same thing when they lost Rothllessberger they really haven't recovered from trying to

replace him you know they they drafted people and it hasn't worked out we're sort of in the same boat in the sense

that we still haven't really fully recovered from the Eli Manning era we've drafted Daniel Jones uh we um wasted six

years on him and now we've got to get the next guy in here and where and when do you get the next guy in here ward

would have been perfect if you don't get Ward and you let Shadur go um then you

got to hope that somebody like Milro pans out and you're going to have to draft somebody next year no I so I'm

going to say this and and I'll just I would love to chat for some reason it allows me to message one time and then I

can't add to the chat so I apologize i can bring you up on the screen but I can't chat in there so I'm going to address you guys individually new York

Rush New Giants Russ you know we we love you guys absolutely wait wait just one second he did in my draft yeah and I'll

tell you this PF's mock draft does the same thing he then he tends to be down

in the 90s to the 100s i'll say this about about Jaylen Miller number one I

compare him with Taesm Hill in terms of the way he's used is he a better athlete than Taesm Hill it's not even in

question oh yeah he is an he's an elite athlete you at some point want guys that

can produce points he brings the opportunity to produce points i'm not saying he's the quarterback for the

future i don't really give a [ __ ] if we get a quarterback for the future per se this year as long as you you keep in

mind and Shane need to win you've got Russell Wilson and Jameus Winston you

have two veteran quarterbacks if the Giants were 100% sold on getting a

rookie who was going to see the field this year you would have only signed one veteran quarterback you already had

Tommy Devito he could have been your third they went with two guys both of them who could start there's a reason

for that i think Jaylen Milro has the highest ceiling of anybody in this draft

not because I think he's going to be a great quarterback but I think his floor is much higher because you can use him

other ways it's the possibility that you might hit it out of the park if the guy

can develop at all as a quarterback but let's say he doesn't but that's the only reason why I draft him in two at two the

only reason I would draft him is that I think he can become a quarterback i'm not drafting him at two if I think he's

just a gas player i haven't said where to get him i just said they will get him

i think he's a guy that you bring him in and he you can start first off he gives you a lot of versatility we just talked

about this hunter gives you versatility guess what Milro does milro gives you versatility you need you need a a third

receiving tight end cuz somebody went down you can just kind of have him run out and run a couple patterns catch some passes or you can put him in the back

field if you need to and let him run the ball a couple of times why he's a big dude he's a solid dude he He's not Lamar

Jackson and skinny who runs around as a quarterback this guy could be a legitimate running back if he wanted to

i'm saying don't discount stuff after the first round we're all tied up now you keep bringing up let's let's ignore

the rest of teams for the minute you bring up you keep talking about Sanders more and more and more and I'm beginning

to think that you're trying to sell not only yourself but on the rest of everybody else on Sanders do No no hold

on let me finish let me finish let me finish do you truly No you're fine i don't mean to do that to you but I just

Let me just I want to ask you a question do you really believe if the Giants take him at three are you okay with Sanders

at three knowing that while he has all these plus characteristics there are a couple of things that normally would

keep a quarterback out of the elite conversation that high i would be very

nervous if the Giants took him at three but I would also be nervous if the

Giants went into this season without a quarterback a young quarterback to start grooming for the future because that

means we got to wait to next year and what have you and I talked about over and over again sure it could change i

have no idea who's going to be in the next draft and if they're going to be the Giants are even going to have a shot

at them so I'm nervous i'm a nervous Nelly both ways so the the safe play is

to draft Carter or Hunter that's I no question but what I'm saying is if the Giants are going to get back to being an

NFC East champion or wildcard team they've got to fix the quarterback

russell Wilson's here one year then he's he's gone conceivably yes yeah he's gone then he's gone next year and um Jamus is

he's probably not going to be the guy we got to get a guy so I keep coming back so the perfect scenario would be to get

Milroe and have him turn in the next Lamar Jackson but what are the odds that he turns in the next Lamar and the other

thing is what limelight and I left this up for a while what limelights bring up i've been toying and I know other people have this isn't isn't novel um but the

question is is can Shane and Dable survive building up the roster and then

trying to get the quarterback next year because I'll tell you what after I look

I I look at this draft there are going to be um some I think there's going to

be either a really good guard and and when I say really good I mean somebody who they thought was going to go in the

first round or a really good defensive tackle when we were on the clock at 34 and those are two huge positions of need

for us on the lines and we've said for years the Giants have to get better

better on the lines but when I look at the number of defensive tackles and I mean it's it's unbelievable how many are

in this draft and I think a lot of these guys are going to drop and because there's so many of them and we may be

staring a monster defensive tackle that we can put right next to Dexter Lawrence so if you draft um uh Jaylen Milro and

you miss out on the defensive tackle there's an opportunity cost there too so I'm again I'm just I'm I'm roleplaying

here so I part of me says what Limelight is saying here is you know what if we

don't have a quarterback in this draft that we don't really think is going to pan out then let's just fix the rest of

the roster and we're going to have to try again next year and that sucks but that might be the smart thing to do and

I'm just throwing that out there as an option and and what you're saying with Milro if they draft Milro I'll be excited but again I'm not counting on

that working out so let's say let's let's play scenarios for just a little bit then okay so let's say the draft

went the way we started it ward Carter the Giants are sitting there hunter's

there Sanders there two two player two players of of in positions of need

hunter not as much of a need as it was before but he's a superstar and he can play on two sides of the ball and then

Sanders definitely at a position of need yes there are other players that the Giants could use based on other things

but for now let's just use those two they're both sitting there if let's say

somebody else brought it up let's say New England says "Hey I I I we we really want to come we want to come up we we

want Hunter." You take that deal in a heartbeat because you're only moving down the one spot nobody can Nobody What

are they giving you though well let's for a second you take that deal no matter what because you're just dropping

down to one if you're if you want if you know you're going to you would rather take Sanders like you said one but let's

say New England's not the team that wants to do that let's say it's Jacksonville that wants to jump they want to move over New England they want

Hunter would you drop the five knowing that New England's not going to take

Sanders and now you've picked up extra capital both this year and most likely next year yes even risking losing

Sanders agreed agreed and when I say that is there are a number of players

that are far better than consolation prizes at that position the Giants could

get another offensive lineman i mean they could get a tight end there they could get they there's a lot of players

that are right after us they could get they could get um Graham at I was going to say that's probably would you would

you say he's probably third of the available players we're talking about you know under Sanders Graham i I kind

of have a feeling that Graham would be there i have seen a couple people lately who say he's the safest player in the

draft but he's been overrated that if you put him against a a NFL caliber

guard his his weaknesses um will show up more against that that

I' I've actually seen some people say the gap between him and some of the people other defensive tackles is

smaller than you would think so again I like him a lot and and I would be perfectly fine if especially if you

trade down to the Jacksonville spot with him but I I've I've heard a couple of guys lately say and I've heard people

that love him you know the other people say "Yes he he's great he's fantastic." But when I when you do watch him he is

he's not um he's not Dexter you know he's but he's See I see that's the you

you use the one thing that I say makes him possible and I'm not a big fan of saying he's because I actually like

Kenneth Grant just as much right well there's like I said there's a bunch of them like that but but but for Graham

the safety level the floor level that he brings the consistent play that he brings actually is brings a bit more on

the talent scale when he's lined up to a superstar which is what Dexter Lawrence is if you're bringing him in to be your

superstar I think you're expecting too much from a guy who's not going to be the flashy guy he's he's the guy who's

going to eat up especially if you were in a threeman line he'd be a five technique guy on the end just eating up

the tackle guard spots playing the run really well and then letting the edges make the make the rush through and stuff

in a in a fourman line or the effed up fourman line that we play he's going to play the other essentially the DTackle D

on that side where we play the edges out but you've got Dexter Lawrence who's going to require double teaming that

means Graham's going to be one-on-one against a lot of players and his his strength and that's what he is he's a

he's a strength guy he's a wrestler that's going to really play out but I think dropping down opens the door to a

Graham if he's your consolation prize you drop the five and Sanders still there you take Sanders can I throw a

couple names out there that would be that if we lost out well let me put it

this way if they trade down if they traded down even if they didn't want

Sanders what's crazy the Graham graham oh well I'm going to tell you there are

people out there that I respect who say he's being a little bit overrated that again it's he's more the the the traits

there aren't elite that he's he he's a fantastic college player he's going to

be a very good pro but whether he's going to be a Pro Bowl NFL caliber player they're not so sure but again I'm

just telling you what other people are saying i'll tell you who people that are on my radar if you trade down if you

trade down and one of them is going to get a bad reaction from you one one won't I don't think the first one is is

um I would look at Jaylen Walker um he can play inside he can play out i really

like Jay what from Georgia correct from Georgia i really like him uh if you really want to make a monster defense

Jaylen Walker and he's an attitude player um I And um you're not going to like this i don't like it i don't like

his size it's where are you going to play him i'd start him off inside and then you can rush him off the edge when

you're when when you're um but he's somebody I would consider if you're trading down because I think he's one of

the best players and I'll tell you about who's a better player than him and it'll get the biggest reaction is Genty the

running back if you if you trade down I had a feeling that's what you were gonna say i had if you trade down and people

who the Giants would get mocked big time for letting Saquon go and then then

ending up with Genty but if if you're if you're telling me my quarterback is

Russell Wilson what's the one thing that Russell Wilson does really well at too it's play

action and if you want to So again I'm not saying the Giants should do this i'm just saying if you trade down and you

take your if you trade down you got to think of what are your options if you so I'll give you other players if if we

trade down absolutely Warren would be one and then McMillan the wide receiver

the reason being that we don't have a big guy right our receivers are all kind

of the same now we have a couple towards the back end of the roster but I'm not counting on little you know whatever

Humphrey Jordan or whatever and and you're not counting on Bryce Ford Weaten um So I want a guy that's a big-time

talent he's been compared in some ways to um T higgins i think he's a little

bit I think he has a little less explosion than Higgins but I think he has a little more bulk to him right so I

would McMillan would be an interest uh offensive tackle Will Campbell would be also an interest if we dropped down

because you can always move him inside you could move him inside if you wanted to i don't want to move down too far though i think if you move down to five

and Sanders is still there you get him and you've got those extra picks i'm not sold on Sanders though i think I I he's

not the choice I want to make at quarterback but I I'm with you the one thing I do like is and the one thing

nice Chad Bratzky the one thing I like is the fact that he is unbelievably accurate the biggest flaw that Daniel

Jones had as we talked about was his inability to even the short stuff which is what he was relying on a lot he

couldn't hit guys in the right spot and they could never get it moving they were always having to stop it was always

redirection well he sucked i mean he's Steven Seagal of quarterback

we're going to get people pissed off at us so again guys so so time out so what John and I are talking about here is

this if somebody comes up to the Giants and says "We will trade up to three and

we'll give you next year's number one draft pick or a second rounder and maybe some other picks." Would you consider

then trading down and if you do trade down you've got to think about somebody else you're going to pick then because Hunter is going to be gone at that point

so obviously someone's trading up for Hunter at that point and I'm not sure people are going to give up a number one draft pick next year for Hunter so I

think a lot of this is moot i think the Giants if they're in this scenario they're sticking with Hunter or as John

said they're trading down the four or five to take Shadur at that point so I think a lot of this is just move the

what we're talking about right now only occurs if somebody comes to the Giants and says we'll give you next year's

number one draft pick to move up six spots five spots four spots whatever it

is because the Giants at that point have to listen in my mind because they still have to get the quarterback at some

point next year and if they have two high first round draft picks next year then they can maneuver to get get the

quarterback that they need next year that's the only way but for our exercise you and I are are taking Hunter right

we're drafting Hunter yeah i I've gone full circle on this well actually not full circle i've gone 180 on this

because I I C but if Carter was still there it's really hard for me i still now probably I I know a couple other

people said this well Carter and Hunter probably aren't going to be there together right they could well no

because you've said Cleveland might go Sanders i mean Sanders does both quarterbacks are gone and now you got

both so what I'm saying is my my worry about Carter is this i was all on board

with Carter until he didn't work at his own proday and it wasn't because of the

foot the shoulder which I think they're hiding i think it really was but they included the fact that he also had a

shoulder so now I got a guy with a shoulder i got a guy with a foot and maybe he looked like Micah Parsons when

he But I hear you and I and I want to be and I want to be wrong but I have PTSD

we've got as you pointed out the other day about Giants fans in general PTSD we we got that freaking idiot from uh from

Florida Tony and the guy couldn't even get his goddamn shoes on because his feet were all effed up and then it went sideways fast we get other guys and we

get injuries compare him to Tony that was I'm not comparing him to Tony i'm comparing them to injuries the Giants

are a [ __ ] injury sorry ptsd let's I did that boom but he said injury magnet

and you got to be careful and I don't want to bring a guy in with existing injuries so they better check it out very thoroughly okay so Hunter and

way you're always looking ahead of what might be coming and we're picking up

Tibido's fifth year option more than likely it hasn't been done yet but we we think they will

but that means he got one more year and you have to decide is Tibot going to be a long-term guy and if he's not who's

his replacement right so I would want Carter but if there's any question if

the Giants have any question on his foot or his shoulder and then there's the off the- field incident remember that took

Parsons off the off the thing for the Giants oh if they do that again no I mean I know but they're stubborn we we

know that they're stubborn but Darius Tony cuz I mean that I don't understand where

the hell did that come from honestly so I agree with you i I I will say I can't change my mind that I would want Carter

i just think Hunter's going to be the guy well I think the Giants are tipping their hand a little bit they're they're

like fullon gaga over over him and what he could be well let's again he was

asked they they asked about him and we you and I think well he went from depressed to happy talking happier when

discussing him um again he's safer because if he flames out at one position

he probably doesn't flame out at the other he's consensus the first or second

best player in this draft um and he's and I have seen no character issues with

him in fact it's been the opposite people who have met with him say he's awesome so I think I think the Giants

because we're we're Shane and Dable cannot screw up here i mean they can but

they they can't afford to screw up here again yes right i think Hunter makes sense and again I don't want people to

think well they're it's they're playing it safe hunter Hunter may be the ve may

be the best player in this entire draft and again um the other thing we got to take in account is this is whoever if

they take between those two they're kind of um have to admit that they screwed up

with Tibido or Banks so you know no I don't agree with the Tibido side of

things you're not going to keep Tibido when his contract runs up though if you if you Well I I I agree with you there more than likely you're not and Banks

Banks isn't I mean if Banks isn't gonna start anymore right if you're drafting he's not a slot corner so you're Do you

just anoint a guy coming in or do you make him earn it do you think Do you think Hunter will beat out Banks sure i

don't like Banks but So then you're But I don't think the Giants are just going to hand it to him because you already

have a first but I think it's going to be like that thing that we talked about the other day when LT showed up at camp and the other linebacker knew yeah but

the other linebacker The other linebacker was smart i don't know if I'd put that on Banks um let me ask you this let's I want to

do So William uh just so you know yes we decided to kind of focus more on the Giants at this point we could continue

to go through the rest yeah we will we will we'll do a quick We'll do those yeah we'll blow through it so real quick though so I want to change just the way

we did this so let's say Ward goes first i'm going to and we're going to replace the second one real quick so let's say

Hunter goes second you have Sanders Carter who do you do don't give me a long spiel who do you pick sanders or

Okay other way around carter goes it's Hunter Sanders you're going Hunter correct okay so I'm with you as well i

think that's I think that's the I say that's the smart play i don't know if it's the

best play for the Giants because I I agree i'm kind of But I am happy if the I will be very upset if the Giants trade

up at this point you've signed I'll be pissed if they unless it's Ward unless

it's for Ward and it's I won't even be happy then either because you're giving I if we came out of this draft with Ward

I'd be pretty happy then you shouldn't have freaking signed both quarterbacks only one because what you're doing is

you're legitimately saying this guy is going to sit for the entire season behind they could cut one of these guys

and the the cap hit is minimal look at look at the Falcons okay I don't want anybody to try to throw this in i love

it but they only had Kirk Cousins the Giants went and signed freaking Russell Wilson and you signed Jameus Wilson i'm

would think if it were me I'd fire both of them the second that happened so this you don't trade well you got to keep one

understand Joe what you're saying look at what the Falcons did they only had Kirk Cousins the Giants went and got two

quarterbacks you can't trade up because now you're giving away stuff for next year just to get a guy this year when

you basically should have sat there and said "Okay we might be okay with two quarterbacks one Sanders two Sanders one

Ward we're going to try to move up we'll get one of the two regardless if that's the case we'll make sure we get one of

the two regardless now you would be going "We're giving up the farm to move up but we signed two veterans we're

going to play." You cut Jameus Winston you're you're just losing $4 million that's it it's a $4 million insurance

policy it's not $4 million insurance policy he hasn't played a goddamn down you lost four million for nothing it was

an insurance policy in case you didn't get him i understand where you're coming from that's why they did it this is one of the few times that we've said we

Because because if Jameus Winston signs with some other team you can't assume he would have been unsigned up until the

draft and then we didn't get Warders Sanders then then that's why they did it

sure they got him as far as I know or could know George Young might have been going "Jesus if George Rogers is there

that's our guy." And that might not even have been if LT had been picked we don't know that the draft came to the Giants

it worked out sometimes it's better to just let it come to you you know it's George Castillo's thing do the opposite

of whatever you're freaking thinking you're going to do so but let's summarize though so let's stick with Hunter let's stick with Hunter for the

Giants at this point basically and let's summarize so everyone listening knows what what this means though

i by picking Hunter I'm saying the Giants are probably punting on quarterback again unless somebody gets

to 34 or in trade range you're saying you're you're shooting for for Jaylen

Milro at that point so that Well later not at third not necessarily at 34 i don't Oh so you think you might last i I

do because there's a lot of questions about teams that are going to you remember when you get into that second round right the first round you're

swinging for the fences for the best possible players you can get the guys that might have a lot of um they have a

lot of potential but not necessarily proven like an Allonzo Spelman a guy who was a specimen but you didn't know

because he hadn't produced a ton and then he didn't um Lamar Jackson you pulled him in in the first round even though technically there were so many

questions about him it was his athletic ability that allowed the Raven remember as much as other people like to forget

including GOPS the Ravens picked freaking a tight end from South Carolina

in the first round before they traded back in to get Jackson so it's not it's

not necessarily that you you had a guy pegged it just it came to you and just realize though that you could run into a

situation where Pittsburgh takes Dart at 21 yes yes and then Cleveland takes

Milro before us in the second round and then you're also punting at that point unless you want to draft yours later on

or how I think you you you said you take a flyer on Howard at one point uh Howard

um he's a little bit by McCord I would take later shuck I would but he's a little bit older uh and I worry that the

one year and the injury history I I don't want an older guy all over the board on him they either think he's

could end up in the bottom of the first round or they think he's like third or fourth round they are all over the place

on him i'll say this whenever you hear guys say that right whenever you hear media people suddenly start saying a guy

who's been pegged in the fifth sixth seventh round oh he could go in the first round i'm going to tell you this it's generally [ __ ] and it's

generally because the quarterback position is so thin for that draft look at the one with Will Levis right

everybody thought Levis was going to go in the top 15 top 20 guy sat through the second round gino Smith first round

quarterback nope he sat through to the second round aaron Rogers dropped all the way down to the bottom alex Smith went first rogers went way late in the

first i think that's the kind of draft we're looking at the Giants the Giants are the lynch pin of this draft as far

as quarterbacks go if Ward goes and the Giants come up and Sanders is there and

they don't take a quarterback I could see Sanders dropping a ton and he could

be down well into the middle and that's the theory that a lot of people have that the Giants if they take Hunter

could trade back in to get Sanders if that happens I'm okay with trading back

in at the bottom of the round i don't want to trade up above three the cost is

too much to move two spots i am and that's let's move on but I I am kind of

this is probably a bad way to look at the draft i didn't used to be like this guys i always used to be best player available best player available i

started following the draft really closely in 1985 1985 like getting all the draft

books and stuff i've been doing this a long time and I used to be like best player available now I'm as the way the

league's evolved and and looking at the the quality of who's going to probably be there I am laser focused at 34 at

three positions defensive tackle um offensive guard or maybe tackle there

a tackle could drop there but it's more at guard um and then there are a ton of edge rushers in this draft so if we

didn't get a Carter um at three and and maybe that defensive

tackle wasn't there or the guard isn't there there are a bunch of edge rushers there so so that's why part of the

problem this gets back to the earlier comment by Limelight i'm almost I'm almost at this point like let's just get

the roster let's get everything around Russell Wilson solid

and then we'll get our quarterback next year that's kind of where I'm at and then if somebody like Milro drops and if

he Milro's there in the third round then I'm I'm all on board i'm just take a because at the very worst he's he's a

gadget player for you like you were talking about but like a really good one like way better than Taesm Hill gadget

player what what what round was Russell Wilson drafted in third three third

round yeah third round yeah so um Yeah do you want to do the rest of the Yeah

let's hit the rest of the first round because we did say we were going to try to keep it to a tight hour because I know my wife keeps going you never do a

tight hour you never know i'm sorry i try i try but it's okay um so we are at

New England and let's let's not talk about trades so so let's re let's recap ward Carter Hunter that's where we are

now now you have Yeah I've got that so now you've got New England um New England's up at four they're screwed

because they they wanted Hunter i I think I think they're going to be in

on Graham i think they're Mason Graham is the guy oh really i have never seen anyone peg them with him okay remember

Vrabel's defensive line he had Simmons at defensive tackle they had another They had another defensive tackle they

had um uh Bud Dri on the outside later it was Harold Landry they were very big

up the middle of their defensive line okay i think I think I think they go Mason Graham talk me into that and

because I want to keep this moving i mean that's just as good as any other pick there i think I think ideally they

would want an offensive lineman there but I think that's a little high for an offensive line i think they would be looking to move but let's not get into

that so all right yeah I agree with you okay jacksonville now you got Jacksonville i

think Jacksonville would have been a good fit everybody seems had Mason Graham with them but he's off the board

now um I saw mocked today by one of the

major guys that had them taking it was a surprise to me who did

they take um who do you think there i'm trying to remember who i'm kind of thinking um looking at the way

Jacksonville's needs are right at the moment um I would think that McMillan

becomes a possibility that high they've lost some guy well he's going to go in the top 10 um I'm not as sold on him as

other people the only the only other thing is I do think offensive line they they need to protect Lawrence better now

also keep in mind they let Evan Ingram go so well that's that might have been the pick that I saw was it might have

been Tyler Warren five is way five is way too high for Warren i mean that's way way way high you know this is one

thing I think I think tight ends are getting underrated now and wide receivers a little bit overrated i think

if you have a really good tight end in the NFL I mean look what look what Travis Kelce does for you and and and um

we got Kelsey you got Leaporta in Detroit i mean in uh the guy in San Francisco what's what's um you've got um

why can't I remember his name he's a beer anyway great i know i'm I'm well into myself help us out in chat guys

tight tight end with the 49ers all right anyways but anyways um so who do you want to go there with um I mean I'm

thinking offensive line KD that's right it is KD um Um So you're think I'm

thinking I'm thinking Will Campbell i'm thinking Will Campbell that's me you

I can see that cuz Will Campbell I could see with New England too um agreed

agreed i'm just there's anyone else what are their biggest needs what What is

Jacksonville's biggest I mean Jacksonville has a whole wide receiver because they they basically uh they had

to move on from a couple of guys they have Gabe uh uh Davis but he's extremely streaky and uh they need more weapons

they need tight end i don't think I'm taking a wide receiver and I think tight end over the receiver there but you're

and then cornerback Will Johnson might be a possibility for them as well yeah that's a good I'm going to go with what

you said i'm going to go offensive line then all right so we'll go we'll go Campbell on that one together so now that brings us to Vegas um and we still

have Shadur Sanders is still sitting there but I'm not I'm not I saw somebody

somebody said that um and they seem pretty emphatic about it god who was it

again I've been watching so many somebody who was at the league meetings at the owners meetings and they said

um um Shadur is not going to the Raiders and he's not going to the Jets and he's

not going to There was another team in the top 10 there it might have been

It won't be New It won't be New Orleans it won't be New Orleans um I would think that would be a good shader would be a

good fit with the Raiders but this guy made it sound like they're not going that way if I were the Raiders I would I

would consider it it seems like Genty is a guy that everybody has pegged to the Raiders um which probably means he's not

going there but it seems like everybody's got Genty pegged with the Raiders i I I'm kind of thinking the

same thing the only other possibility I mean I'm trying to look at some of their needs they They have a need at Dline

they have a need at wide receiver you have Gino Smith their wide receiver group is a little is a little low so

McMillan is still there so you've got McMillan is there i'm trying to think though with Brady's involvement what

would he do they've got a superstar tight end and

that was a Brady goto their receivers were made up of a lot of of they didn't have they did the one year with Moss but

any other time they really had a bunch of guys like an Edelman uh before that

was like a Welker they had those guys that could work underneath so I don't I don't think McMillan's the guy there i'm

I'm going to go with uh uh Membu the offensive lineman he could play tackle he could play tackle or guard and I

think you've got to protect your quarterback and so you don't like you don't like you don't think Genti is going there you don't you I I just think

if Brady's involvement is what I think it is they didn't The Patriots never had

a superstar highdrafted running back they picked up a veteran they picked up a Cory Dylan at different times they

went with um a Vine they went with a white i mean they had a bunch of running backs that they kind of went through i

just think that they they they know they've got to protect up the middle membu can play tackle but he can play

guard for sure i think that's where they go but yeah he's short for a tackle at

63 but I've seen that too you know when people He's definitely a be a kick-ass

guard um I actually saw somebody I believe it was a CBS one that tried to project him to the Giants at three and I

was like "No no no no do the Raiders need a corner they do need defensive

back help and they do need a corner that is correct so Will Johnson's Will Johnson's in play there too see I I

could see them going genty i could see them going Will Johnson membu seems a little high to me but I've seen people

mock him i didn't see the Giants mock you know with with him going that high but

I've seen So you you be the deciding factor on this one you want to go genty

why do why do it seems like everybody It seems like everybody has gent I know

Neil I'm pulling Casey Merrill out from the early 80s but I couldn't remember George KD for the 49ers I don't dude

it's been a long day that's how our brains operate when you get older you you have you have that shortterm memory

disappears right so I mean I can remember the Giants Gary Sherk I don't you know like

I couldn't remember um God I I can see the case for all of

these guys i think the Raiders are a tough You know what shador makes so much sense to for

them too i I I'll say Genty i'll say they'll go okay i think Gent but I know

he's a superstar potentially he's too damn good to last too much longer i think I think that's a good fit for them

so that that puts the Jets up now now that's an interesting pick cuz they probably wanted they probably wanted one

of the offensive linemen right which which Membu is technically still there mcmillan is still there warren is still

there um and then of course Sanders is still there i think they would go towards Tyler Warren right no they could

they Who did they just let go um well he signed with um it was it was one of the

tight ends that we discussed in our free agent yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah he wasn't that good um average player it was an

average player um I would think the tight end makes sense for them there um

I'm looking at the list right now and you also have to keep in mind who's their quarterback right now right you you have a Justin Fields a guy who's

going to have to play a lot on play action kind of stuff a lot of quarterback run you know RPO stuff so

you're going to want a solid running game which they have a good running back you're which means tight ends gary Rezes thank you for putting him in there too

um you're going to need a solid tight end for blocking and other purposes and you need a solid offensive line and

they've got holes in their offensive line they've got some some older guys they brought in they were stop gap sort

of and it didn't work out with with Rogers so you know John just doing this exercise the draft really does fall off

pretty quickly it is it because you now you're like there's a lot of guys that are in a very similar range and they

might be very they may be great players but there's not that that differentiate differentiating um uh skill set that

says this guy is just way up here i think it's Conklin yeah thank you it was

Conklin yes yes and it's and it's going to be really um I want to say it's uh

it's kind of like buyers buyer's choice sort of you're going to it's what you what appeals to you i think we're going

to see a lot of surprises because of what you just said i think we're going to see people who are going to pick their favorite flavor and you're going

to get people going "Oh my god I didn't think you know somebody who you thought would go in the teens might go in like

seven six seven eight and vice versa." So I think I think this and it's one of

the reasons why you take Hunter or um uh Carter when we we have the

opportunity because it it falls off pretty darn quickly and Giants fans are lo will lose it if we take a running

back even though I think Genty Genty is probably worth if you trade down is

worth worthy of the discussion but I can't even imagine Giants doing it for PR purposes tyler Warren in a trade in a

trade down I'm a little more okay with it depending if you can move down I don't want to do it at five but if you

can trade down a little then it becomes the value versus the position the biggest problem with Saquon Barkley was

where we were at that time as a team you had an aging quarterback you you you had an aging offensive line and you threw a

running back at two right right where you could have moved down so good did it

and you could have I mean he's a great player i I get that but the problem is you never got to see that player

maximize his ability because he's so dependent on other parts of the team to

to do it i mean if you think about it great running backs are really defined by the teams they're with no great

running back goes to an absolutely shitty team look look at the Saints with George well Payton ultimately won a

Super Bowl later on so he's kind of but he took a long time but that's when you owned contracts by the way forever oh I

can keep going barry Sanders let's keep this going well I mean but the Saints with George Rogers right the Saints

picked one Giants picked two saints get George Rogers but they had no offensive line they had No your point i I get your

point i just I'm just giving you grief um yeah let's take Let's go a to the to the Raiders because we got to kind of

wrap we did We did do that we were So now we're on the Jets right so Tyler Warren I I think Warren makes the most

sense based on what they need yeah I think Warren there too and who are we at now we're at eight that's the Carolina

Panthers see a lot of people have them going edge a lot of people have have

them going edge so um then who who's out there still in the top let's see i'm

looking here so well you've got your Jaylen Walker jaylen Walker I think is really good um I think he's an option um

Will still out there still too right yes Will Johnson ji Ji Campbell still out

there the the needs for the Panthers are wide receiver edge and defensive back according to PFF those are their three

needs i would think Will Johnson becomes a very big possibility but Jiadi Campbell also pops up from Alabama

yeah I'm looking there's a lot of good edge rushers this could be one of those deals where it depends on what edge guy

you like for your system because there's a bunch of edge guys here there's Will Williams from Georgia um yeah I was just

looking at him yeah there's even a lot of people like Mike Green from Marshall um that's that's going to be too high I

think for him um God I'm almost tempted to go I don't know what their corner situation is will

Johnson's sort of sticking out like a sore thumb right now to me um there's some question because he's you know he's

he's not a great he's not a great physical presence he's he's he's not

known to be a run defender but maybe you don't care maybe that you want him to just cover and you're like "That's what

I need him to do." I'm a big fan of Jaylen Walker that would be my pick i don't know what you're going to do i I

think at this point you you saw the turnaround with Bryce Young uh he needs

weapons and I think I think McMillan finally goes i think McMillan goes the

one thing about him that that guy's got size i mean yeah and it gives them a little bit difference than what they

have so now that brings New Orleans up and Shador Sanders is still sitting there and they do have a need at

quarterback and they play in a dome i'm going to say stay they they draft Shidor as I freeze with a really bad look

what do you think i I definitely think it's a possibility

Shidor is going to get drafted in the first round he is going to get drafted in the first round

um their needs are running back wide receiver Dline as far as PFF is concerned they're not including

quarterback because you No there's a bunch of really good defensive linemen i What I'm hoping is that the run on that

stop does not start early there's a bunch of good defensive linemen i think New Orleans uh with the way they have a

massive cap issue they keep playing with the numbers to to be under the cap but

they're having quarterback would help them there right well you've you still have Carr at quarterback right at the

moment in this contract but they are they are woefully thin in other areas on

defense now i I I kind of think n it's a little high

i think you go I think you go um Williams from Georgia on the edge you get some pressure you try to take some

off the uh the defensive backs i think you go Williams there you got two Georgia guy Bulldog going back to back

then right no we had we had McMillan going to Carolina oh that's right before

that was Okay um and then Warren was before that so no actually there's he's the only Georgia Bulldog no I thought we

packed Jaylen Walker for um Oh didn't we oh no you're right we I I McMillan yeah

you pushed him to me and said Never mind forget that you're good and so now we're at 10 and we're at Chicago

chicago i think by the way Chicago has spent a [ __ ] ton of money on their offensive line they have absolutely

bought linemen across the league they are trying to do everything possible to make Williams a winner they've got a new

head coach the needs as far as what we could see on PFF running back uh

defensive line and safety it's almost too high but but Starks out of Georgia

is a possibility that's a little high defensive line now you're getting into Jiad Campbell as a as an edge guy uh you

do have a Kenneth Grant i do think Are they settled on the offensive line they're done you think and for I don't think they're going to draft a guy here

after you spent so much money on offensive lineman you bought you bought a bunch of them okay um you want a

center i think you got two guards and a center so you said Jihad Campbell and who else jihidi Campbell's there i think

you you could look at you could also look at Will Johnson they could go Dback but I don't think they'll go there uh

Shamar Stewart it would be a possibility and then Jottie Brown uh Jottie uh Baron

is above Will Johnson on a lot of charts i don't know where you're seeing him yeah I saw somebody today who really

likes him his size bothers me a little bit but not enough that I wouldn't draft him but he kind of reminds me a little

bit of Will Allen and I have a pure pure distaste i have a pure distaste of Will Allen because Will Peterson was the

better player and had he not gotten injured I think he would have had a better career overall just out of curiosity I know you said no offensive

line but did we end up putting Meu someplace did we say Meu was we did not

he did not he's available but that but we're saying they're not going to go offensive i I wouldn't Chicago spent so

much money it would be it would be criminal to I don't know what their defensive line situation is there are a

lot of defensive tackles there um like you said that might be a little high but I've seen people I've seen people put

like Derek Harmon way farther higher than I thought he would um I've seen Kenneth Grant all over the

place some people have him really I like that guy that guy to me is going to be

a a Keith Hamilton type physical presence he's a little bit thicker he's

a bigger He's He's a heavier dude than Hamilton was right but I think he's going to provide that kind of uh push

pressure right up the middle um he he's a guy to keep an eye on he's he uh if not Hamilton and I'm using only Giant

references but uh Fred Robbins would be another guy that Grant kind of reminds me of a little bit yeah and Walter Nolan

is still out there um I don't know you pick on this one to me it doesn't again you know me with the

mock drafts right now we're throwing darts at a dart board right now i I think Jiadi Campbell being that he's still sitting there and was and is

projected i think he brings a pressure to that Bears defense i think so you go Jiotti Campbell at that point did anyone

in the chat give us an idea too let's see wait a minute some of the Chicago

content okay that's good to know this is I love this one what oh shoot not that

one i don't care about that one where did the one I wanted oh don't say that no that's not the one I wanted don't give a [ __ ] about that this one right

here yes and we've mentioned that yeah um and

that's why I'm not as if we had if we had to cut one of these guys which I

one of the pundits was saying the Giants could even trade one of these guys and it wouldn't be a big cap hit for them if somebody quarterback got hurt in camp

and somebody was desperate so um so I would say based on the the the you know

whatever the thing we just did Limelight's on the same page as I am with a lot of this by the way he's Yeah

yeah if if Grant fell there I would be like run to the podium boy there's a bunch of these guys there's Grant

there's Nolan there's Harmon there's Shamar Stewart Alexander from Tique

Williams um Dion Walker TJ Sand no no no no no no no no no no no deion Walker you

better not touch before the fourth round that dude is is lazy as all hell no way okay and there's even um who was the

other one I wanted to Stephen Lawrence i absolutely have seen that movie that has Alice Cooper in it i've seen that movie

um trying to remember who's the guy uh the older guy that's in it he was in Halloween too um Jesus I can't remember

the guy's name but yes uh Alice Cooper is in Prince of Darkness it's really weird they used like tachon feels so

yeah I totally know what you're talking about i could do bad I could do bad I could do I could do bad movies anyway I swear

exactly i could do bad movies i swear to God um so one thing I will say is the

exercise we just did Shadur Sanders did not go in the top 10 if he drops down into 16 17 i think you were you were

trying to make that happen though i think Well I mean look you start to think about it right there's really only

Well I said he could slide i'm the one I said in multiple episodes if he gets by the Giants he could slide there's only a

couple of teams though that you could legitimately say I could see him there the Jets maybe but I don't think they're

going to do that they've got other issues they got Fields you got Tyrod Taylor is backing him up i I I don't

think you're going to go Sanders there it doesn't It doesn't make sense based on other things you're trying to do if

he can up with somebody like the Rams that would be perfect for him i agree but what I'm what I want to ask you is

if he gets down to 16 17 18 do the Giants trade back into that spot to get

him how much capital do you have to give up to get You're probably giving up a one I would think to have to get back

into I'm giving up next year's one one to go up to get Shadore um see but I

will I know what I said earlier it's to move up to three I think is from three to one is ridiculous because now you've

done everything and you put all your eggs in that one basket but if I get a what is potentially a superstar player

at three and I can trade back in and get a quarterback no that I

I'm saying I don't want to give up that number one i I'm I might do that sucks

we could be picking in the top three next year again i got I'm gonna I'm willing to bet you money right now that

we're not in the top three we're not in the top five we're not in the top eight

i'll bet I'll bet you I'll bet I'll bet you a 100 flat i'll bet you a hundred

flat right now seen the schedule who cares i'm not even sure you're see you're you're still convinced that the

that we won't get swept by the Redskins i mean the command exactly all right all right and I don't think we're getting

beat by Dallas i'm not trading away next year and I also think other teams are going to regress it's just it's just the

way trading next year's number one for Shador i don't think I'm doing that i would try to trade anything but that

what if I what if the number two this year number two next year and throw Well let's say it's a two and a four it's a

two this year a a four this year and a two and a four next year

if they like really like Shadur then that price is very reasonable for to get

a franchise quarterback when I mean franchise quarterback I mean somebody they think is going to carry this team

for the next 10 to 15 years that is a that is a cheap price to pay i I I agree

i I I just have a weird feeling that he's not going to go that far i think somebody else There are a lot of teams

that need quarterbacks there are just a lot of teams that need quarterbacks do not discount the fact that San Francisco

is trying to figure out what the hell they're going to do they still have to give Brock Pury a massive contract

if they're not sold on that and by the way they kind of said they're going to put that on hold until now after the

draft if they're not sold on party you get if Sadur is sitting there do you

take him as insurance to go if you put Shador Sanders on the 49ers Shadur will

look awesome you know there's a risk here for the Giants too if they pass on

Shadur and Shadur goes to some someplace else and he looks great then you're gonna have people who were really pissed

off remember Penn and people are again Nick Knicks is a great comparison

because people are like Nicks he's a second round pick don't give me this crap now again you and I have talked

about how great a fit he was for Denver and all that but right now Giants fans are like "How the hell did you pass on

somebody like Knicks and we still have this mess at quarterback if if if Shador

goes on and plays even better than Nicks someplace else the Giants are going to

have egg on their fa face all over again." Well I think not only that the other part is is that JJ McCarthy is

actually going to at this point is going to be playing for Minnesota if McCarthy plays well Knicks already did play well

and let's say that continues right let's say Pennix continues that's the three guys that you basically just said we

don't need and then if you pass on Shadura and that's four that's at that point it's so

fireable you only picked

I owed him that because he came on and he kept trying to like you know I could keep talking about football so it was a

lot of fun he's a super nice guy really appreciated him coming on and again his channel is super successful so uh but

anyways Mike uh Bobby Skinner on Monday we'll do another video we might do an extra one we're going to do a little

more and prepare we will be live opening night of the draft scary we are We are

on during the draft folks i just hope when we're on live you and I are going like "Yes yes." If if all of a sudden if

I swear to God if this matches when the Giants drafted the goddamn wide receiver

from Indiana when I'm I had Mel Kyper's book so here I am eric talked about following the draft i used to make

Please don't make fun of it i used to make my own draft list pure position by position i was going 25 deep at each

position we're talking like not punter who gives a [ __ ] but all the other positions i was 25 deep i'm pulling out

Kyper's book flipping through going "Where the hell what who is this guy?" He was the 22nd rated wide receiver in

his book not the 22nd player the 22nd wide receiver and the Giants took him in

the first round i was like and I was with all my friends who were not Giants

fans and holy [ __ ] did I get ribbed for hours and then there was the Cedric Jones draft who was taken at six overall

and they didn't know he was he was half blind oh you took I was going to say I turned a blind eye to that one but they

um they didn't know he was half blind and that was the one where we got screwed because we wanted Jonathan Ogden and we won there was four guys that we

wanted we wanted Ogden we wanted either one of the two edge guys from Illinois

and then uh who was the who was the four but I I heard the Giants really wanted Jonathan Ogden and when they when the

when that running back didn't go what was his name lawrence Phillips lawrence Phillips oh Jesus Christ he killed the

guy in jail yeah when he didn't go where he where he was supposed to go we got screwed so and then Cedric Jones and and

I remember the draft guys knew he had an issue with his eyes but apparently the Giants Giants didn't know so we should

do we should do one show later on and we got to cut it my my wife is gonna Yeah we got to go yeah um we should do one

show about just reviewing some of the past drafts and some of the guys when the Giants took Derek

Brown at first you're thinking Giants getting another uh Yes thank you another Notre Dame tight end this is great and

then Derek Brown showed up and if you don't know the story go back and look it up lt busted that dude in the face in

practice broke his face mask made him all bloody he was never the same after

Brown was supposed to be really good he was He was an athletic freak he was a sure thing um so was Jer um going to say

Gerard Bunch not Gerard Bunch um I like Jared Bunch but Rond Rond was supposed to be a sure thing yeah we could do this
