Welcome to our daily encounter with the Word of God! Today we reflect on the readings taken from the Book of Genesis (Genesis 41:55–57; 42:5–7a,17–24a) and the Gospel according to Saint Matthew (Matthew 10:1–7). These passages invite us to trust in God's providence and to embrace our mission to proclaim the Kingdom of Heaven. First Reading (Genesis 41:55–57; 42:5–7a,17–24a): In this reading, we witness how God turns suffering into salvation. Joseph, once betrayed by his brothers, becomes an instrument of divine providence. During the famine, people from all over seek food in Egypt — including Joseph’s own brothers, who do not recognize him. This dramatic encounter reveals God’s hand restoring broken relationships and using painful moments to accomplish His greater purpose. Joseph, moved to tears, holds back his identity — forgiveness is already growing in his heart. Gospel (Matthew 10:1–7): In the Gospel, Jesus calls the twelve apostles by name and sends them out with authority to heal the sick, cast out unclean spirits, and proclaim that the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand. Their mission is personal, born from a deep relationship with the Lord. Jesus chooses not the perfect, but the willing. Today, we too are called to be missionary disciples, sharing the Gospel with those near us, with courage and love. Reflection and Call to Conversion Today’s readings reveal a God who heals, sends, and transforms. Joseph represents mercy and provision; the apostles, mission and service. May we recognize God’s action in our lives and respond with faith and readiness. May the Word of God inspire you today! Share in the comments how these readings speak to your heart and how you feel called to proclaim the Kingdom. 📖 Readings of the Day: First Reading: Genesis 41:55–57; 42:5–7a,17–24a Gospel: Matthew 10:1–7
